  1. "bratku", I used your code modified by me wanting to have gradient instead of one color like this, I try this: plane { y, min_extent(ldd_model).y texture { average texture_map { #declare Ind = 0; #declare S = seed(0); #while(Ind < 40) // higher number of iterations=less artifacts [1 pigment { gradient y color_map { [0.0 color rgb <20/255,60/255,99/255>] [0.33 color rgb <200/255,15/255,137/255>] [1.0 color rgb <255/255,255/255,255/255>] } } finish { ambient 0 #if (version>=3.7) emission 0 #end diffuse 0.2 brilliance 1 phong 0.0 phong_size 20 specular 0.0 roughness 1 reflection { 1 } conserve_energy } normal { bumps 0.05 // smaller value = less blured reflection translate < rand(S), rand(S), rand(S) >*100 scale 0.001 // scale it small(0.001) or big(1000) } ] #declare Ind = Ind+1; #end } } no_reflection } ...but it ends up with this error: "\\.\LDDIncludes\ldd_metalic_blur_space2_base_plane.inc" line 32: Parse Error: No matching } in 'normal', undeclared identifier 'scal' found instead ..and it looks like this in POV-Ray window: plane { y, min_extent(ldd_model).y texture { average texture_map { #declare Ind = 0; #declare S = seed(0); #while(Ind < 40) // higher number of iterations=less artifacts [1 pigment { gradient y color_map { [0.0 color rgb <20/255,60/255,99/255>] [0.33 color rgb <200/255,15/255,137/255>] [1.0 color rgb <255/255,255/255,255/255>] } } finish { ambient 0 #if (version>=3.7) emission 0 #end diffuse 0.2 brilliance 1 phong 0.0 phong_size 20 specular 0.0 roughness 1 reflection { 1 } conserve_energy } normal { bumps 0.05 // smaller value = less blured reflection translate < rand(S), rand(S), rand(S) >*100 scal Anyone know what is wrong?
  2. :) yes, I know that, being webdesigner myself, I just wanted to know if there is some "internal" technique inside LDD for this aha, for some reason I didn't think about it like this, don't know why OK, so I try something - thanx for advice
  3. WOW, that is super - I never known that, thanx...but is there option to change background of the building guide to correspond to that SPACE Classic (or any other) theme from their old building plans (mid 80's)?
  4. Please, anyone know how to "make base plane gradient filled" in POV-Ray? Something like this old Space Classic set (#6971) from mid 80's here:
  5. Great article, thanx...see this one I found, also interview with him about his mini sets, http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/349429
  6. Jesus, I do not get it - how is it even possible to not having any idea about something I created??????? Or do not care about my history or ppl who make the history happen???? As a child I thought TLG is something like magical family forest - idealistic, good, kind, knowing its past, having interest for their workers and developers, always smailing...but more and more I get frustrated and having feeling of something rodden...I still do not understand how is this even possible happen...sad, definitely
  7. Exactly - that makes it, thank you very much! Exactly - for me neither...strange, and what about POV-Ray resetting its POVRAY.INI after PC restart - do you have the same issue?
  8. ...so NO, it has absolutely no effect on CPU usage + I noticed after PC restart POVRAY.INI resets to its initial state, it is without added line Library_Path="\\.\LDDIncludes" - what is going on here, anyone can tell, please?
  9. OK, thanx - will try that later today...
  10. yayks - that's fantastic!!! I am happy I am not alone who thinks like this and who'd be fascinated if something like this ever happens... BTW: thax a lot for the name of one of those "holly old-time LEGO designers" - Jens Nygaard Knudsen (if I understood it right? )...would be great if you could paste a link to that interview...?
  11. Also I would suggest to implement 2 new functions: BRICKS SUMMARY REPORT: Primary I am using LDD as a development tool for my own Space sets intended as "a building plans/test platform for multifunctionality" for real LEGO assembly when I buy needed bricks in LEGO store later, but it is real pain to count all needed bricks and their color mutations used in actual model "by hand", not saying I can always miss something etc., so from this point of view it'd be really really great if something like "bricks summary report" exist in LDD - one would "press a button in menu" and new window would appear with let's say 5 options: - PRINT: report direct output to printer - TXT: simple text report output, every brick on new line - HTML: report output with little photo of the brick, pics stored in subdir in the root of the .html file - PDF: complete report in .pdf format - JPG: output report as .jpg pic (70% compression would be enough for this kind of stuff) SCENES: Add simple scenes exactly as in Google SketchUp - picture would "morph" between actual position and next scene after the respective scene is clicked, with ability to set morph time for every scene + in FILE MENU add option to output this as a simple movie (one could set appropriate codec in user system form a simple dropdown list)
  12. Did something go wrong on this topic? Cos all photos are gone...?
  13. QUESTION: Is there some option, that when POV-Ray renders it will not "eat" all oif my CPU COres power? I have 6-core CPU and when it renders I cannot do anything else cos there is no "headroom" for other applications...hm? I don't care if it'll renders whole day, just to let some room in CPUs for other apps
  14. sorry, it looks still too inexactly for building, but interestlingly enough for further development (if prices drops looot looooot loooot )
  15. Sounds like some really old-time LEGO romance to me...or something
  16. ey guys, I can only say - when it comes to LEGO stores - with a salty tear in my eye that you do not know how lucky you are for where you live, realy! You got so many LEGO Shops in your countries, heh, for example here we have NO ORIGINAL LEGO SHOP AT ALL (as long as I know), hah - when it comes to this I still feel like in socialism from the past
  17. well, just yesterday I thought about something similiar, as being builder of my own SPACE Classic theme sets wanting to achieve design and color resemblance of those I sorted it like this: 1. period: BLUE-GREY-TRANS.YELLOW 2. period: WHITE-BLUE-TRANS.BLUE 3. period: GREY-BLACK-TRANS.GREEN 4. period: BLACK-YELLOW-TRANS.YELLOW
  18. hope they open one here in Slovakia once, or even in Czech Rep. (but do not believe that much
  19. MMMB 40061 Igloo and "helicopter" looks realy nice to me
  20. I do not know why but maybe I will be the only one that never understood this extra big sets of real buildings/objects...maybe if it was something fictonal, hmm, as LEGO HIstorian wrote: it looks really complicated and time consuming (but OK< on the other hand I know there are people that like exactly that: building one set for days - hope I do not sound rude)
  21. wow, you are lucky...hope me get there too once as well (Space Classic-like themes)
  22. 1589 Town Square Set...probably the first LEGO that looks like the ones I remember when I was a kid
  23. this is very rare and interesting...wonder if there were also some "space theme" bricks?
  24. yea, book isn't bad but I'd like the website idea more as it would be free to anyone wheres book can buy only those who has money...anyway I agree with you on that
