  1. I share the same sentiments, Series 3 seems to lack the "WOW" factor that Series 1 and 2 had. There's a couple of interesting figs in S3 (elf, samurai, & gorilla), but other than those, the rest look like a bunch of remakes of previous MFs or counterparts of S1/S2 figs. I'd be more than happy to take back my words when the official pics arrive.
  2. Welcome to Eurobricks Brickviller. It's great to hear you're now an official part of this online community. Hope to see more of you here.
  3. It looks like from the general consensus that TLG seemed to have alienated the OT/PT fans with the majorly CW-based sets of the 2011 first wave. It's a good thing I don't restrict myself to the SW movies but I really feel the sentiments of the OT fans. I hope TLG makes it up to them in the second half of 2011 with quality OT/PT sets.
  4. Thanks Smack. JAG's design was really based on the CW version, though some of the mods can also be applied to other versions of the RGS as well. I'm glad you liked the jedi shot, though I myself am not satisfied because I can't quite get the right photo quality that I really want (it looks very bright). Yeah I have to agree, at first it just looks like a regular RGS, until you look closely and find out the minor (but significant) differences with the official RGS. Thanks lightningtiger. I guess the middle armoury compartment turned out pretty well. I actually initially intended it to be just a normal hallway connecting the troop bay and the front interior, but I'll just do that mod in my next RGS version. Presentation (photo shoot, post-prod editing, documentation) is half the battle, I suppose. I'm glad you appreciate it.
  5. The Jedi Attack Gunship is an LAAT/i assigned to the 501st Command of the Grand Army of the Republic which holds the special distinction of being the unofficial gunship of jedi generals in various missions during the Clone Wars. Nicknamed “JAG” by the clone troops assigned to it, this RGS has survived various missions involving jedis, miraculously escaping highly-dangerous battles without suffering any significant damage. The “Scratchless One” has made believers out of its clone troops, who have since then believed that JAG’s involvement with jedi missions make it “Strong with the Force”. This particular project is simply a MOD of the 7676 Republic Attack Gunship. Even though this RGS is regarded by many to be generally accurate to the real gunship, there are still a lot of inaccuracies that’s quite noticeable that needed to be addressed. After carefully studying every corner and angle of the LAAT/i design from various photos, movie, and series references, I came up with several minor but significant modifications to achieve the best accuracy as possible with the real RGS. (1) Increased the height of the whole gunship by 1 stud. The official RGS looks vertically shorter in front compared to the real RGS. (2) Cut-stickers from official DSS applied in front and the top cockpit for added detail (3) Custom noseart showing the Jedi Order emblem with two crossed green and blue lightsabers below and an Aurebesh phrase which translates to “Strong with the Force” (4) Removed Bacta tank in the middle compartment and replaced with an angled cover like in the real RGS (5) The cover opens into a weapons compartment (6) (7) Removed all unnecessary random colors in the body and replaced with all white parts for a cleaner look. (8) Removed the flick-fire missiles on the top and replaced with a rocket compartment. (9) Revised door hinges for tighter closing of the sliding doors (10) Removed the speeder bike holder and support arch for a more spacious interior, which can now accommodate a 20+ crew (11) Modified interior sloping rear like in the real RGS (12) Larger wing support (13) Modified exterior rear part (14) Added missiles underneath the wings (15) Added lower half of glass wing cockpit (16) Added two clone pilots that are missing in the official RGS (17) Added clone gunners in the each of the two wing cockpits (also unoccupied in the official RGS) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The J.A.G. in Action Ready troops.... 6. Very unique creation -R8-, though a sad one. I agree the overall shape of the eye/eyelid is pretty accurate, and I love how you stuck with geometric plates and bricks - giving it the basic lego look. And it really depicts the emotion of sadness with the flowing tears. Nice job!
  7. Not bad for a non-Sci-fi fan, actually I think it really looks good. I love the sleekness and smoothness of the design. Great job fred!
  8. Hmmm.. Nice use of the fireman's neckwear, overall it's a pretty good custom, very much like the real WWII American soldier.
  9. I was referring to previous mummy MF in an old set (see below), not the Pharoah in Series 2. And these guys below are where most of the Series 3 figs will be based on.
  10. Wow, very nicely done Madam! Your modified cinema is way way much better than the one in Town Plan - bigger, better details and interiors, nice color scheme. I simply love the popcorn stand - very realistic indeed.
  11. I think it's the same baby blue-colored Gian speeder used in the epic contest, right AC? I love the greeneries and lush vegetation depicted in the MOC. The forest backdrop also adds an additional 'foresty' atmosphere. Great job as always Sir!
  12. Nice work, what I love about this cargo plane is that they are actually made up of multiple parts, bricks, and pieces and not those huge <insert that tiresome argument> body and wing parts of the official TLG planes. Of course, the functions added (retractable landing gears, sliding doors, rear cargo ramp) are absolutely great. If it were a bit larger and a couple of decals it would have been perfect, but it is still great as it is. Very well done Yanzl!
  13. Thanks for your 'great' news KD. More police sets, no civilian/farm/zoo sets are actually good news to me - as I can save up valuable resources ($$$) for better sets in other teams. I'll pass up this CITY Space police subtheme first wave.
  14. The Battle of Naboo set is quite disappointing. Gungans and BDs only, they should have thrown in a new exclusive fig like Barriss in the Swamp Speeder Set. Anyway, thanks KD for confirming the Bounty Hunter Gunship. If it is Halo then we'll get a couple of new bounty hunters, most probably Sugi and/or Embo. Plus, we might have another in Aurra in the T-6 shuttle. TLG does like their bounty hunters alright.
  15. Thanks for the 'news' KD! My initial impression (without the benefit of pics) on the Series 3 figs is that most of them seem to be remakes or based on previously-released MFs, such as: -Ferrari driver (red torso) with helmet - remake/based on Ferrari set drivers -mummy with pan - remake of the previous mummy -? sumo wrestler/karate guy (yellow torso and pants) with trophy - based on Series 2 karate guy (with the same trophy?) -Hawaii girl (green skirt print) with two green rattles - same rattle mode as the Series 2 Mexican -Native American chief with lance - remake of the previous Indian Chief -? doctor/surgeon with suitcase and ? - another doctor? Partner of Series 1 Nurse (and other medical staff before them) Sheez... -snowboarder with snowboard - related to the Series 2 snow guy But I'm quite interested with these new, never-before-seen MFs: -alien with space gun -fisher with hinge and fish - quite OK -? female dancer -samurai knight with removeable armor and samurai sword -baseball player with baseball bat -elf with bow and big buckler -? male singer with ? micro and ? recorder -gorilla with banana -???
  16. Wow thanks for the very kind words Superkalle. I do always make it a point to put extra effort in making the elements of my topics/MOCs presentable to you guys. I'm glad you liked it.
  17. Thanks, but all of the other versions are in 'slick' black as well.
  18. I think your theory is most probably correct. T-6 Shuttle + Ahsoka + Plo + Aurra + young Boba (exclusive figs) = US$80 seems to be plausible. An additional speeder bike (the pirate version) would also be great if it were included. If this will be true, this is gonna be the second straight set based on the season finale of TCW, Cad Bane's Speeder being the first from Season 1.
  19. Haha, simply hilarious! Nice one Flare. 'Realistically', I think they have no choice but to use their mouths to pick-up the arms () and help each other out.
  20. Simple yet manages to send the message of "Enjoy & Explore" clearly. I also like your photoshopping skills, the cropping of your vigs to their respective backgrounds are quite 'clean' and professional-looking. Nice job.
  21. Great tutorial Blackice. Truly a must-read for all members indeed (new and old). I agree we need better quality posts from some of the new members. I must admit I was guilty of the same faults of a newbie poster during my "early days" here in EB. But as time went along, I had gradually matured by doing most of your points (noticing details, quality over quantity, proofreading). I hope with the new members reading this tutorial we would have better posts than one-liners like "Cool ", "Great Work", "Awesome", "Nice".
  22. Wow, those are cool cube dudes, up-to-par with MacLane's creations. I love the details of Popeye (facial expression) and Superman (the hair). Great job Hound Knight!
  23. I love the fuel guy, especially his big bulging tummy. Though I agree with Lasse D it would have been better if the build of the fig had some curves. Still, nice work Marckeyh.
  24. Nice alternate model for the 5982 vehicle. Though I'm not so sure about the spikes in front, looks kinda distracting to me.
  25. Great first review dr.spock! I must say this is pretty good set, but I have only one nitpick - the windscreen. The trans-black cheese slopes doesn't quite work for me.
