  1. Very Nice! I remember seeing the first wip shots of this ages ago. You deffinitly exceeded all expectations. The sea is nicely done and a refreshing change from the usuall tiled look. The fort itself has a lovely shape and colourscheme. So many nice details all round. Great work!
  2. Its basically the same as Indy's bag. Its the same mould except for the fact that instead of a bag there is a rectangle hole to slide the sword into. So if you have Indy's bag then you will know what you can do with it and what restrictions it has when using other mini fig accessories.
  3. Thanks BC, I hope to start some more soon, just been enjoying the nice weather we are having in the UK at the moment. I want to make some POTC mocs now!!

  4. Id just liketo say that this is a fantastic build! Its just so different to most other castle mocs out there, which adds to its greatness. Everyone builds in greys, blacks and browns, its nice to see a change and the colour really stands out. I can see you have put a lot of time and thought into this, with all those different levels and towers. You have also put a lot of effort into your minifigs as well, which all look very original. Great work all round! In the world of Lego castles, this is one of the best original fantasy builds ive seen! Nice one
  5. Great review! Everyone was bashing this set when the first pics were shown, but its not that bad. Just pricey like the rest. Is it just me, or has anyone else noticed the excellent quality of the boxes? These are the first Lego sets ive bought where ive really liked the boxes. They feel and look much better quality then other lines.
  6. I actually like this set, it was the first POTC set I bought and I bought it mainly for the figs which are awesome. The other parts come in handy, like the grey slopes and those brown mast pieces. Plus I always welcome another brown rowing boat! The only thing that bugs me is those pearl gold coins and the price. You used to be able to buy a set with a box twice the size of this and it would only cost 12 pounds, this costs 20 in the UK!
  7. Nice review, I was tempted to review this one myself. Deffinitly my least favourite set of this line. I really only bought this for the figures which are great! Here in the UK I paid 20pounds for this set, which is far too pricey for what your getting. A uninspiring set, but great mini-figs!
  8. The sets were released in the UK the same time as the USA, but only at TRU stores. I've just been to my local TRU at Tumbridge Wells in the UK and they have all the sets. Apparently they have had them since last week and that all TRU in the UK have them. They are currently buy 2, get 1 Free. I nearly bought a load, but decided to just get the QAR for now as I don't essentially need them all right now. Anyone in the UK who is thinking about ordering from the USA, don't! Just go to TRU and save yourself the shipping costs and waiting time!
  9. Great review Brickster! I personally am not a fan of this ship, I would have loved it as a kid, but it still doesn't come close to the BSB. It's strange how Lego have never beaten their first pirate ship that was released over 20 years ago. But, I do think it's better than the BB and I will still buy this for it's minifigs and some of the parts. Not a great ship, but not terrible either
  10. The sets look pretty good, but the figures are my fav part of this line. Not sure weather I will buy QAR as it has far less moccing appeal then London escape or Whitecap. I expect I will get some doubles of those sets. But there's no rush, as bricklink orders of dark brown and turquoise tiles are more important right now :)
  11. I wouldn't use them together for a medieval town, as diagon alley has buildings with some glass windows and a glass roof which looks a bit odd in a medieval setting, but you could always swap the glass windows for some ordinary ones.
  12. Looking good mate, the landscape is starting to have a natural feel now and both bridges are looking nice. Good choice on using normal studded water, makes a refreshing change. I'm just about to start part 3 of my myths &legends series, so I will probably do it in sections like yours as it's a much easier way to work on. Keep the updates coming!
  13. Thankyou for all your great comments everyone! I'm glad you picked up on the faces, that was my thought too. I was original going to have them faceless, but instead opted to turn them away from the camera. The choice of grass colour was mainly because this moc will be on display for a while and i didn't want to use many pieces that I regularly use. Plus i figured dark green isn't hardly used much for grass, so it would make a change an give the scene a darker tone.
  14. England was at war with itself, a nervous tension gripped the people as King fought Parliament. As so often happens in these hard times, popular hysteria produced a figurehead. In this case, it was an unsuccessful lawyer from the small town of Manningtree, Matthew Hopkins, the self titled 'Witchfinder General'. The number of supposed witches put to death by Hopkins will never be know for certain, but it was probably in the region of 400 - more than a third of the total number executed in two centuries of English witch-hunting. He had 68 people put to death in the town of Bury St Edmunds alone, and 19 hanged at Chelmsford in one day. The name of the Witchfinder General is still remembered with horror, yet he did carry it out with the active co-operation of the local people. Very little is known of his early life, and his reign of terror only lasted 2 years. He was in his twenties when he carried out these acts, and a smart man, as he did everything within the law. The tortures usually consisting of 'running', 'swimming' and 'pricking'. If you ran a 70 year old woman up and down a street for a day they would confess to anything. Unlike popular belief, only one witch was burned, as it was death by hanging that was the main punishment. None of the supposed witches probably ever dabbled in witchcraft, but he would torture confessions from them, have them hanged, then collect the money and move to the next town. He claimed that he held 'the Devil's list of all English witches'. His popularity waned within a few years and he retired back to his home town. In a final twist to his story, he himself was accused of witchcraft and sentenced to be tortured and hanged, but he died in his sleep the night before from tuberculosis. A last reminder of his reign of terror was discovered in 1921. Two female skeletons were found, pinned into unmarked graves, and with iron rivits driven through their joints. Hopkins had made sure that these victims would not return from the grave. There's me thinking I was going to have a break from medieval type builds, then I get an offer asking weather I'd like to display a moc at my local town hall for an exhibition about witchcraft. Couldn't say no could I! Sorry for all the written work, here's the moc
  15. The Rum's gone?????????? What do you mean its gone? Where? How? What the hell are we going to do now!!! This is indeed a dire situation. We need the Rum!
  16. Now thats a nices moc! I really like mocs based on historic events and this is a great example of how to do it. Loving all the custom crusaders and flags as they really add to this scene. Great builds with great details all over. Nice work!
  17. Great idea! Ive got some pics somewhere of the Golden Hind replica that sailed the same route. Its in dock at London and is worth looking round. Also Charlestown in Cornwall is worth a look, as the port is still in its original condition and is used for filming period dramas/films. Its also home to some replica ships that are used in many films. I will dig out the pics and post them.
  18. They are out if you know where to look :) Ive seen a few pics by people who already have the new sets. I will hopefull pick up my QAR next week, so will do a review for those interested.
  19. No I havn't seen it yet, but I know prelim pics have been taken, so they should surface soon, and if I get hold of a pic before they go online then I will post it here straight away. Although Lego have a habit of removing them pretty quick, which is expected of course.
  20. I have to agree that both those sets arn't great, but the figs are great. The 3 biggest sets of this line will be worth it though. According to my contact, pics of the Black Pearl should be surfacing within the next month. I will try and post a pic if im allowed.
  21. You legend! That is so awesome, ive always wanted to build one of these. The fact that its radio controlled and the drum spins is just epic. You must of put a lot of thought into designing this and its paid off. Great work, you've earned a beer!
  22. Im glad about the Gladiator as Im planning a moc based on the Spartacus tv series, that fig will go nicely with the spartan. Not as good as series 4, but I will get some of these anyway. The monkey is cool, and I expect that will be another animal to show up in the Pet Shop modular that is supposed to be on its way.
  23. Well at least we don't have to wait any longer for the nice new pirate hat barbossa has,I made sure a grabbed a few of the new series 4 musketeers the other day, just for the hats! They do look nice. Only another month to wait for the sets.
  24. CastlePunk sounds good! This is awesome, plus its different which is always good. We need more of this! Im gonna create a flying tree now - ForestPunk!!!
  25. Thats gonna be pretty big! You have certainly set yourself a big task task. It will be nice to see the updates as this comes along. The river looks good, although it might be worth adding some brown to the tan as it will give it more texture. I would love to build something this big but I just havn't got the patience at the moment. Good luck, I look forward to seeing this come together as I know you will do a good job.
