  1. Very cool, the burnt witch is a nice touch and makes the scene that bit more gloomy and mysterious. A small, but very nicely built moc. Great work!
  2. Nice little moc! Lots of great details on show and it's nice you have added some interior. Great work!
  3. Thank you all for your great comments, they are always most appreciated! I will hopefully build sone modular style houses soon, but only when I've worked out something that hasn't been done before. Thanks all
  4. Wow, I'm surprised this is still getting comments. Thanks to all for your great words. Firstly, I get all my pieces from sets, bricklink, fairs and jumble sales, and no I would never sell any of my Lego. Secondly, I really have no clue how many pieces are in this as I never really pay much attention to things like that when I'm building. It was pretty much solid all the way through, so my expert guess would be.....a lot. Thanks all again, I really appreciate your comments but this is now a very old thread and the moc has long since been demolished, so feel free to look but don't bump it with anymore comments. Thanks
  5. That's a nice barn you have built, no doubt inspired by the upcoming kingdoms set? The barn itself has a nice shape and colourscheme, but I do agree with ISC about the floor inside, as grass wouldn't be growing there. Tan for straw and some scattered brown pieces would be worth trying. The scarecrow is a nice touch and much more original then using the old standard of a pumpkin minifig head. Nice work!
  6. The moc expert tag can cause problems as I don't think a moc expert title singles out some people to be better than others, as I've seen plenty of nice mocs built by people who don't have the tag, as well as competitions won by people who don't have it. But, some builders who put a lot of time and effort in and produce very impressive builds regularly like to have a feeling of reward and recognition for their efforts and the moc expert tag makes them stand out. If the mods handed them out to all and sundry than the tag would lose its reward feel. Maybe they could create a moc expert grade system where theres a bronze, silver, gold expert tags. That way more could be handed out while still keeping a bit of prestige about the tag. But its not for me to say, I come here to share builds and discuss themes and mocs, not to receive tags, that really shouldn't be an issue. As for front paged mocs, yes there are a lot of great mocs that dont make it, but that's usually when there is a lot of other main news front paged. This is a Lego fan community here and we our all equal as we share the same hobby.
  7. Nice moc you have there, it deffinitly has a 'classic' feel to it. I like the colours you have used and the dark green roof fits surprisingly well. The interior is nicely done and adds some playability which is always a good thing. A good job all round
  8. That looks seriously awesome! I like the whole scene and layout you have used, and the small boat in the background is an excellent addition
  9. Hi there This is the second part of my Countryside Collection mocs based around English villages. I decided on a Antique shop for this one as every English village has one(in fact mine has 15 of them). I was really hoping to have a thatched roof for this, but im still havn't perfected my thatch design im working on yet. Enjoy, and I hope to start working on the next one soon. DC
  10. This is very tragic news and at such a young age! He was the first person to help me out when I first joined here, as I spent all my time on the pirate forum. He was a very friendly and helpful person and will be sadly missed. R.I.P
  11. Its all down to saving. I allways save up a lot for just after xmas, as I usually only buy a few brinklink orders throughout the rest of the year. I wish I could buy lots of sets every month, but bills, family and the all that comes with it eat up the money
  12. Well, I have been very greedy over the last few weeks, as I use this time to stock up on sets and pieces for the year. So ive been buying up every sale items I could find which were mostly POP and Toy story sets plus a couple of the new Diagon Alley sets as they are great for parts. Yes I know, they arnt castle sets, but I did buy another 2 MMV sets at the begining of the month as I figured they are probably going to stop selling them soon and they are such a great set for parts. Grab as many as you can!
  13. Great work! The coach is very nicely built and I love all the action and detail of the interior!
  14. Thankyou all for your great comments. I am currently putting the finishing touches on the next installment, so should hopefully have it posted at the weekend.
  15. Very nice! I like the sunken chest and the bird on the rock. Great little dio with some nice details!
  16. Better late than never, and well worth it. The light house itself is a nice design but it's the cliff setting that really makes it epic. It can be difficult to have a ship next to a land based moc as the ship usually dwarfs the land and looks odd, but this just works and the waves you built really bring the scene to life and give it that epic look. I havn built any pirate mocs for a year either and scenes like this just make me wanna build some. Nice work mate!
  17. Hi there, This is the first moc from a series im building called The Countryside Collection. Each one will be part of a village, as most people seem to build towns and cities. I hope to build a Butchers, bookshop, pub, bakery, green grocers etc, all in the style of an English village. This is the Riverside Boathouse, a perfect place to relax after a hard weeks work in the busy city. This was a old CCC entry that I never entered and its been sitting around gathering dust until I decided to change the windows and add some modern features. Its not exactly what I was going for, but it works. I hope to make each one better and more colourful as I go along. Enjoy Not the best pics, but Ive been pressed for time recently.
  18. Like I said on flickr, this is just a really cool scene. The lava looks great and the whole island really has that tropical feel. I'm so gonna build a new large port now, it's long overdue. Nice work mate!
  19. Wow, great build! Looks awesome and imposing with great detail. Looks like it would really struggle to take curves however. But even as a stationary train in a yard, that's still a great model to have on your layout. Nice work!
  20. So many great ships to choose from! Ive always admired ship builders as they arn't the easiest thing to make, let alone make look realistic! Heres my favs... 6 - 2 points 9 - 1 point 11 - 1 point 12 - 1 point 15 - 1 point 25 - 1 point
  21. Thats a very nice port you have made there! The landscaping is nicly done and the church adds some depth and gives the scene some height variation. The other buildings are nicly done and theres plenty of great details. Its nice to see some big land based pirate mocs as there is always an abundance of ships posted. Great work!
  22. This a nice slice of classic slyowl! The stone wall you mentioned you were working on really has turned out great here. As usual you have crammed the interior with lots of great details and excellent use of parts. Great work mate! Does this mean we might see you building a few more mocs now, perhaps for the JRC2?
  23. When you say work at Lego, do you mean you actually work for Lego, or just at a store?
  24. Don't get me wrong Z, I am looking forward to these sets, I think I just had very high expectations for this line, and when I first looked at that mill set I was kind of dissappointed. But like you said, there are some good parts on show and I'm hoping the bigger sets will have a good selection. It can't be too long till some pics of the larger sets in this line show up. I have seen the list which mentions the QAR, but I see people talking about a Black pearl as well, but I didn't know thy had been confirmed. We will all have to wait till we get the final high res official pics of the sets, then we can see what we are really getting.
  25. I really like this, it just kinda stands out to me as its a very different design to what I usually see of lighthouses. Great details and water effects, plus the colour palette is really nice. Great work! Im really looking forward to building pirate mocs again and this just makes me wanna start building
