Sure he did. It's Krakalin. <: Also, Teridax was referred to almost exclusively as Makuta in the 2010 materials, which both made sense and was a nice tribute to the early days.

Basically just that if you have two different lines of a similar theme running concurrently, neither theme will reach 100% of their sales potential, regardless of the actual purchases. The only way it works is if people buy all of both themes, which is less likely to happen than all of one theme. Also, as for the colored picture, it says (rather, is Google translated to read) that the piece was just a fan mock-up. Which just goes to show that people who actually know how to photoshop (or whatever image program have you) can create something really good looking with not much time or effort :U.

I do that every day Shakar, and I still feel that way. For instance (and I had apparently missed this a month back) did you know that there was a Spherus Magna tribe of Earth? And that it had an Element Lord? For no reason whatsoever other than because? This is why I've always said if BIONICLE ever comes back, I would want a reboot. I wouldn't mind Greg writing it, necessarily, but I wouldn't be opposed to a creative overhaul just to keep everything fresh.

The magazines can be different for the regions, but usually more in terms of order. I am a bit surprised that they would include it there, though, since they have omitted Hero Factory stuff in the past for the US one despite them being in the market.

What I've always said I'd like to see is an "alternate universe" of sorts, but separate from the previous continuity. Just reboot the series and give us the familiar beats and characters, but maybe play with the story and pair characters who have never been seen together. So have a character called Tahu and a character called Strakk as the protagonists, maybe mask-hunting or whatever, but just in a fresh continuity completely divested from the previous one so that there's something for older fans to appreciate, but no baggage. Obviously some transmedia would be appreciated; comics, etc.

It's a judgement call either way; I haven't seen much in the way of "let's wait and see", people seem to be either for it or against it; much more of the former, although in terms of the latter, I'm a lot closer to fence-sitting than I could be =P. I'm just not convinced by a lot of so-called "evidence" (although I do find certain things more intriguing than others, like LEGO removing the thread). But yeah, as for the potential future story, anything could happen. Nobody would have predicted Tahu getting turned back into a Toa Mata in the first place, but here we are.

Hey, I'm still in denial over here, but it's not like that really has any effect on the outcome; they'll come out (or they won't) regardless of how hard anybody believes =P. I just want people not to see every little thing as "evidence", when a lot of it is coincidence or just plain old speculation.

I think the Hero Factory movie is probably defunct at this point; we never heard anything past the spec script stage. Not that that doesn't preclude a future constraction-theme movie, but it wouldn't be a "transformation" so much as just a new movie attempt.

I'm still going to say a lot of the stuff on that list can be lumped together into fewer bullet points (or, conversely, expanded), but I guess objectivity isn't as much fun =P. And yeah, echoing what VBBN (and a few others earlier) said, regardless of whether or not these are fake, it shows a certain passion of the community, which is always great to see, even if it gets way out of hand. It even got an old curmudgeon like me interested.

That^ I don't recall what the official reason for BIONICLE's cancellation was, if indeed there was one. It seemed a "has run its course" kind of scenario, that and the lack of money being made on it (with the recalculation involving the cost of the molds, from what I remember?). It's not that those kinds of things don't sell, as you say, but they went hand-in-hand in this case; BIONICLE was dense, both in mythology and in storytelling, which made it inaccessible. I didn't quite mean "mature" in the sense of "macabre", just that it had a lot of nuances not necessarily grasped by the average toybuyer (a byproduct of its history, as it were).

It's not that I don't think that's a bad approach, I just hate the backpedaling on the subject. BIONICLE is too complex and mature (emphasis on the former, but still), so it's axed in favor a more kid-friendly line, suddenly the younger generation is more mature than they've been given credit for and it's trying to draw them up instead of down. That said, since there's money on the bet of two different constraction lines, HF and whatever would be fun to see concurrently.

The piece above what I think people are considering the "mouth" is what I see as Takanuva's mask. Again, totally subjective, since a lot of this is people seeing what they want to see.

Honestly, if people can see Piraka, Takanuva isn't nearly out of the question (and I'm not saying it's a literal usage of whatever promotional image, just that the design is incredibly similar, which it totally is). I think I can vaguely see where people get the Piraka thing, but I interpret the shape in a completely different matter. Either way, it's a bunch of fuzzy lines based on some plastic. (Also lulz helix) Edit: Also, people keep saying that it takes some monumental effort and I still disagree with this. Regardless of the veracity of the images, they themselves would not have taken long to fake. Some of the things surrounding the images would have taken some deft maneuvering, but a lot of that just has to do with timing. As for the list, a lot of that can be used both ways; any time we get leaks is "leak season", and Greg's answers are always iffy at best. LEGO's official action, on the other hand (not that we can confirm the flickr thing, but assuming it was) is much more interesting.

Haha, okay, maybe I was being generous with those. I recall a few pretty decent ones, but the majority... yeah... Which is a fair point; some prototypes have looked totally and completely ridiculous in their unfinished state (the Inika ones come to mind), not to mention nothing like their final counterparts. But in that case, which would it be: are these extreme prototypes and that's why they look ugly, or finished sets distorted by a lack of color/detail/etc? They can't be both. And I really just don't see a Piraka there, which is strange, since it seems to be a common interpretation, but I'll accept that my mind works in craaaazy ways.

The thing is at that level of detail it's hard to call them "competent", because we really can't tell. These could be bad MoC's just distorted enough to look good at a distance and at an angle. Or official sets, because I still totally see 2008 Takanuva (not the boxart, just the model). Even those Bring Back BIONICLE projects would look good with a touch of shading and some blur effects.

Second row from the top, middle box, to the left of the spider. You don't see any claws? I see claws =P

The mask is totally identical, has the same claws and build, etc. But really, at that level of detail... I suppose nothing can definitively be said.

Not that I'm a believer yet, but I wouldn't get any sort of hopes up on official announcements soon. With an average leak, it takes weeks for any kind of confirmation, just because this info was (obviously) not ready for public consumption at the time. Comic-Con is an interesting idea, but it's a bit too tangential for an announcement like that. If there would be anything, Brickfair would be my guess.

Now that is certainly interesting indeed... concrete proof that LEGO is actually acknowledging something about this. Does the topic still exist (was it just unpinned) or removed entirely? Also lolno, hashtags suck.

That's deep, man. This is rabbit hole territory. Am I an intentional heel? Is there some Danish guy at his computer laughing manically at everything we do? Damn. Anyhow, feel like Greg mentioned 2015 specifically because everybody had been asking about it, but I'm pretty jaded to his cagey answers anyway, so any subtlety present is probably lost on me. (Also I'm still absolutely convinced that the middle set on the second row is just 2008 Takanuva with his weapons swapped and darkened)

My biggest peeve is that I wouldn't consider the images "well made"; they look incredibly shopped from very easy images. Anything can be convincing considering how blurry it is. The more circumstantial stuff is believable; I'm none too familiar with Flickr image policy etc, so I defer to DV's explanation on that. But knowledge of leak releases etc. isn't that hard for anybody who has followed the fandom, and considering some of the things we have seen actually happen before, a prank of this scale is equally if not more believable than BIONICLE actually returning. I mean, it'll come out (or not) regardless of how hard we believe in these images. But I'm not convinced.

Oh yeah, that's what started it. Couldn't remember. Anyhow, that's basically my point; in this case, it wasn't directly LEGO. Misinformation is easy to spread amid confusion. I don't really see much in the way of anything happening, just a bunch of people who have no idea what's going on. I'd love to be proven wrong, but all of this points to an easy-to-pull-off prank.

True, true, but general confusion does have a way of getting around (and I wouldn't call tumblr the most trustworthy source :U); can't blame a guy for being skeptical. LEGO making the request certainly does liven things up, if indeed that's the case. That said, was the "new constraction theme in 2015" actually ever confirmed? I see people throwing it out now and I thought that was still technically a rumor.
