Sea Rats: Sign-up and Discussion
Dannylonglegs replied to Darkdragon's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
This is Daniel 'Longbreeches', a (Formerly) Oleonder Aristocrat/Artisan turned Sea-Rat Pirate. He angered the wrong people within the Order of the Faith, and fled the country aboard the Sea Rat vessel "The Titan's Tithe," Captained by the current Pirate King, Reynard LeRoublard. "Journal entry 1, Well, Journal, there's so much that has changed in the past month, it's hard to even figure out where to start... but I must start somewhere. I need to relay these events before they vanish from my brain like smoke from a pipe on a windy day. Already, I have begun to lose certainty as to what has happened. It seems that just yesterday, I held sway in the King's court, owned a wealthy sum of land in the countryside, and a fine townhouse in Granoleon. My days were devoted to painting and pleasure... and piousness, of course. My sister and I lived the good life, for I was the King Stephan's favoured painter. Classically trained by the old masters, and well-loved by my peers, my life was a delight... that is, until the diabolical Brother Ysengrin rose to power. That foul alter-boy had always despised me... and the feeling was mutual, of course. However, through some sad injustice, this wretched man acquired more and more influence within the Order of the Faith... I suspect it must have been illicit, for no legitimate means would have given wing to this foul fool's flight. I, of course, was well-loved by the Order at large. I paid my dues, and had my servants bring food to their feasts. But, yet, this Brother Ysengrin wanted nothing more than my head on his plate, though I had yet to slight him. And then, through no fault of my own, Brother Ysengrin interpreted my grandest painting yet, "The Gods' Conquest of the Titans" as a personal attack--which I assure you, Journal, it was not! This, proved to be my undoing. So powerful had Brother Ysengrin become, that a slight to him was a slight to the Order, and he convinced a corrupt Cleric of Hades that I had fallen from favour with the Gods--although, assuredly, I had not! This eventuated my meteoric fall. I was beset upon by the Assassins of Hades, and stripped of all land-ownership and position. I had to flee my own apartment! I know not the fate of my sister, nor that of my allies in the court, although, I suspect they too may have fallen prey to Brother Ysengrin's treachery. The only escape I could find came in the form of "The Titan's Tithe" a piratical vessel captained by the infamous Reynard LeRoublard. He had me sign the ship's Documents--unwillingly, of course, and now I am crew aboard his ship. Zeus have mercy on my soul, for the foul deeds this fiend may have me commit. I swear that before too long, I shall return to Oleon and rescue my sister and allies from the clutches of Brother Ysengrin... but today, and for the time being, I must remain in exile... and pray to the Gods that my new master, Captain Reynard does not kill me in the morning. ~Daniel "Longbreeches" -
"Log date 001, this is Dr. Danielle Long. Air conditions breathable, background radiation read at 0.82 mSv/a. Temperature 15.5 degrees... I am conducting an Ecological Analysis of this site. Sensors read large deposits of sub-surface Awesomnium. I have dispatched several drone surveyors, and together we will amass sufficient data to provide Corporate with a detailed writeup regarding ecosystem concerns. I've noticed a large pond and assessed it's watershed specifications. It will need to be diverted, I suspect, but before we do so, I will dispatch a selection of Aquatic Specimen Acquisition drones to assist in cataloging the species before we remove their biome. I'll ensure that we collect sufficient biological material that should we discover one of the species therein had beneficial properties, we can clone the xeno back from extinction. The scenery is quite beautiful here, from an objective standpoint. Perhaps we should film an Advert for the folks back on earth here before we commence the mining process. First report on the new log after my previous dating system was jumbled by... clasified. Good to have a fresh new logbook. Dr. Long out." ~Insectoid Aristocrat

Gravity Falls always had that vague mysterious tone to it that would later become its primary theme, despite its goofiness in the first few episodes. You're right about SU, though. It was hard to get through the first few episodes for me, since I despise silliness. I really only fell in love with the program after the cat episode when it showed the first signs that the silliness was merely the veneer atop a dark mahogany throne. I highly doubt a toy-driven TV program could compare to either of those programs, however. It takes a lot to get me interested in a cartoon. Anyways this is more a discussion for the Nexo Knights' TV show topic. The mini for tree review was nice. I don't think I will get any of the knight polybags, though, as both the knight and Robin lack their signature armour pieces... and I also don't particularly care for the Knight sides' figures. The generic knights themselves could be useful, but not without their armour, imo. ~Insectoid Aristocrat

1. Sheep. I think this is obvious. And furthermore, I predict it will appear next year in the Nexo knight village raid set. If not, it'll certainly feature in a shepherd figure. If it's not next, then it's certainly in its way. 2. Harder to predict this. The seagull mold would do very well with a recolour, though. ~Insectoid Aristocrat

Because she's an iconic figure, and this is a line of iconic figures. Also, we're sorely missing French Aristocrat figures. ~Insectoid Aristocrat -

Meh, that's just nationalist revolutionary propaganda! But I'll second the above history lesson. This dress style has a very specific time prior to it, but I'm sure Lego will make the most of that period of time. I can't wait to see what Lego does with it... and yeah, Marie and her Rococo hair are absolutely on their way! I'd love to see more rococo inspired figures too. Not because I particularly like the maudlin, affected aesthetic, but since the costumes are so specific and amusing, I'd love to see Lego's take on them... and especially the hairpieces! More 18th-17th century figures are definitely needed imo... as are 19th century figures, of course. Also that Satyr is just so cyuute! ~Insectoid Aristocrat -
The Brethren Lords have been using the abbreviation "BoBS" because it rolls off the tongue nicely. LotR rolls off the tongue well too as pronounced "lotre" and PotC can kind of work as "Botkuh" but the same cannot be said of BotBS. If you prefer it though that's fine too. also, 4 letters is kind of perfect, imo. ~Insectoid Aristocrat

Brethren of the Brick Seas Poll
Dannylonglegs replied to SkaForHire's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Excellent question! You'll only technically need one fig: your sigfig! You can have any number of other characters within your faction, though. Your character needn't even wear a blue coat or red coat. Those are just the military outfits (and even those can be highly variable. Uniforms at this time in history were far from uniform throughout the military, after all.) You can be a blue coat painter ( ) a red coat blacksmith, or a green coat miner. You could likewise be one of Oleon's savvy clergymen or earnest missionaries, one of Corrington's erudite scholars or inventive scientists, or one of Eslandola's clever traders or shrewd merchants. None of these people would need to wear a speck of their respective colours. It's like a real world. Just because I live in a country where the flag is red white and blue does not mean I wear exclusively those colours, after all! (frankly, the only colour restrictions are regarding the Oleon clergymen, as you'll see soon enough.) And there's always the Sea Rats who fly and wear whatever colours they so desire, for they are the free folk and scoundrels who have liberated themselves from their restrictive nations. Also, there are no build style restrictions. There are plenty of things to build, from ships, to battlements, to tropical beaches. Build with your own style! ~Insectoid Aristocrat -

Tags: Science Sector: H04 OK this is a redo of the build I never showed last week (because it sucked) story will actually come this time. along with it will be better pictures and more of them. It'll actually be a pretty good story... but I don't want to take the pictures in these mediocre light conditions. All other builds will be from past weeks. This is the only one to be judged. ~Insectoid Aristocrat

He, I don't quite know if I would have gotten 5 without the little hints we got... but Satyr has been on my unspoken list for a while. So I might have gotten 3. The shark man and Native woman though might not have been. but anyways, thanks for hosting the list again! ~Insectoid Aristocrat -

I was wrong about the Queen's dress?! Feel free to impale me. Gorgeous wave! Can't restrain myself! Here's my thoughs on the best 4. More to come when I have a few hours to kill. Satyr: Oh boy, where do I start? Obviously the headpiece is just flawless. Super cute! He's got a hairy chest! Adorbs! The fur on the hips makes him less useful for "normal guy with hairy chest" uses, but that's ok. Kinda wish they had some hair going up his abs too. Lol. Damn! Those new legs! so so so pleased! That's a super useful mold! I guarantee we will see it in a myriad of different uses in the future! I can see this on other Satyrs (evil satyr, anyone?) In addition to such uses as: devilish figure, lizard-man, cow-person, big footed robot, alien, etc... crazy awesome! I'll definitely buy quite a few of these. I'll try to get at least 4... but I may do what I did with Alien Trooper and the Fly and get upwards of 10... flawless. I find it sunny that so many people are still hung on the Pan pipes. Seriously, I'm not even slightly disappointed. We will get those on the next Satyr, I'm sure. and this pipe is still very nicely detailed. Superior to the snake tamer's. He's adorable. Queen: Really really really nice! Can't believe the mould! It's very nice. I love the printing on her torso and dress! Great to see the reuse of the King's cape piece and the hair recolour is exquisite. Might acquire a few. Mace Knight: lovely colours and printing! The Templar vibe is strong with this one. Very nice figure for the Castle fans upset with Nexo Knights! Clever, Lego! Very self-aware of you! an army builder for sure. That Mace is exquisite! About time! I guess the Heraldry is the only thing I don't personally like that much. I would prefer something more Generic, I guess. Winged Warrior: love that Pearl Gold! I wish the arms were Pearl Gold too. So that's my only real complaint. The gold wings are super useful! I'll get several of this for the purpose of making baroque reliefs. The helmet is working wonderful and can't wait to see it reused for a Valkyrie or Greek God. Same. I knew it would be like this. And honestly, I prefer it. ~Insectoid Aristocrat -

I definitely have the Zotoxians kicking around. I'm perfectly fine with someone using them, so pm me if you want info on them. Thank you, Mediumsnowman, for providing the overview of them! I'm too busy right now to do anything like this, but I thought at some point it'd be cool to go back over old builds and see what alien species have been introduced and such. ~Insectoid Aristocrat -
