  1. I think thats a great list! CGH and Bonaparte's ships instantly come to mind as well as the other that Admiral Croissant has mentioned. But I would also add Slyowls ship which was pretty awesome and a rather liked Maydayartist's pirate ship if you remember that one?
  2. Thats what I like to see, lots of vegetation Thats a nice little country scene you have built there I like the fact that you have added the room that overhangs, it gives the house a more interesting shape. A very good try for your first moc! Keep it up
  3. Sounds interesting, but Im not going to expect a large assortment of brand new parts cause its not gonna happen. Im not getting my hopes up yet
  4. Great work, this is a really cool moc and you've crammed in a lot of nice details in this. The little shack looks great and the whole scene works well here!
  5. Nice one A very good design that works well for many uses.
  6. Well, keep your eyes open, you never know when pics will leak out, rest assured you wont be dissapointed oh, and expect the same deal as Indy(Sets based on new and old films)
  7. This is looking very nice, and you have certainly done well for someone whos just starting out. Ive always liked ports and the quaint look that some of them have. I like that you're building different tradesmen houses as it adds depth. Keep up the good work.
  8. Thanks, If I ever work for Lego then I will make sure they release it as part of a new line of medieval modular buildings, but I doubt it will be cheap
  9. Thats one extremely crazy awesome build mate! So much going on everywhere and the building is great. I love the use of different colours for compartments/rooms, it really makes this stand out. The street looks great too, and the moving floor is a cool touch. Very wacky and different and all the better for it Nice one
  10. Nice work! Lovely details and colour use. I like the statues
  11. Congrats guys! I know you put in a lot of hard work round here.
  12. Thank you all so much for your great comments and feedback Unfortunatly there is no interior as the techniques i used to create the detail on the outside have left the inside looking a complete mess! I have taken photos of all different angles but just havnt got round to uploading them. Thanks mate, and for the frontpage its one of my fav mocs ive built. The fence was made using a few old broken spears for some and others I have actually built into the base so they look smaller then they really are. Thanks all!
  13. Hi there, this is my next entry for the CCC. Ive been meaning to build a blacksmith shop for ages, so I wanted to build something bigger then the average castle house, something more minifig scale and realistic. Im quite pleased with how this turned out and definitly prefer the look of a larger house. Plus it also allowed the moc to focus more on the building rather then a excessive ammount of plantwork Only thing Im not happy about is the pics which could have been better, but I can always retake some later as I may keep this moc for a future large layout. Im afraid thats all the pics at the moment. I have taken photos of every angle but I havn't uploaded them yet, so they will prob be up by end of week on my flickr: http://www.flickr.com/photos/45244184@N04/
  14. Ah, thats where you're wrong, its actually white and brown . I got bored with tan and so tryed white and I quite like it, allthough these pics weren't taken in natural light, so the white looks tan! Cheers mate, I expect your take part in the annual classic pirate comp, seeing as you have a habit of winning every time!!! Been a while since ive seen a pirate moc from you. Thanks for the comments everyone
  15. Thanks for the comments! Well when it comes to medieval scenes I allways feel lots of plants really add to bringing it to life. I base a lot of my ideas on the old english countryside and when you see the buildings they are allways overgrown with life, which I feel adds a lot of character. Plus, Ive spent so much on plant elements that I feel I have to get my moneys worth of use . But it can get a bit tedious and I think after I have built all my CCC entrys, I will have a break from medieval countryside and build some pirate towns and port and cafe corner style houses! Thanks again!
  16. This is such a well built scene I love all the details on the floor and the windows. The balcony is great and a nice touch! Well done all round!
  17. You are off to a good start, and the arches look nice. My advice would be to maybe add a bit more texture to the grey walls by adding some more different shades of grey here and there. Also, as allready mentioned, you could change the shape to make it a little less blocky and give it more character. But, its still a wip, so you can carry on tweaking it till you're happy with the design. Keep building, and I look forward to seeing the finished result
  18. Hi there, This was originally starting out as Myths & Legends part 3, but while I was half way through I realised it wasn't going to fit in the final moc the way Id envisioned. I was going to dismantle it and start again when I saw that CCCVIII had started, so Ive spent the last 2 days building it into a small scene for the misc catagorie. Im going to take some pics of a lot of unused designs from now on, as I realised with my Mary Jane moc that I have a tendency to scrap lots of designs that would have made nice mocs. At least this one will be getting some use in the contest. I had planned for the whole of Myths & Legends 3 to be lit up with lights built in to every house. This isnt a great pic, but I kept the lights in this moc as there was no way of taking them out without breaking it. More pics on flickr: http://www.flickr.com/photos/45244184@N04/
  19. This is awesome! I know this from somewhere, was this from Monty Python? Has to be. Great build all round, you've captured everything from that scene. Most spectacular
  20. That looks really cool! I like the design and idea, the lava details are nicely done
  21. Thankyou all for your nice comments! One cannon is all they could afford at the time Thanks, I agree it could do with a few finishing touches, but I never really ment for it too be photoed, so I was lazy with a few parts. Thanks for the blog. The bridges are actually made using the thiner lego string clamped between the tile and those 1x1 plates with a clip on one side(dont know what the're called). The string is then threaded through a 1x1 cone and clamped down at each end. You can then turn the cone to tighten the string which raises or lowers the tension in the bridge, which is quite handy for different looks. Well im used to building rocks, so that part was pretty quick, the house is very basic as it was built with a ramshackle look. The longest part was the bridges, as they had to be made with string. Thanks for the comments
  22. Hi there, I was trying out a few bridge methods this morning for a large moc I have planned, and I ended up building this in the process. I wasn't planning to photo it, but I figured its been a while since I posted a pirate moc, so here it is. Only the one picture though, as thats all I took. For those expecting a more traditional large moc, I do have some big pirate projects planned for end of year(hopefully)!
  23. Thats a great little inn you have built. Looks like an Inn should, with some nice details inside. I like the fact that you have also made a setting outside as well, brings it more to life. Well done and welcome!
  24. I must comment again. as ive had a bit more time to look at the pics. Very impressive! I can see a lot of effort has gone into this. I really like the stern design and windows, and the captains cabin looks excellent in the pic with the natural light, that picture of a ship is a great detail! A damn fine job all around! You must build another one now
