[MOC] Luke VS The Rancor (Micro-Mood Scale)
XimenaPaulina replied to M<0><0<DSWIM's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Another excellent CB entry Mood! The Rancor is quite accurately done, and the micro-Luke with the bone is very cute! Though like what Mr Man said, it would be nice to see the Rancor picking up a fight with someone his own size in Moodland-scale Luke. -
Very hilarious entry! The facial expressions of both the victim and Croc are perfect for this "peek-a-boo" scene. Great job, definitely one of the better entries so far in terms of execution of build and originality of idea.

General Discussion and Announcements

Like what I've said: Those type of info need not be spoon-fed to aspiring hosts. I think it's common knowledge that a good proposal covers all of the game essentials, which I assume an applicant host should be very aware of if he has already played a significant amount of games before. -

If I may chip in my 2 cents here, I think pitching to be a host is not a matter of being the "first one in line" but it depends on one's overall preparedness. I'm pretty sure Rufus and Pandora went beyond the "Game Summary" stated in the Games Index when they approached Draggy. I think they came well-prepared, armed with all the required elements (game summary, teaser image, number of characters - probably even the specific names and looks of the characters, MOC settings, roles, unique features, balance of the game, etc) to present to Draggy. It's like if you're a Salesman, you certainly won't go to your customer and just say "Hey, this is my product and this is what it's supposed to do, though I don't have any more details to tell you so would you pls. buy my stuff?". Yes, the Mafia Index could be improved with that suggestion, but what separates potential good hosts from the wannabees is the ability to recognize the essentials of the game and include them on the proposal which will definitely show one's keen interest and dedication to being a mafia or any other game host. -
Gotham City Mafia: Day Three

Maybe Ra's has become a Vampire Tree Stump! Oh wait, he has been a like that from the very start. (Sorry Vamp, just livening up the eerily-silent Iceberg Lounge ) -

Gotham City Mafia: Day Three
XimenaPaulina replied to ADHO15's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Why does the voting always has to start when I'm sleeping? Well it looks our ol' reliable "agent scum-hunter" Creeps is leading us to another yet convincing case against Deadshot. He's 1-for-1, so it makes perfect sense to follow his lead once more. I have my own reasons that make me suspicious of Deadshot, though relatively minor compared to what Creeps and Clayface presented: - When the tracker/watcher found the Ventriloquist 'targeting' Deadshot on Night 1, I approached Deadshot privately to ask if he interacted with Vent prior to the night or if anything happened 'weird' to him being the target of Vent's action. This is where the suspicious part comes: He read my message listened to me, and did not respond right away. He read the game thread but didn't post anything visited the lounge to listen and did not say anything. Then he posted in read his favorite books Heroica and Suburbia. Six (6) long hours later was when he decided to respond to me, simply to tell me that he did not interact with Vent at all and never said anything about any 'weird' effect on him. After that, he never talked to me again, even though it was clear that the Creeps and I are asking concerned criminals in the past couple of days to cooperate with us, and he never heeded the call. Does that make him automatically an agent? Probably not, but the way he was acting is either he's a scum agent and one of our useless unconcerned criminals. - When the Creeps presented his case against Deadshot earlier today (last night EB time), I saw him peeking in the Lounge (reading the thread), then leaving without saying anything even though he's already being accused. - And when he has decided to defend himself, as much as I would like to give him the benefit of the doubt, I ain't really convinced with his alibis. Copying Black Mask's cliche, his defense is as strong as a wet toilet paper and reminds me that of Bane. However, this does not mean that I am completely buying Clayface's story 100%, and I still have my doubts now, especially on what he did during the first night using his mimic action. I have found a minor but potentially significant loophole in a previous claim he made privately. I could be wrong, and I would really be happy to be proven wrong in this case, but my doubts will only be cleared if and only if Deadshot do turn out as a scum agent. But in the best interest of the criminals and to not sow confusion to the pretty much cemented lynch of Deadshot, I shall withhold what I know for the moment. But in the worst case scenario that Deadshot turns out to be a criminal, then I (or others if I don't survive) will reveal that info and I trust in everyone's judgment and intellect to know who to look into the following day. You talking to me my lovee-dovee? Yes, darling, we've talked and did something privately, so I have reason to trust you. Even Creeps himself mentioned earlier that no one can really be cleared 100% due to the possibility of recruitment/conversion. And that even includes me, even if I was cleared as a criminal before. I know he does not trust me 100%, the same way I don't fully trust him either. It's all natural part of this crazy ordeal I guess. So I suggest to not let our guards down. If there's anything we could get in this is that hopefully Deadshot's lynch will be a successful one (he turns out to be scum agent), and that would pretty much clear Creeps and even Clayface for that matter. So I'm putting all my faith to Creeps this time around, and I shall Vote: Deadshot (Rumble Strike) Don't worry Deadshot, if you don't turn out to be an agent tomorrow then we'll know who to look into. I have my "evidences prepared" just in case this lynch proves to be wrong. But as it is right now, you would have to go since the accusation points at you killing our known investigator. -
LEGO Superheroes 2012 Rumours & Discussion
XimenaPaulina replied to Hinckley's topic in LEGO Licensed
While I am not a fan with majority of the sets, it's actually a blessing in disguise that the sets that I'm really interested with are the smaller ones. Let's face it, the primary selling attractions of these sets are the minifigs, and having Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman in the relatively small sets is certainly good news to me! I also find the vehicles on this theme highly inferior with the previous Batman releases. Just look at the Batmobile set, the previous Batman-Two-face set was waaay better IMO. And the Batwing set is essentially an uninspired re-make of the previous one. Though I would understand if the main reasoning of remaking these sets is to give those who missed the Batman theme a chance to own these sets, but still they could have made the vehicles better, not worse. I'm still looking forward for the Green Lantern set and the Marvel set line-up, which has curiously been kept in secret until now... -

LEGO Star Wars 2012 Pictures and Rumors
XimenaPaulina replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in LEGO Star Wars
But still a vast improvement from the previous 6212 version: - better cockpit/nose linearity - longer wing laser cannons - more accurate fusial thrust engines (back part) - better greebling on the top (beside the astromech socket) - presence of sloping part at the base of each engine (deflector screen projector) - concerted effort in making a hexagonal-shaped rear part Though it still has its fair share of shortcomings, particularly the printed/stickered round tile on the engines which sticks out like a "sore thumb". Seriously, why can't they just have made it a combination of a 1x2 tile + 1x1 tile to form a T-shaped detail? I know it's an illegal connection set-up but still it's better than that hideous round tile piece. Anyway, that is something that could be easily modded so never mind my minor complaint... -

Gotham City Mafia: Day Three
XimenaPaulina replied to ADHO15's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Now that is much clearer, since from what I knew the Watcher/Tracker who tracked The Ventriloquist on Night 1 saw him 'target' Deadshot, not Croc. Vent claims that he protected me and got redirected to Deadshot instead. I asked Deadshot about this and he told me that nothing weird happened to him on Night 1. But if I were to believe Creep's statement that Vent admitted targeting Deadshot and not me on Night 1, then why LIE in the first place Mr. Ventriloquist? As far as I know, the Ventriloquist only claimed to be the protector/doctor and not the blocker. When the watcher/tracker saw him targeting Deadshot on Night 1, he claimed to have been redirected. And now, according to Creeps, he admitted in targeting Deadshot on Night 1. I don't really understand the need to lie if you're one of us criminals Mr. Ventriloquist. -
Gotham City Mafia: Day Three
XimenaPaulina replied to ADHO15's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Ah Creeps, at least I know I feel the same way about you, and I could certainly understand the reasoning behind it. Hmmm, I'm quite curious, what did The Ventriloquist exactly do when he targeted Croc on Night One? Did he block Croc or not? Because it doesn't add up to what I know privately. As far as I know, Croc, who I have been in contact with (and secretly in love with ), had a "successful night action" on Night 1. So it's either the The Ventriloquist keeps adding to his big pile of lies (most likely) OR The Ventriloquist is consistent with his claim that he protected me and the Creeps the last two nights (which I'm beginning to find to hard to believe with all the protector/doctor claims). -
MOC: Batman's Tumbler with batpod Transformation
XimenaPaulina replied to bricked one's topic in LEGO Licensed
Very impressive! As a Tumbler fan myself, I can really appreciate the design aspect of this one, and I'm quite amazed that you were able to get a highly-accurate looking Tumbler in minifig-scale with even a Batpod transformation! There are some great MF-scale Tumblers I've seen before, but never I have seen before something with the perfect balance of size, accuracy, and functionality. My hats off to you sir! -

@Oky: Because I secretly love Pink! :p Nah, I just find Majin Buu as a cute character for the MCW Cosplay contest. My female Jedi and Wizard/Witch characters are deliberate, but my mafia characters were not! It just so happened that I get female roles every time (except for one time).

At least "Hush" won't live up to his name and will actually talk a lot more now. Welcome JimB, hope you'll enjoy the game!

Losing interest in a theme you once loved
XimenaPaulina replied to RichardRobins's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I don't really see it as losing interest to a certain theme, but more like expanding my horizon range of interests. Obviously, I'm a SW fan first, but the new themes that have recently come out and will come out (POTC, DINO, DC/Marvel Superheroes) and even the regular themes like CITY have sets that are too enticing not to get. I even see myself picking up all the cool non-SW sets before the SW ones (which are mostly remakes). But those will not prevent me from picking up my normal dose of SW sets, just 'stretching out the dough' so to speak to accommodate the sets from other themes. I actually think this is a good sign that TLG is doing a great job in raising the quality and innovation across the various themes to attract hardcore specific-theme fans to acquire sets outside their favored themes. -

Review: 5884 Raptor Chase
XimenaPaulina replied to Darkdragon's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Wow, lovely crystal-clear pictures. And a very good review overall, great job darkdragon! This is an nice medium-sized set, and is third on my DINO buylist behind the T-Rex Hunter and Triceratops sets. The Raptor is reason enough for me to get this, even if I'm not much of a fan of the jeep's design, though it could be a very useful parts source.
