If you're afraid of TLG retaliation, announcing you're going to send these illegal pictures via PM is going to incriminate you just as much as posting them would. SO, you might as well just post them. And if you don't, why doesn't the first person who receives them just post them here? If you don't want to, one of us will. No need for some epic PM list. <<DV>>

We get a set of Makuta 2 next year. BZP OGD Clearer picture of "Pohatu" <<DV>>
-
Bah. They're not innovative when MOCists did it first more than a year ago. But other than that, I do like this set. The mask is far more awesome than I thought it would be, and for that alone I like the set. <<DV>>

Bionicle story / character discussion topic.

I hope there's at least a small semblance of resemblance to the old Nuva masks, in these Newva.. More semblance than the Nuva masks had to the Olda masks. <<DV>> -

Bionicle story / character discussion topic.
dviddy replied to JINZONINGEN73's topic in LEGO Action Figures
Completely fake, one of them is a ToM MOC. It was said in the other topic, but thought I'd throw it in here too. And that Greg quote almost sounds like confirmation on the Nuva... <<DV>> -
Greg has said that the set distribution will be different this coming year than it has been before. So that's one comment in favor of the names. As for Swert, I've never trusted the fellow. Him and I had several AIM conversations years back, and while he would say one thing over IM, then say the exact opposite on-site. Suffice to say, I haven't really held his words in high regard since. I have no opinion on E-T either way. He's done things I find irritating, but that's no doubt due to his age, not anything else. I'm probably far too easily annoyed. And of course not, crappy set designs and poor characterization or not, I like the darned thing. Don't ask me why. <<DV>>

Where? BZP is down, and has been for a week and a half, Lugnet doesn't care about Bionicle (or anything that isn't whiney-mecha-builders), and the only other site where there's someone who can confirm or deny is MoD, and I can't see Greg supplying that info there either. <<DV>>

Yes I want the launchers to be easy dangit. The problem is, they're too frustrating for most people to keep trying until they can figure them out. Simplistic building is insulting, impossible to use launchers are not. <<DV>>
-
Because they don't work well? I gave up on the blasted things as soon as I realized that if I fired them the way the picture said to, they didn't go anywhere. Worst 'launcher' ever. And though I hate the Cordak blasters with a passion (HATE), at least they fire five of the six consistently. But not as awesomely as Rhotuka. <3 <<DV>>
-
Squids are friggin' impossible compared to Rhotuka. Rhotuka were fun. I liked them. Though there were too many of them on everything. That was lame. <<DV>>

Do you have Iruini? He doesn't have arms past his knees, arms longer than his legs, A torso two lengths deep, but eight lengths wide, etc. <3 <<DV>>

I agree that the Mahri are a step up from the Inika. Thank God for real masks again! While the Mahri may have given us the most individuality, I feel the Olda still give us the most character. I don't know why, but their masks and builds evoke more character and feeling than any pose or 'face' the Inika and Mahri can be put in. Though build-wise, my favorite toa are the Hagah. Iruini <3. That was a nice set. I'd buy toa that looked like that any day of the week. Noble? Check. Proportional? Check. Lovely mask? Check. <<DV>>

I'm thinking that not every product like that in a movie is product placement. The MD, GM cars, Xbox, Nokia, and probably Apple were all obvious and overt product placement. I don't know if I'd count the Army, as well, their were soldiers in the film as 'main' characters. How else would they show them as soldiers without them being in the Army? Prime has two toys, the one we've seen in plastic is his pre-Earth form. The other one is his Earth form. But that other guy is Blitzwing. He's a triple-changer with multiple personalities. Hasbro said the only gimmick in this line is the fact that the toys transform. So I tend to doubt the light up idea. But yeah, this is the first time since BW I've been interested in a line. Lugnut is love. Sweet, sweet love. <<DV>>

Toa are supposed to be hollow-McHollow?

Piraka limbs BAD. Tsk tsk. Oh, and yeah, too much system! Oh man, there's like, two pieces in Matoro! And eight on Hewkii! BZP dislikes system and Bionicle mixed! Oh, no! :-P Seriously though, fix the elbows and give them real arms. <<DV>>

I thought RotJ was the best out of all six. Always have. <<DV>>

The movie had giant robots, that turned into vehicles. How this somehow becomes 'Not Transformers', I don't know. You don't like it? Fine. But whether you like it or not (and audience response was clearly and overwhelmingly positive, you're in the minority. Welcome to being a minor, bitter, unhappy fan. But unfortunately, especially as most Geewunners who decided Bay was raping their childhood turned around, and posted positive reviews of the movie, your minority viewpoint is now even less powerful. It sucks, but it's how it works. Whether you like it or not, this is Transformers. Whether some like it or not, Beast Machines was Transformers. Beast Wars was Transformers. Fans don't get to decide what is and isn't part of the label. Hasbro does. You can decide which parts you do and don't like, and disregard accordingly. But this IS Transformers. GIANT ROBOTS THAT TURN INTO SOMETHING ELSE = TRANSFORMERS. <<DV>>

New TF: Animated toy images and protos: Blackarachnia Bulkhead Robot Bulkhead Vehicle Bumblebee Robot and Vehicle Slag? Grimlock Group Shot (Prowl, Optimus, Bumblebee) Lugnut (<3) Megatron (fully colored image in the cartoon snip on-line) Prime close-up Prime robot Soundwave Starscream Robot Starscream Vehicle If you check some of the SDCC07 coverage on-line, you can find a snippet of the new cartoon. Looks like at least one more Dinobot (Swoop). These are surprisingly accurate to the new show's character images. Some of them are pretty awesome. Some of them are awesome, then have odd heads (I'm looking at you, Starscream). Bulkhead is just crazy with those lil itty bitty legs.

Problems with BS / Is BrickShelf no more ???
dviddy replied to john cleese's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Sure, bandwidth. Except Maj, which from what I understand shares not only a server with BS, but most of the coding, and even files and protocols themselves, which brings in more bandwidth than BS, which gains near twice as many files a day as BS, is still there. There is no reason for any of us to think anything but a purposeful and intentional shut down. Maj still exists. All the BS files still exist, we know, we saw them on the backdoor. Then the backdoor was shut, and locked. There was no way this was anything but intentional. You know something we don't? Fine. Tell us what it is, or stop lording it over us. Kevin has proven himself an ineffective communicator with the on-line community, AFOL, or otherwise. He may have provided an essential service to the community, but his aloof status within the community, and his love of 'plug-pulling' is more than just a disrespectful slap in the face of the community he 'served'. But what's worse than his lack of communication is your unexplainable 'I know something you don't know, now shut up, whining vultures' attitude. I lost five years worth of MOC pictures to this stunt Kevin is pulling. YOUR attitude is a slap in the face to the community itself, and if this is what the AFOL leadership looks like, I'm glad I've stayed out of it. Those of us who lost so very, very much have every right to be angry and upset. A simple two days worth of notice would have sufficed. But this silence, and sudden plug-pulling? Inexcusable. And your excuses and pandering to the elitist Lugnet crowd is not going to help things in the community. You claim the community is unable to do anything, and is far too divided, and so it's laughable. Yet by making such comments, you do nothing to add to the unity in the community you belong to, and at the same time attack. <<DV>> -

CRAPCRAPCRAP! There goes five years worth of MOCs. While I would say only the last two years worth of MOCs were anything truly interesting, I still have old favorites from before I owned this computer. I had most of them saved on a disc, but when we switched OS, from ME to XP, the disc wouldn't read. Brickshelf was all I had for those MOCs. <<DV>> -
Save your money and buy Classics Prime and Megatron. Both Prime and Megatron in the 2-pack are quite pathetic. I haven't seen a favorable review anywhere for them, and having a brief chance to play with the two, they were pretty bad. <<DV>>

Rules regarding the build itself are basically no painted pieces, and keep it roughly 25/75 system/technic (for rules purposes, Bionicle is still considered technic). The last one is giving me a bit of trouble on the site, but by both piece count and overall body percentage, the MOC is right in line with the rules. As for a backstory, all the admins ever gave us was that Hapori Tohu is the heart of BZPower. The mascot and figurehead. That's about it, really. Yeah, I've actually been unable to build a MOC that doesn't marry the two piece genres into one for awhile now. I can't imagine truly impressive Bionicle-esque MOCs that don't use both to some degree, honestly. And with TLG's cross-branding with the Bionicle playsets, I'm surprised more don't do it. <<DV>>

1/2/ Made for a contest on BZPower, where one had to build the mascot. Hence the head with the gears behind it. <<DV>>
