  1. Honestly, I'm not that excited about the 2013 sets. I'll be stoked to see the villains, especially if VN is returning, but I don't I'll like the Heroes more than their current incarnations. Maybe if Stringer and Nex and Evo (and I suppose Stormer) get full Hero sizes, I could be tempted, but I love how complete Breakout feels with everything. They really represented their characters in the best way with the sets, and I don't see them topping that without feeling repetitive.
  2. Unlikely, since their escape was pretty direct, but the bike is also custom, from what it sounds like. Realistically he just stashed it somewhere (maybe that was the specific intent for Kollix IV, since I don't recall him being given a reason to go there, unlike other villains).
  3. Honestly, if that's really what happens, I'd say Hero Factory has made a nice full circle. One more year with VN, and then that seems like a nice place to end it. Plus, most complaints of "Von Nebula had no character development" will be smashed into tiny, tiny pieces :)
  4. It might be country restricted (although I think I'm being redirected to Amazon UK, as I am in England, so I don't see why it's a problem), but above the book there should be a "Look Inside" logo.
  5. I don't see it as being inconsistent so much as it's just a plot thread that they deemed inconsequential. He tried actively working to up his intelligence, he failed, we got some laughs out of it. It said before that he had less memory capacity anyway; maybe he decided that being smart wasn't worth the effort and redirected his focus. Or maybe not and we'll get some good character development in the actual episode. It was just one blurb, after all. Also the Doom Box preview is nice, even though it's totally a BIONICLE novel complete with BIONICLE names set in the HF universe. I guess we know what happened to that name list that never got used... Edit: also also fffffffffffffff why is the book inconsistent with the videos... Edit2: Okay, I'm sold, I'll buy these books. Call it silly, but the writing is still solid and I'm assuming we're going to consider them canon, so it's all stuff I want to know.
  6. They got the first (first two, if you use LEGO's apparent episode numbering system) Breakout special before the rest of us. Most likely the show will debut on nicktoons sometime before anybody realizes it actually exists.
  7. I just love that the bios are consistent; references to Bulk's intelligence, Nex's love for technology, etc etc. They could have just left the old descriptions up, but they went with new stuff, and it is appreciated.
  8. Yeah, a lot of typos, but at least they updated the old ones. Good to see some tonal consistency. I look forward to these sets.
  9. It was confirmed to have not been canceled, if I recall correctly, so there =P
  10. You also hated Mazeka. Therefore, your opinion is invalid >=( But seriously, it is kind of interesting how he went from most despised at reveal to most beloved at launch, and theoretically back to despised at full release. I'm still in the camp of "quirky and enjoyable, if not solid and fantastic", so I'd like to get him regardless. Edit: Also Mesonak you should post a guide to all the levels that way I can steal it and use it on HS01 :>
  11. Why? Breez should totally turn into an evil robot, get a power upgrade, then encounter someone Heroes she has met before in an attempt to bring her down. Wait...
  12. Witch Doctor was actually 39 at TRU, and 35 at Target. I got mine for 25 at the LEGO store, with the five dollar VIP discount I had. 30 for Stormer isn't terrible, but if you don't have a LEGO store, it might be the best price you can find. And yes, the cover is amazing. Damaso has actually done one other piece of HF art, besides the Transformers style sketches he did... the exclsuive Merrick Fortis piece that we paid him to do, from a few months ago =P
  13. If they actually have the stuff lying around, they're totally willing to share it with the fans. I'm just surprised that it actually existed at all; normally he doesn't do the covers, and I don't see why LEGO wouldn't have released it anyway =P. Regardless, it's a pretty nifty piece of work (that just got updated with the slightly less saturated original, apparently, and even more awesome). Did they have any text to go along with it, or was that the only version? And was there a cover for the latest issue as well? It'd be interesting to see what Damaso would come up with then. I wish he'd post this stuff on his DA.
  14. That's what I'm thinking too, but I wasn't able to actually find it in any related area of that comic. There might be some obscure promotional site that I didn't look at, but it's definitely not on LEGO.com, that I saw. Remains a mystery for now, I suppose.
  15. Oh, I know it's by Elmer Damaso (the current artist for the Hero Factory comics), but I just don't know where it was released. He generally doesn't do the cover work (which is done by former BIONICLE comic artist Carlos D'Anda) or the coloring (which is done by a company called Digital Media Chefs), but in this case, he did both. I want to know what the occasion was =P.
  16. So, not to derail the conversation (who am I kidding? I love doing that) but this image was recently uploaded that I don't quite know the source of. Damaso being a BOSS Anybody else know where it came from? It's not on his DA or his website, or anywhere from LEGO. The thought was from Comic-Con, or maybe an individual commission, but just figured I'd see if anybody else had any knowledge of it. If not, just admire it because it's pretty freaking awesome.
  17. Lol, they appear to only have one TV news channel, so I don't particularly see why they would have more than one newspaper =P. Also, the Evo Club Code actually works now (no direct link weirdly enough, it just downloads straight to your computer), and it's a continuation of the previous comic. I really like the online distribution method they have going on; too bad it's slightly pixelated.
  18. I hate Breez's general character, but the voice is fine. Surge's is fine too, honestly, I never see what the hate is about. Regardless, while I don't actually see them mediating the two different personalities of Evo, it wouldn't be impossible. Also, apparently there was another promotional newspaper type thing in the British LEGO mag this month. However, unlike the previous one, this is called the "Makuhero Times", as opposed to the "Makuhero Star". I don't know why I'm so miffed; LEGO is never known for their consistency.
  19. Story of the internet, brosef. I thought it was weird too, since these magazine issues start to generally appear around the beginning of the month, but this is the first time I've seen any mention of it (also I was gone this past week, and trawling through a week of Eurobrick posts isn't my most favorite activity =P). Regardless, it's a good comic, and I look forward to the next one (which I assume will be Evo-centric?).
  20. I actually like the red cladding, it adds a good layering effect. Purple would look waaaay too out of place. But yeah, I'm looking forward to all of these sets. In non-related set news (aside from the movie, I feel like that's all I bring over here =P) there was apparently a new promotional comic in the July issue (whiiiiich I probably won't get because LEGO has decided to stop sending me the magazine several times now), illustrated by Damaso. Page 1 Page 2 Basically just continues the non-canon comic featured a few months back. It's quick, but the art is again really cool. Damaso always manages to put a cool spin on these things, and he did a great job of distinguishing Voltix from Black Phantom. The art is a lot sharper than the previous comic too, I think. I hope that it gets put up online with the e-magazine, or that I get a copy in the mail, at least =P. Plus, it promises a full-length comic, which is always nice. The code doesn't work yet, though.
  21. When you say "the truth is blatantly obvious", that's what creates the debate. It's not as black and white as you think it is. You're free to think what you want, but there is, in fact, room for doubt. Also lol at the Ordeal joke. I'll miss CSI: Miami... Anyhow, you mean on the actual Stringer set? Not in LDD, anyway. I feel like it would look a little weird if you do a direct replacement, there should probably be some better layering involved somewhere.
  22. They were properly ashamed of Lucas Valor and are taking a monk-like vow of abstinence from making combiners. Although really since they have to develop a whole line of guys every six months, I can understand maybe easing off a bit, but it is nice to see again. Says who? Background chatter is always a part of any movie. "It was my first day" is probably on their "list of slightly amusing, mostly corny things that people can say" and they added it in for no particular reason. It could ALSO be a reference to OoF, but it could have just been something they needed to fill the air.
  23. I wouldn't really consider that a reference, just a (possibly unintentionally) recycled joke. But hey, maybe it was, who knows. In other news, there's a new canon hero and villain, as per the latest LEGO magazine. You want to know their names? Too bad, they don't have any. "Unique" hero "Unique" villain The villain is actually kinda neat, as construction goes, and puts a good spin on the Jawblade build. The Hero is meh.
  24. Cool, Furno's face. Haven't seen that before =P. Looking forward to seeing what it's about.
  25. Lol, you guys didn't notice that he only had two scout drones on the one arm? XP. Who knows why. They do love their asymmetry, so let's just go with that =P. Just buy another one off of PAB if it seems annoying; I know I probably will. (Hopefully it's actually included on PAB)
