  1. I see how you could think that, but within the context of the discussion it seemed pretty clear that he was just thinking up future HF possibilities (albeit vague ones).

    Taskar

Usually pneumatic t-bars, similar to Hydraxon's hands.

Nah, I really don't like the prefab hands. I feel that if all of the MOC is moveable, such as the limbs, then the fingers shouldn't be one solid block. Maybe that's silly of me, since I don't give them posable toes or jaws all the time. I don't know. :P

    Taskar

Thanks Zero. Yeah, he definitely needed hands. I don't know why I didn't give him any. Could've been my lack of gunmetal fingers. XD
  5. Boy, that's a really specific suggestion... :P

    Taskar

That's quite flattering, thank you. :D It varies, honestly. A lot of the time I'll just be fiddling around with parts, get a specific design that I like, and extrapolate. Oftentimes I'll build with a color that I haven't used in a while or a color scheme that I find interesting and unique. Consequently, what I build is decided on color (because I only have certain parts in certain colors; for example, no bulky mainly-green MOCs since I have minimal green armor). Other MOCs are built to accomodate a head, arm, leg, weapon, et cetera. Sometimes if I've built multiple MOCs in a team or group, and I have enough parts to build another, I'll create one that's what's missing from the group (for example, if I had a red and orange bulky MOC I might build a green and blue thin MOC to go with it).

Oh. I figured that the arms themselves were quite bulky already and didn't need to have more than a simple shield / chainsaw addition. :P Thanks Mego. I usually try to make them look at least somewhat organic. Counting all the masks on the armor, I'm pretty sure I used six in the build... Kanohi make great armor. ;)
  8. I suppose they could... sort of almost make it work... with a lot of add-ons like Bruizer's rock piece or Frost Beast's fur... Actually, no. Though I wouldn't mind some HF sets with a more Bionicley (so sorry) feel to them.

The legs are often where I start with my MOCs, especially the bulky ones. And I do wish I had enough tan to make a mostly-tan MOC instead of one with tan accents, but alas... XD Thanks again Zach!

    Gavram

Yeah, I was confused by the color of the mask- it's the regular silver '01 Miru, but it's not the regular silver color, it's greenish-tinted for some reason...I don't know. Anyway, thanks Zach. :P

Thanks Warhead. It looked a bit odd with an empty space between the legs, so I added the armor there, and I'm pretty happy with it. :)
  12. CLICK THE IMAGE ABOVE TO VIEW THE FLICKR GALLERY! Another MOC for you today. This one is Taskar, an immensely bulky MOC I started building on a whim after deciding that I needed something heavier to post. The bulky armor limited flexibility, specifically on the ankles and shoulders (yes, he does have upper and lower arms). Built in late January of this year. C&CC appreciated.
  13. Nice job making the red side look quite organic and the gunmetal side look very robotic. In that respect the original set was... eh. I also like the look of the claw on the right side.
  14. Sports heroes and villains? Well that's certainly an interesting idea. Can't say I like it- but hey, that's just my personal opinion. Who knows, maybe it could somehow work fine as a set line. I do definitely agree that we need a female villain.

    Gavram

    Thanks Infernum- chainsaws indeed. XD
  16. Chro

    Gavram

Well, uh... they're chainsaws. :P Anything short of huge custom Technic chainsaws (which would weigh down the arms) wouldn't be too bulky.
  17. Chro

    Gavram

Thanks, I somehow hadn't noticed that yet. If I still had him built I'm add some gears. ;D
  18. Click the image above to view the gallery on MOCpages. Here's another MOC of mine, Gavram. No backstory or anything, just a guy with a pair of chainsaw arm shields. Then again, does anyone really need anything else if they have chainsaw arm shields? This MOC is pretty recent- it was made in March of this year. C&CC appreciated.
  19. For HF, I'd like to see underwater, sky, underground, etc., things we've already seen, but done differently for HF.
  20. I like the internal design; it can be difficult to attach Inika armor to a custom torso and still have it look quite nice, so good job on that. :) As for what I don't like about the torso... hmm. I'd suggest filling in the spaces behind the area of the Inika chestplate that seems empty when viewed from the back. However, doing that would probably mess up the arm movement, so I don't know.
  21. Ergh... seeing the rendered version of a transparent purple head (not sure what the correct color term is) makes me want an actual one all the more.
  22. Cool, I quite like the torso. Coincidentally I recently made a MOC with a very similar color scheme.
  23. My Reapa lasted about... twenty minutes? And that's only because my time was occupied with opening other gifts. (Got him and Evo for Christmas in 2011.)
  24. Thanks! I needed something to cover up the midsection, and Metru armor wasn't fitting, so I used the Vahi... could've looked a bit better, I suppose, LOL. Thank you. If you notice, all the sockets in the MOC are trans light blue, not just the hands. ;D
  25. Thanks Nova. I tried to get a similar block of blue with the knee area (Carapar armor + size 3 HF shell), too.
