  1. I have a life, thank you. And there's no lurking. Yes, I do point out the things I dislike. I'd point out the things I liked, but dang it all, there's just not much of it these days. I find the only redeeming quality in most recent sets is that I can buy them for pieces to stock up for MOCs, and that's about it. Besides, I don't see all the positive comment people getting told to balance it out with some negative. Irony is grand. I avoid all your comments because they're always negative. You come off as a fan who doesn't know how to say no. See, it's great fun to turn it around! <<DV>>
  2. He's poorly built, and uses some of the same techniques I grew bored with last year (the lower legs, specifically). MOCers did the Hordika head thighs a long time ago, and I didn't like it then, and I don't know. The colors are messy, two-tone pieces suck. His head looks terrible, and is in no way befitting the character description (personality, not looks) we were given. The hands are bulbous and odd looking, and what's with the Takadox blades on the chest? He looks fat and stout, and not in a cool way. Plus, the whole 'mutated' thing is clearly another story excuse for something that doesn't match what we were told to begin with. It's a mess. <<DV>>
  3. After all, no one should ever deviate from the norm! Grow up, and lay off the personal affrontage, here, and on BZP. You don't have to throw insults to make your point. You like it. Yay for you. Enjoy yourself. <<DV>>
  4. Good luck with that, it's a toa of air. <<DV>>
  5. No thanks. Please, take it away. It burns.
  6. How very Megabloks! <<DV>>
  7. Man, that -is- looking on the bright side of the current set/story lineup. <<DV>>
  8. Detailed and articulated =/= good sets. They can be detailed and articulated, and still have unacceptable gaps in the build, poor set design, and an overall unpleasing aesthetic. Also, I gave Bionicle a break. I started with them back in the day, and faithfully followed until it just wasn't any good anymore. <<DV>>
  9. I'm not Jinzo, but it seems to me more like a veiled, layered crit of TLG itself. Maybe a dig at Bonesiii too. What with his 'ruthlessly elegant' crap. <<DV>>
  10. Turaga Dume told the Nuva that no, they didn't fall from the heavens, their canisters, with the Nuva inside them, were shot from a different island. <<DV>>
  11. Good point. It's hard to take away from 'trashy' and 'lazy'. <<DV>>
  12. Good God, man, are you blind? '05's Titans had solid body construction. So did '06's. You couldn't see such horrid gaps in them. Also, connection holes in the arm and leg pieces are to be expected, I'd be upset if they weren't there. Holes in the construction are a completely different story, and 'Master Builders' over at LEGO should know that. <<DV>>
  13. I DO NOT UNDERSTAND HOW A BEING WITH HOLES IN HIS TORSO IS COOL. I AM SO CONFUSED. <<DV>>
  14. Wow, the 'Titans' look terrible in better poses. What the heck, man? The red guy has like, no torso, and what torso he does have, is hole-filled. What a way to waste my money. And Hydraxon is a glorified toa, like Axonn before him. Wahoo. Yuck. <<DV>>
  15. Does no one read through the topics? Greg posted in there saying the 'z' was a typo, and it's really 'Spinax.' He posted it on the second page of that topic. Aie. <<DV>>
  16. The term BIONICLE has always meant 'Biological Chronicle'. It's the meshing of those two words. It still stands for this today. Affirmed by LEGO. I don't for the life of me know how you got that BIONICLE stands for 'biomechanical.' That's the description of those who live in this 'universe' (except, you know, the newly official 'organic only' beings). <<DV>>
  17. It's a secret. ;-) Because he's a disgruntled ORIGINAL fan. We always get to be right. <<DV>>
  18. Aesthetically they're hideous. And not in a good way. Jaller's got some sort of pot-belly going on, and his mask sucks. Hardcore. Hewkii makes me cry. In a bad way. His mask, arms, etc, all look terrible. Aesthetically, I cannot get behind any of the sets I've seen so far, including the boxed sets. Technically, as in how they're built, rather than how they look, they're the same old, same old. Boring. I'll, as always, scoop 'em up for pieces, but the sets themselves are disappointingly sucky. Worse than the Inika. I'm debating on whether or not they suck as bad as the Hordika did. <<DV>>
  19. When I saw the Inika, I said they sucked. When I bought the Inika, I said they sucked. When I took them apart and added their pieces to my MOCing bins, I still said they sucked. Because they did. ALSO, you're confusing two different fanbases. The one that says they all suck pipes up when pictures are released, while the 'UBER TRUE LOYAL FANS' defend them in small numbers and tell the 'they suck' people to shut up. Then, when they're released, the 'UBER TRUE LOYAL FANS' declare EN MASSE that they're awesome, drowning out those who said they sucked, and still think they suck. <<DV>>
  20. *n* *n* I want to like them. I really do. But I can't in good conscience do so. *sigh*
  21. Since the kids like heroes, let's get some hero sets that aren't toa. Something new. We still have grand and epic toa. Heroes like the toa were in 2001, prophesied, mighty, heroic, larger than life. Then give us other heroes, heroes who aren't that awesome, but are still heroes. I mean, we get different kinds of enemies every year, why not new types of heroes too? <<DV>>
  22. Try almost three times that. The average American yearly income is $39k. Anyway, here's what I got: -New digital camera, 5.1 megapixels, which is 3 more than the camera I've been using, with 12x Optical zoom. -Hitch -Both Bourne Identity and Supremacy -Ehlek -All four of the '07 small sets -Audio A's 'Underdog,' Jars of Clay's 'The Eleventh Hour,' and FM Static's 'Critically Ashamed' CDs -$50 Visa gift card -$20 check from step-grand-mother -Calendar -Oklahoma State University blanket -Relient K hoodie -Pajama pants -Green Bay Packers hoodie -Lots of Starburst candy -Beanie -New razor blades -Star Wars: Legacy of the Force: 'Tempest' book -SD card for new camera -Camera bag for new camera -Cashews That's having two Christmases, one with my mother, one with my father. Plus a few from grandparents and the like. <<DV>>
  23. Not everything that comes in a box is a 'Titan'. The '05 sets were the first ones to have that classification. Which means that not all box sets are Titans. Yeesh. <<DV>>
  24. I was referring to the blade width. Rapiers aren't wide. Neither were Civil War era sabers. Katana's aren't often any wider than half the palm length, and this sword's width is about that width too. About half his 'hand'. Not all swords have to be 'OMGFINALFANTASY!1!1' wide. In fact, I personally despise swords that wide. Kopaka's blade is about as thick as I'll go, outside the Lewa Katanas. They don't need to be thicker than that. Prepare for a flaying, then! :-P <<DV>>
  25. You're not allowed to review MOCs any longer. Nothing new? New torso design, new lower body design, new upper leg design, new lower leg design, newish lower arm design, etc. Also, small sword? It's still bigger than a fencing sword. I mean, you gonna walk up to an old school French Musketeer and tell him his sword is small? Aie. <<DV>>
