  1. And we could see HF maybe have a singular wave, so that the set numbers remain relatively constant like when they introduced Ultrabuilds (assuming, of course, we don't get any more of them...)
  2. I was more thinking along the lines of if they were running this concurrently with HF; I would have expected a slightly smaller wave.
  3. Technically Brotherhood was just following the manga, as opposed to the original series which ended before the manga did. THAT SAID. huh A lot of set numbers there (and I love how they just go higher and higher). If that's just one wave, that's already beating out HF. (also "defender" could translate to "guardian" or something along those lines which would make more sense but whatever)
  4. Ahaha I saw that earlier. So incredibly fake. It's Hakann's face colored gold, and poorly at that.
  5. Yes, actually! Thresher, as it stands, is the first known Hero Factory Hero. While it's conceivable that there were some sort of "prototype" Heroes in the past, Thresher was the first known active Hero. He was the initial head of the Alpha 1 Team, and his exploits are detailed in the second Secret Mission book "Legion of Darkness".
  6. I never thought the humanoid-subject-empathizing argument held up that well. Obviously it works with some wiggle room, but the Inika proportions are definitely within that degree of flexibility (if anything, it's their faces that would turn people away!). People (yes, even children) can distinguish between the fantasy and reality of a subject, especially when it's clear that it is supposed to be a non-humanoid, as BIONICLE so often made the point.
  7. Well, the implication is definitely that she's biological, since the Jumpers are "born" and "evolve", but maybe a queen can only make a queen, as opposed to evolving from another Jumper? As for the feeding thing, the episode itself basically says that it was more retaliation for the construction, but I guess that them being eaten can be incorporated into that. This why I get so disillusioned with HF sometimes; every other source has a different explanation for something, and synthesizing those into a cohesive story is practically impossible.
  8. Pridak was pretty top-heavy, and was deliberately required to pose hunched over anyway because of the way the fin blade was incorporated, so it's not surprising he ended up the way he did. Honestly, I'd be perfectly okay if we started with just 180 degree waist movement before trying for a whole sphere of articulation.
  9. I did see that but I wasn't quite sure what to do with the information; shop descriptions have been wrong in the past, and this is something very clearly not referenced in the show, but at the same time what exactly they were kidnapping the civilians for is never explained.
  10. The spreads in the magazine are quite nice. I haven't picked up any of this years sets yet, but I definitely will once the summer ones are released.
  11. Nah, it was pretty big in Europe too, and the Asian market as well. Not sure how well they stack up against one another, but those are the best performing ones.
  12. The perennial argument of anybody who reveals classified info that they aren't supposed to. The long and the short of it is that people still don't want to lose their jobs over something, so they want an image that people see but that can't be traced to them. All things considered, I find the whole "cloak and dagger" routine pretty ridiculous, which is why the "leaker" role is so incredibly suspicious to me. (Also these CHI minis, while doubtfully a prototype for anything, are adorable and I want them)
  13. I actually kind of liked that about Hero Factory; because the focus of the line was actually on the impulse buy sets, they took a step-up in caliber. Nothing against Aanchir's design (love the toes!), but that's not the kind of thing I would want from a set, since the playability is less than what we've come to expect.
  14. There's a difference between tone and humor. Most things with a more serious edge try and balance things out with comedy, and BIONICLE is no exception, especially in the earlier years when it was still finding its footing. However, many later fans (post-2006, for instance) are used to a much grimmer, bleaker tonality. And those later fans are closer to the target audience than people who have experienced the whole thing are. LEGO is in no way going to pander to those people, and that's exactly my point; those expecting a continuation or pretending that BIONICLE hasn't been gone for the past half-decade (if it's coming back, which I still don't think it is!) would be in for a rude awakening.
  15. They've sort of rolled out those downloads in stages for this website, but yeah, in the next few weeks they should all be out. Hopefully this means the sets aren't too far behind.
  16. As a guy who loved Beast Wars, heck yeah! I'm all for a completely new direction, regardless. Retreading the old a surefire recipe for disaster. But then there's still people who hate it regardless, and they will continue to be a vocal minority; part of this is not tempering any expectations and just letting imagination and hope run amok. I actually like Korra better, but it's not like BIONICLE can get darker... could it? =P
  17. Ninjago TV series is debatably better, but the tone is miles different, or at least from what BIONICLE was. BIONICLE would have to come back as a markedly changed; I'm sure some people, especially longtime fans, would see that as some kind of "betrayal", if I may borrow some hyperbole. Not that there's anything wrong with it either way, but this is why the talk of story continuation is way out of hand.
  18. The Mixels reveal was more because they had a whole TV show planned for it and it was pointedly a multimedia affair. While I suppose this could happen again (and I still think this is a hoax!)... does anybody really want a Cartoon Network based TV show from this?
  19. Oh, were the Mixels announced there? Interesting enough. LEGO definitely has a presence (and given the popularity of The LEGO Movie, they will most certainly be there in force) but their focus is, as usual, geared more towards the Comic-Con audience; Superheroes and Star Wars, as said.
  20. I have no idea why people are expecting anything related to this from Comic-Con. Even with a media blitz, that is neither the time nor the place for LEGO to announce anything.
  21. On the issue of bags; both BIONICLE and Hero Factory have experimented with a number of different packaging styles over the years. Regardless of what the next constraction line is, unless it's a one-off, I'm sure we'll see new (or old) styles of containers by the end.
  22. IF anything, a new game would resemble the swarm-based gameplay from IFB, BA and Breakout. It seems to be their shtick.
  23. So when Greg's account was hacked on BZP a while back, was his signature changed to read "BIONICLE Returns 2015", and was the account ever reinstated after being banned? Because as it stands, both of those things are true about the account now.
  24. As pointed out it's literally based on "crack-a-lackin". Not what I would call a good interim name =P
