We don't delete topics often as a rule. Close, yes. But leaving them there shows other members what not to do. Your topic is still there somewhere, though if there was leaked materials or other such things, then it has also been edited, I can guarantee that.

It wasn't in a press release, and it wasn't part of the planned talk the TLG rep gave. We asked him, and he answered.

What the deal is, is that they can make one shade of purple with, say, ABS. However, they cannot match that shade with PC or PE. This is unacceptable, and goes against the TLG colour quality control guidelines. While discrepancies are allowed, they are only allowed within a range, and if they can't fit into that range, the colour is dropped, and a different colour to replace it in TLGs limited colour pallet is created and used. The QC guy said that only 60% of lego parts are ABS, the rest are made from over twenty other plastic types. Nothing you guys can say will change what has been done. Seriously, it's time to stop bitching and go on with your lives.

ABS is one type of plastic, policarbonite is another. Different strengths and designs are made possible by using different plastics for different pieces. While more than half of all parts are made of ABS, the rest are made from over twenty or so different types of plastic. The reason we never saw the old Technic purple in system sets was because it couldn't be used for those different plastics. The last two are NOT reasons purple is being discontinued, and I blame Shiloh for putting out a vague story on BZP for this error. The problem is colour consistency. You HAVE seen anomalies in your purple, Jinzo. You just didn't put 2 and 2 together. Yes, within the old purple, there are no differences. Within the new purples, things all look the same. Etc and so on. But the anomaly here is the fact that we have these different shades. Because these shades exist specifically because purple cannot be standardized between plastic types. You have three or four different shades of purple because otherwise you'd have anomalies, and then the fans would be bitching about that. THIS is the reason purple is disappearing. There are not other factors. Part integrity and aging are non-factors, and if people would READ all the posts, they would know this by now.

It wasn't about the fragility of the bricks, but about the difficulty in getting the purples to match across the different sorts of plastics used. The colours weren't bright enough, weren't dark enough, and settled differently in the twenty-or-so different plastic types TLG uses in their pieces. This is the reason we've had so many different purple shades these last few years. At least, that's what he said in the panel. I was the guy who asked about teal.

For BZPower's BBC Contest 50! Gallery So, it's not quite as awesome as I wanted it to be. Man this is larger than the size I'm used to building in... Anyway, the name is a reference to Cajun's pseudonym, because I jacked that wing design from him! <<DV>>

I actually prefer Onua's method of propulsion better than any of the other Mistoa. Tahu's body jets make me angry, and Gali's feet jets look goofy.
-
On the flip side, Onua's pretty nice once you give him his hunch back.
-
All of them, sans both Hewkiis and Kongu Mahri.

I bought Tahu and Gali. I can't even explain how bad they are. Gali could possibly be the worst Toa set I've ever bought. Truly and fully.

BrickFair in DC area! (East Coast in U.S.)

I'll be there. -
I want the Lewa Nuva from the verhicle because I think his vehicle mask is more Lewa Nuva than his Phantoka-version mask.
-
You did. It just so happens TLG did too.

Why is this a bad thing? Having buildable launchers means that you no longer have huge chunks of almost-useless plastic lying around. The pieces for the new blasters look pretty sweet, I can see many different uses for them individually, and they won't even look like I stuck a giant blaster on something! This, my friends, is the way to have a win-win-win situation. (Though I'd still rather not have blasters at all)

AMERITOA WILL SAVE THE DAY! Didn't notice this before. This is a good thing! Also a good thing!

Oh dear. You don't need a blog. :\ BZP seems to be experiencing an IPS driver failure, something wrong with the database. Perhaps they're doing that big prune they were discussing? I'm not sure if that would mess with the database or not....

Bionicle 2001 and beyond: An essay of personal thoughts.

And the bolded word makes his armour practically USELESS. Honestly, I stopped reading after that. I can't for the life of me figure out why people like these two toa. Jaller's weirdly jumbly in the tumbly, gappy, and his mask is out of place with the rest of the masks we've had for seven years, and Hahli is almost hunch-backed, with one of those damn backwards torsos (seriously LEGO, wtf?), and crappy breaky lime pieces. -

Oy. I feel that as the more used colour, the one that came with Nuju gets to be ice blue. Besides, I always thought of Kopaka's as 'periwinkle'. :P
-
Then what eye piece came with Nuju Metru??

Go straight to jail. Do not pass go, and do not collect $200.

Really? I always assumed they'd be stockier than many other Matoran, as they tend to live in colder, mountainous regions. So, wider, stockier builds, a la Scandinavians and other colder, mountain-dwelling folks.

? I fail to see why people like this Takanuva. He's so goofy looking. Too thin, gangly, goofy claw hands, and those legs look awful. What's with the holes in the lower legs? Poor set design, that. I don't understand what anyone sees in this set. It's awful.

Greg has said constantly that Metru-Nui is THE Northernmost landmass in the Matoran Universe. Which means everything else is further south. The Pit was originally in a dome, right? And Mahri-Nui landed on top of it's dome, breaking it, letting the flooding water in, right?

Wait... didn't you discuss it in the last post you made prior to this one? I don't think you get to run off so haughtily, then.
