  1. I fell into "Dark Ages" probably sometimes in mid 90-ties in my early 20's being musician, later being profi webdesigner/programmer/IT for another like 15+ years...and few weeks (1 moth?) back I walk into the LEGO-light again rebuilding all my long time forgatten (well, not realy ) SPACE CLASSIC sets (cca. 6 bigger ones, and a few smaler...see my actual signature icture below): I even washed all bricks - what I want is buy/collect somewhere all SPACE sets from the past I remember I want as a child/adolescent but never had option to realise it (I lived in socialistic state - ex-Czechoslovakia - and to obtain LEGO there was like meet live Freddie Mercury walking back from kitchen ). What I do now is I found LDD - one absolute ubelievable option for all of us "old LEGO-ists" giving us option having all our loved LEGO sets again, even those we never actualy had but wanted to, so I re-explored the excitment of not only building original LEGO sets, but more to developing my own ones (in my young ages I always do that more than playing with the original designs ) - to this date after cca. 1 month of using LDD I have like 8 own sets developed
  2. But when I add bg in editor it will not look OK (no pseudo-3D), it would look too flat...your second option looks exactly as it should be (if you good look at those orig. LEGO pics background DOES HAVE EFFECT on the model itself actualy...but I do not know how to do it from your description
  3. It would be great (at least for me ) if LEGO Company would prepare some sub website with short story from original designer/author of respective LEGO sets, where those who cares could read how they developed it, what thoughts they had when they were designing it + their pictures, maybe some proto sketches (in case they did it like that first before production) etc. - put credit where it needs to be, it'd be really nice - what do you think, hm?
  4. thank you for the file, I did read it while ago and it realy helps me a lot - appriaciated (although I do not agree with all of them, I respect them, of course) BTW: (sorry I do not know where else to post it in the forum) it would be great (at least for me ) if LEGO Company would prepare some sub website with short story from original designer/author of respective LEGO sets, where those who cares could read how they developed it, what thoughts they had when they were designing it + their pictures, maybe some proto sketches (in case they did it like that first before production) etc. - put credit where it needs to be, it'd be really nice - what do you think, hm? ...I always wanted to know person(s) who made up my lovely sets (LEGO Space Classic form 80's) but have never no luck in that
  5. NEW BUG: Any brcik that should fits by its size (number of studs, for example #3004) can not connect to side part of bricks with holes on their side (like #3701): in real LEGO it is absolutely no problem and I guess it is not "ilegal connection" - hope its not me being too restless ...see my example file (try to connect BLUE brick into WHITE brick's side): file: EXAMPLE (LDD 4.3.6)
  6. is there a way in LDD2POV-Ray/POV-Ray make background looks like in LEGO catalogues from 80's Space Classic theme, like these two (#6970 & #6971) below? If so, how to/what settings to apply?
  7. I did searching for "new bricks" in topics with no luck, so...

  11. that's great - thank you very much for the apropriate link
  12. Please, can you give me a link, I didn't find it in topics :-(
  13. OK, no problem being happy to help finding these bugs (oh, those Beatles! ), cos as a LEGO Space Classic fanatic I tend to use LDD as a "construction kit for real LEGO assembly" so I find very useful when LDD simulates almost everything that is in real LEGO (right now I'm "developing" my own Space sets so when I do it in LDD it has all the multifunctionalities applied and functional as in real LEGO would, so if something doesn't work or work differently then later when I will building it for real it could lead to problems, so I hope you will resolve these - thaks in advance ) ...therefore it is no real solution for me to simply pull out one of those bricks #3673 :)
  14. once again for clarification: when part I want to rotate is connected with two bricks #3673, then it won't rotate the part in between, instead it rotates everything around the part, or even won't rotate at all - if one of #3673 is removed, it rotates as expected, as long as them both are in place the second one works as obstacle for rotation but it shouldn't, the part between the two #3673 should easily rotate with them both in place (soprry, english is not my native language so I try to explain what I mean, therefore I included example file)
  15. yes, I know but it is still a bug: it should rotate as it is with them both connected sorry, but that is not the problem I reported, reported problem is something else (see my original post #130)
  16. BTW: is here in this forum any section for reporting missing bricks in LDD or something, cos this is only for bugs, right? NEW PROBLEM: When trying to rotate a brick it sometimes rotates everything around connected to it instead of the brick itself (try to rotate the BLUE part) - if you click the GREEN brick then it rotates as expected but only to some point and then it stops: this combination definitely works/rotates in real LEGO (see my file example for the problem) file: EXAMPLE EDIT: also sometimes it won't rotate at all as long as there are two bricks #3673 in rotated block, if there is only one it acts as expected - another bug EDIT 2: it looks like the second #3673 works as some obstacle for rotation - if I disconnect one brick connecting it with baseplate it rotates OK but also with the part behind the second #3673: it should not, in real LEGO it is not affected like this and the second #3673 works the same as the first one if they both are connected to the same rotating part with the same facing
  17. Agreed: it realy works (after some time I was able to do it, had to zoom in quite enough tho )
  18. I agree with you absolutely - Space Classic decorations are must!
  19. OK, thanx for explanation...I will be more patient next time and maybe will have luck with "elements in between studs"
  20. Do you mean "it is possible, but there is no such combination in no LEGO set" - do I understand it right, please? Because in real LEGO I realy use this combination from time to time...and to show you that it realy works with many possibilities, look at this - my presentation "of the problem": NEW PROBLEM: Bricks 1x1 with round bottom (like #3062, #3957 or even #64230) should connect "inbetween 4 pins matrix" of other bricks, like in real LEGO, like this one here:
  21. Brick 1 x 6 x 5 with LL2079 Rocket and Moon Pattern (http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=3754pb01) Sticker for Set 6970 - (192425) (http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=6970stk01)
  22. Technic, Brick 1 x 2 with Hole (Part#: 3700): other bricks of "1x1" should stick also to its "hole" as in real LEGO EDIT: now I see bricks that are 1/3 of the size those "normal" bricks (like #6141) do stick to its hole, but others - like #3005 - don't: if I apply the #6141 first and then I stick #3005 over/upon it, then it sticks, but sadly not directly to #3700's hole itself Baseplates with road(s), for example Baseplate, Road 32 x 32 9-Stud Landing Pad with Yellow Circle Pattern (Part#: 6099p03): other bricks should stick also to its flat surface part(s) - maybe with the same grid pattern as in "normal" baseplate = something like "ghost" pins (sticking bricks would behave as in normal baseplate in these regions without pins using 32x32 grid "invisible/ghost" pins)? Cos in normal LEGO you definitely can put things uppon flat baseplate surface and this would solve the problem we face at this point... Technic, Pin without Friction Ridges Lengthwise/Connector Peg (Part#: 3673) + all its derivates: they should "go inside" the bottom part of bricks like ROUND BRICK 1X1 (Part#: 3062), just like as in real LEGO
  23. link? BTW: I am Slovak too, so if you don't mind we could write in slovak in private messages (I am not so good in english anyway)
  24. 6950 - Mobile Rocket Transport Theme: Space > Classic LDD File (LDD 4.3.6): HERE Known Inaccuracies: - decorations are missing - brick 3324c01 replaced with custom solution - brick 3039p34 replaced with 3039pb45 - brick 3039p23 replaced with 3039pb42 Extra: - added light grey background instead of transparency (.png -> .jpg)
