  1. Saw the movie Tuesday night in a sold-out crowd. AWESOME. Also, if anyone wants to find me a 6-inch Titaniums Cheetor.... <<DV>>
  2. Actually, I built two of them. :P <<DV>>
  3. Sorry, I left out a crucial 'not' in there on accident. Mind moving faster than the fingers and all that jazz. <<DV>>
  4. You've clearly not been apart of the on-line fandom long enough. Otherwise you wouldn't scoff at the works of Cajun, THRAXISjr, etc by saying you've never seen a complex and advanced MOC. What an insult to the MOCing community you are. No, you can't see how a piece can be used by just looking at it. You think you can? Go look at Cajun's Rack and then build it, since you can see how a MOC is built just by looking at it. Go look at any MOC with more than one layer and tell me how it's built. Go ahead and tell me how this is built. Do it. Since the construction is so very visible when you look at it, tell me how it's built. Step-by-step. I really want to see how you'd build the torsos in the humanoid MOCs. No, in the end you're not a stupid idiot because you insist on knowing things you have no real knowledge of. Not because you can't make OMFG MOCs, not because you insist that you don't need to build a MOC at all to see the infinite number of ways pieces can be put together, sometimes not even using the connection parts TLG has deigned to give us. Because you don't see the ways the thin tubing can be used to weave pieces together. How rods and pins can fit into holes or gaps where a piece cannot connect, but can be held by friction. Because these are things that with no firsthand experience with, you could never truly understand or appreciate. As a non-MOCing person, the only thing you can truly appreciate is aesthetics. And from what I've seen there are far better and sensible critics to be found than you. <<DV>>
  5. I'm sorry, but building any LEGO set does not give one the technical aptitude to understand the arrangement and engineering behind an advanced and complex MOC. Especially in the Bionicle realm. You may have built the 2001 Rahi, but that in no way means you understand the engineering, structure, or part usage in a MOC say, Jinzo, Cajun, THRAXISjr, etc and so forth built. I'll give you that MOCs need to be aesthetically pleasing for the masses. I'm one of the biggest proponents of said idea. I don't care if a MOC is full of new and exciting ideas never before seen. If it looks bad, it looks bad. But that in no way means that the average layman can understand the aptitude and skill needed to build those MOCs. Speaking of which... These are an example of MOCs I think look awful, but others like. <<DV>>
  6. Hell no. Especially not the way it's used by TLG and the lame "I want to build the same toa TLG made!" idiot MOCers. HAHA. Coming from the guy who said Mata torso were useless! Fortunately, as I have yet to see something you've built, I can ignore your wonderful expert opinion. :D <<DV>>
  7. I'm glad the first part of the Nuva's new story was put up. That's about all I care about. <<DV>>
  8. Neck. Horse Body. Arms. Arms. Etc. The original Toa bodies were proportional to the bodies. They weren't eight lengths wide, with four length waists, two lengths deep. Yes, they were blockier. And thank God. They were realistically sized. Five wide, four deep, and three at the waist. These new ones are skinny, wide, and squat, with all these weird things sticking out in odd places, with odd holes in odd places. The Toa Olda bodies were solid, and they looked awesome. The new sets are gangly, tall, poorly proportioned, with bulk in odd places. They're unattractive. <<DV>>
  9. Hey, look! It's Dekar- I mean, Hydraxon! LAME STORY FTL. <<DV>>
  10. Based loosely on the Loch Ness Monster. Basically inspired by, and a few details based on various descriptions of Nessie. <<DV>>
  11. I'm not going to vote, because I too think there should be a third option: 3- Both. It's good to get people thinking and pondering, but the way in which it is presented is unbalanced and lacking in taste. I think Christians do the world a disservice when they claim the Bible to be all about God's love and sacrifice, and about men being at peace. We should tell it like it is: It's a book that chronicles men and women as they wrestle with what it means to be human, all the while wrestling with the perfect words of God in an imperfect world. It's full of the shortcomings of being human: rape, murder, thievery, incest, and everything evil under the sun. It's full of the wonders of mankind: peace, love, brotherhood, community, service, and all that comes with it. I think it's good that the "Rev" seems to be attempting to create dialogue within the community, and I, as a Christian, encourage questions and doubts, because I don't think we do anyone good when we leave things like this out of the equation. However, I find the presentation in a lot of these to be rather tasteless (such as the slavery, and marriage ones posted here earlier). I'd wish he created scenes from the 'good' parts of the Bible too, but I think that might undermine his point. <<DV>>
  12. He has a silver Pridak blade on his back. <<DV>>

  14. I'm glad for an extra color. Though I wish it were an older mask (Metru-era, perhaps) in a new color. That'd be awesome. But still, a new mask in another color is always a plus. One of my biggest gripes is new masks in only one color, used over and over (I'm looking at you, Great Ruru).
  15. I just wish that red matoran would have a recoloured mask. The masks have been the most frustrating parts of sets since the Metru became Hordika. We just get the same ones over and over. I'd be okay with this, but they're always in the same friggin' colours again. The blue one has a new coloured mask. Why not the red one too? <<DV>>

Hmm. Must've been something worded or read wrong. Kanta's knees bent, as his leg design was basically the same as Matoro's, Nuparu's, and Jaller's (I need to build something that isn't a character re-imagining...) <<DV>>

Which ones? I've built movable knees into everything for the past like, three years or more. Even if the pictures don't have them bent, they still do. It's hard to take a good picture with the knees all bent up and stuff. I'm too OCD and perfectionistic to allow goofy pictures, so that's what happens to a lot of the action pose shots. I also didn't have much space on that shelf to take a fully bent knee picture. Defilak and Dekar come up to the bottom of his crotch. <<DV>>

Heck no. I used that hand design long before TLG did. Fall '06 <<DV>>
  19. Infected Lewa Gold Mask Lewa Side Unfortunately, few of the pictures caught the gear on the back. It's a feature I'm quite in love with, though it is mere decoration. So yes. I have very few green Technic bits, I wish I had more so I could lose the black on the back of the arms. I also wish for some battle droid or Exo-Force robot arms in lime or normal green. <<DV>>
  20. Member 809, Darth Vader. Nice to meet you. ;) It's nice being part of the first two percent or so members over there. It's also fun to be a five year veteran. [/braggadocio] :D
  21. The basic principle behind the leg has been used since '05. Take the piston out, and you have almost the same design as Roodaka or Sidorak's legs. Same with Axonn and Brutaka's legs. A sem-complicated upper leg, with a one piece, shorter than it should be, lower leg. Now with pistons! It's boring and repetitive. As is all the friggin' humanoid boxed sets. Gadunka's the only one we've gotten in forever that's not a beast with a rider. He's the first one in forever that's just a rahi. I want more of these. I'm really glad to hear the new toa comes with a vehicle, because I miss those too (The Boxor is probably the coolest set ever). <<DV>>
