  1. A few days ago, as keeping with his... tradition of getting everything in last-minute, he was online briefly over on MOCpages to post a contest entry five minutes before the deadline, but hasn't showed up since then.
  2. As VS mentioned, the mysterious Goriz topic
  3. I thought Nick was running it, considering he started all the official topics, etc.
  4. I really like this MOC. The tail of the slug becoming a huge claw tentacle thing is an excellent concept. Tanma, one of the Matoran from the Phantoka wave.
  5. Nice build, Grayson, but to be quite honest I see barely any resemblance between the original and mutated forms.
  6. I really like this revamp. He manages to be hugely bulky while still maintaining a good skeletal appearance, at least from my perspective. You mean the pneumatic T bars? Everybody uses those for hands. :P
  7. I don't think it was meant to be a version of Breez... just a coincidence with the name and color scheme. Of course, I could be wrong.Pretty decent build overall, but I think the color organization could be a bit better, instead of mostly lime on top and all silver on the legs... probably an intentional look but I don't think it really works here.
  8. Great build. The way the armor is layered and angled gives him a nice alien-armor sort of feel... and the head, of course, is awesome.
  9. There are plenty of times where people attempt the MOC-that-looks-like-a-set thing and fail. This time you pulled it off excellently.
  10. Welp, that's Steve for ya. :P
  11. Nice build, Bacem. My first entry (and maybe final, if the timing doesn't work out): Chi Focus Talons. These are a pair of claw weapons that, when you place a Chi orb in the handle, can focus its Chi power through the claws in a powerful blast or blade form. One claw is owned by the Ravens and one by the Eagles. Chi Focus Claws 1 Chi Focus Claws 2 Raven Tribe Claw 1 Raven Tribe Claw 2 Eagle Tribe Claw 1 Eagle Tribe Claw 2
  12. That counts for sure. I guess I just didn't think of Nidhiki, or Brutaka for that matter, because when they were introduced they were already evil (or in Brutaka's case, just not good).
  13. Hahaha, this is brilliant. The first picture caught me way off guard, but had me laughing in seconds. XD
  14. Oh man, this is really nice. You're the first one I've seen so far to balance complexity and the HF aesthetic very well. The color layering isn't the best- most places are orange over lime while some have lime over orange. Not really a huge problem, and the build itself is good anyway. XD By the way, your photos are fine, not horrible.
  15. He was referring to the reviews and such that were premised at the start of HF Month.
  16. That was the idea. Thanks Howie. :) Thanks LTF. Thanks Zach. I agree, I probably could've integrated the slug a bit better... >.> Thanks Dorek. I was attempting to avoid the Bionicle appearance by using more 2.0 style armor, but as the build continued it evolved to be more... Bionicle-esque. I did, however, use parts that have been seen in Hero Factory already anyway (I'm pretty sure that the only exceptions are the Metru chestplate and feet, and the Nuva shoulder, which IMO is smooth enough to be stylistically similar to HF armor). Again, I know I really should have integrated the Brain Slug more, but I wanted the Slug to be able to be removed as its own entity without wrecking Marler's back. Kind of a foolish design choice, I guess. Thanks Djok. :)
  17. Here's my entry. (Click on the photo.)
  18. Early on in the invasion of the so-called Brain Slugs near Makuhero City and on surrounding planets, many HF scientists decided to experiment with the Slugs and their effects on their hosts. In a process similar to the creation of a vaccine using weakened bacteria, a wounded Brain Slug was forcibly connected to the back of a Rookie Hero by the name of Cade Marler. The ethics of the experiment were just as questionable as the results. As the Brain Slug affixed itself to Marler's spine, the young hero's left side- the right side being his dominant side, a feature integrated into recent Hero personality matrices- gradually became sickly green, twisted, mutated... in a similar fashion, rage, destruction, and distrust filled his mind, and he was unable to control it. The physical mutation of the Brain Slug continued to take root, and so did the mental aspect. Over time, however, Cade was able to regain his control over the mental and physical infections. It became a valuable asset. With enough concentration, Marler was able to keep the Slug's effect in check most of the time, and bring forth its anger when he needed it most, specifically in battle. The mutated left arm's spiny protrusions became quite useful weapons against all manners of enemies. Marler still has to be careful, though, because if he overexerts himself the parasitic Brain Slug will take control. ^ CLICK THE IMAGE ABOVE TO VIEW THE FLICKR GALLERY ^ This is my entry for the Hero Or Monster contest. A somewhat simpler build than my usual work, but I still quite like it. The name is random, the backstory isn't. Feedback on the MOC is appreciated.
  19. I don't think Bionicle didn't have the guts to make a corrupted hero, just that it didn't pop up in the major story at any point. Maybe a parallel shadow Takanuva in the later years? I don't know.
  20. Sure, bus fare, or being too completely destroyed to have a body to revive... And I have no idea what you're talking about with villains being hit by vehicles. But it sounds fabulous.
  21. Wouldn't matter anyway since Teridax isn't on the Red Star... :P

    CHAOS

That's awesome. Great improvements over the previous Tyrant build. From some shots the gaps (especially in the torso and the sort-of-empty waist/crotch area) look pretty bad, but it might be sort of difficult to cover those in a way that looks good, so whatever. Halcyon sounds neat, by the way.
  23. That's exactly the point of Technic builds, though... XDAnd to be clear, we're referring to structural complexity, not... how would I phrase this... conceptual complexity? (I don't know.)

    Astrav

I've gotten a bunch of people complaining about the ankles... I added those thin Technic parts to the sides to break up the profile of the legs, because IMO it'd look bad if the entire leg was 3-wide with nothing wider or thinner.
