I had to look up what car boot was, we call them car trunks. In the USA they are called outdoor flea markets, or just large tag sales, yard sales, garbage sales, they all seem to be the same thing.

Best LEGO Train Ever Made
The Green Brick Giant replied to paintballman413's topic in LEGO Train Tech
I always wanted 4559 as a kid, just seems like a cool little set that I would have had fun with. -
I have a bunch of the newer football sets. I really like the limited edition ones that were only released in Europe 8+ years ago, that has baseplates as a field and not the stupid green things. I would love to see a return to that, but I think LEGO Sports is dead considering they all seem like a failure.

My mom went to tag sales and found a box of LEGOs for $5. Included are 27 complete minifigures, mostly soccer ones, but there was an old Ice Planet and NASA torso that I don't have. There were a few older (early 90s) computer tiles, a black castle wall with white printing, lots of hair and suck, a pull back motor, a big strange red window I have never seen before, a slightly broken green baseplate, a divers dome, a red 14x4 base for a car that has 6 places for wheels, also never seen it before. There is also a grey brick separater, right there is $2. Last year at a church sale my mom found a working 12V train, but the wheels were missing and I don't know where to replace them (yeah yeah Bricklink ) and a few random pieces for $5. I'll try to post pictures later. I just finished getting rid of the filth that was mixed in the box, aka the Megabloks.

I like, very nice. One thing, the grey corner on the roof, the front is too flat, it stands out.

World Racers Summer 2010

I said the same thing as soon as we had any pictures of the sets. I'm guessing it's so next year they can have two new teams. -
REVIEW: 1371 Spinosaurus Attack Studio
The Green Brick Giant replied to WesternOutlaw's topic in LEGO Licensed
I think I saw it for $15 in some ad and never got it. It's a real fun set, the dinosaur is neat and it's a nice tiny plane. However $35 for it 10 years ago was insane. However by today's standards the set would cost $59. -
Afford has two "f"s. Anyways, of course it is, it's why all the LEGO Stores are around Boston or in rich areas.
-
If the Castle set and the City one are the same cost who would want the City one? Three less minifigures, nothing exclusive, besides a naked Santa showering which is creepy.

Harry Potter 2010 discussion thread
The Green Brick Giant replied to gusmoore17's topic in LEGO Licensed
I agree, it looks like bad versions of past sets. They might have rereleased old sets with the new minifigures. It's liek LEGO only cared about making Harry Potter minifigures and not at all about the sets. The Castle is a joke, it doesn't look like a castle on a hill like the older sets did at all, just really weird looknig. The house is neat and new, so that's something. -
I really want the Wizard and he better say "You really are more powerful than you can ever imagine" because I want to give that to a friend. Would be crazy if LEGO went "Let's do a different tile for NA, however this is LEGO, and they are nuts.
-
Frankly, considering the set will cost $100+ I was expecting better. It's a few lame bus / train stops, a car, a bus, the only thing new is an ugly train. I'll be saving some money!
-
For $100 it should have another minifigure or 2. When LEGO made the "Discovery" theme several years ago the Space Shuttle was Discovery. They also had the moon lander and the minifigures said NASA on it, awesome set.
-
Well AAA is a pretty stupid choice by LEGO. Everyone has rechargeable AA batteries they use for remotes, cameras, anything around the house. I have 30+ AA rechargeable batteries that I lose and find all the time. I don't have any AAA ones.
-
OK that means they should have prices, anyone know them?
-
On that only holds two "people" and doesn't have a tower is fictional.
-
It's probably a regular battery pack, one you have to add batteries too in order for the sets to be cheaper. This new battery back could take $30 off the price of the set if it's not rechargeable.
-
I doubt it being that man space travel is as good as dead for the next several years. And that a rocket makes a rather ugly, boring set.
-
It looks like the Creator shuttle from a few years ago with minifigures.
-
Interesting. The last shuttle launch is supposed to be in July? I think??? It will probably cost some insane amount and the 1999 Space Port one is OK by me. Wish it had the boosters but it only cost a fraction that this one will. Can't wait to see some pictures!

I like the fact the SVU can "shot" the pizzas, very neat. However the set is just too small for $40, way too small. I love the pig and Rex, awesome, but that's it and they aren't worth $40. So the short... Nicely designed set. Horrible price.

Buy a set simply to sell it for profit?
The Green Brick Giant replied to Danpb's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I have never resold a set but I'm fine with it, you need to get the money to pay for new sets and it's legal and not morally wrong in any way. -
Discrimination? Someone needs to look up what that word means. Plus certain sets are cheaper because the pieces are cheaper to make, they have less guys, ect. You can't compare the price of things. Also One PoP set seemingly being cheap to you doesn't prove anything. Because it's not cheap, the new Kingdoms Castle has 900+ pieces and is $100, so the PoP is about the right price. Then just look at Star Wars, it will become so expensive soon that children won't be able to buy the sets and the line will have to end. $25 for a landspeeder?!

Someone wake me up when we get official set pictures instead of useless speculation that has been proven wrong 10 times in this topic.
