Power Miners 2010
The Green Brick Giant replied to Brickthing's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Really? You know what will be released in 2011? The only reason why LEGO even released any this year is because last year the theme sold surprisingly well. -
LEGO made 400 million US dollars last year in net profit, they aren't going anywhere. However I agree, the pricing is so insane the only sets I buy now are on sale. I couldn't tell you the last set I paid full price for.

I like it! I also like how you got the day right. See you on December 22, 2012! Didn't that already happen with the color changes?

10211 Grand Emporium price gone mad
The Green Brick Giant replied to Delmar's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I think we should have a sub forum just to complain about how bad LEGO's prices are. -
2009 yet another fantastic year for LEGO
The Green Brick Giant replied to Front's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I don't have time to read all of it, but does it say what the number one selling set was in 2009? -
I like it. The ships could be better but they are prototypes, love the crazy alien sea life. I think this is really cool. We had Ice Planet so why no Water World? Love the animals and the lizard guy would be cool for Space Police now-a-days. Was the plan for this to be released around the time the show V was on? Still very odd it was never released considering how long it took to develop a LEGO line back then.

Awesome, thank you. Is that really the new gold? To me it's copper. Still a beautiful set.

Are there any pictures of the back of the castle? I'm interested in knowing what it looks like "inside" and haven't seen any pictures of that.

MOC: Bachelor Pad - My 1st modular building
The Green Brick Giant replied to LegoLyons's topic in LEGO Town
Very nice, my only "complaint" would be the weird part of the roof in the middle, it sticks out oddly. However that is the coolest design of a lamp I have seen, very cool. -
Your first Castle theme set?
The Green Brick Giant replied to Dwarf King's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I don't really remember but it was a drawbridge with a Wolf Man. -
NEW EXCLUSIVE: Max Minifigure
The Green Brick Giant replied to legolooney's topic in Special LEGO Themes
The hair is also in the Harry Potter sets. I really like the torso, very neat. -
LEGO wouldn't just cut out a theme and not replace it with other sets. Trains isn't it's own theme, it's the City theme for this summer, without it we have next to nothing. I'm sure this whole thing will be fixed within a month, we will get some word to what is going on.
-
Rumors made up by people here? The Train sets are coming out somewhere in the world this year. What is LEGO going to do release 3 sets for City in the Summer? City is one of their best selling themes in the USA.
-
So what's new there? Does Australia even have TRUs? The point was when we did the voting last spring LEGO said that the set would be shown at the NYC Toy Fair in 2010, that ended yesterday. We didn't even get the new train pictures and I was hoping we would because the ones we have aren't that great.
-
It's too late, people voted so negative feedback over a truck stop wouldn't stop them from releasing it, they are already probably producing the pieces for the set. It's all very very weird when they said they would reveal it during the voting... very odd. Same with the Trains, maybe the Trains are exclusives and saw no need to show them? Maybe LEGO and TRU are fighting (I hope so) and therefor the special TRU set is on hold.

MOC: Brown school or municipal building
The Green Brick Giant replied to Johan J's topic in LEGO Town
Me too, I haven't seen anyone do that for steps before, very neat. -
I think most sites don't go every day so LEGO will probably release some pictures later on tonight... If not I'm looking up the press release from last year.
-
Maybe LEGO is finally listening to us and giving us new City minifigures, wouldn't that be the day!

The base is amazing. A great mix of modern and classic and is exactly what LEGO should be aiming for in new sets. Plus it's the first base in years to use a baseplate, and it's in dark bley. The "car" seen here.... http://toyfair2010.figures.com/showphoto.php/photo/933 ...has the best use of it's cockpit piece I have ever seen. This is my 666 comment! YAY!!!

LEGO Collectible Minifigures Series 2 Poll
The Green Brick Giant replied to Piranha's topic in Special LEGO Themes
The skier is awesome with the poles, new skis and most importantly the winter hat. The warrior guy is awesome too, and so is the disco guy. -
$35 dollars?! Screw LEGO. 5 years ago we got about the same amount of pieces for $15, then $20, then $25, then $30, then $30 again, now $35! In 2 years we will get 190 pieces for $55. However it looks better than the last few years have been.

I thought it was June and August, but hopefully they moved them apart (to make more of each one). LEGO should release a series 3 during the holidays for stocking stuffers. -

Then why were they shown at another toy fair? The ones at that one looks like the real thing. -
And I hope I get a unicorn for Easter! I can't even imagine the set being able to have 400+ pieces, but I so so sooooo hope I'm wrong. : I'm thinking the base/sub set has 4-- pieces and they printed it on the wrong box, LEGO has done that before.

It's a three day fair, they don't show everything right away.
