Nicely done Rockband Combi-van Alex54! your MOC really resemble the real thing, the orange color scheme really looks cool. A couple of minor suggestions though: - I agree Capt. Blue Hair, I think the van should be longer, maybe by about two studs. Based on the ref. pic, the second set of windows is the same length as the middle windows, so an additional 2-stud column (and 2x1x2 trans-clear panel for the windows) would do the trick. - If you're into accuracy, make the roof all white, as in the ref. pic. - What's with the two 1 x 6 light bley piece on the roof? But still, overall it's a great MOC.

Of course it's TLG's call. I think KD posted this topic not to influence TLG's decision but just to get the view of the AFOLs here in EB. ------------- And what's the difference of putting weapons in CITY sets and existing CITY themes + weapons from other themes? Could TLG prevent these kids from 'arming' their poor CITY policemen with weapons they get from the other teams? And don't underestimate kids nowadays, it doesn't mean they're gonna be violent thugs when they grow up just because their CITY lego sets have guns. I ain't in anyway pushing for weapons in the CITY theme, I just have a beef with TLG's inconsistent non-violent stance. If they really want to be a non-violent toy company, they should scrap all other themes with violent weapons and stick with the simple, peaceful, and utopic CITY line. The way I see it, they keep the non-violent CITY for their good image and all other themes for the $$$.

This shot is simply hilarious. I'd title this "Bro-mance".

You might be right there...for the moment, as there's always a possibility that we might get Aayla off a cheaper set or even a magnet set. (like Kit and Plo)

Based on these rumored sets, I'm gonna straight out say 2011 will be a much much better year than 2010. There'll be a lot of original sets and not just re-makes of old ones (Slave I, CTT, ARC-170, JSF, AT-AT, Hoth Sets). I'm actually excited about the BPs: the Mandalorian BP (Death Watch) will be way better than the assassin droids/battle droids BPs, and hopefully the Clone Troopers BP will feature new clone variants (ARF troopers, geonosis-camo trooper). And I'm not gonna rant about the prices, by now we are supposed to expect the increasing trend of prices every year, and we can't do anyhting about it but prepare our wallets. I'm quite excited for confirmation of these sets.

TLG needs to be consistent, if they already have guns for the police, swords for the knights, cannons for the pirates, lightsabers for the jedis, blasters for the clones/droids, etc., then what's keeping them from expanding weaponry in the CITY theme? I agree with moderated violence, and I applaud TLG for its non-violence stance, but it's becoming more and more irrelevant nowadays, especially in these times where there's a preponderance of violence-related video games, tv shows, movies, and various media accessible to kids. These minor changes in lego, if ever they do it, won't have that much adverse effect on the psyche of young kids compared to that of the aforementioned examples. I'm no child psychologist, but that's how I view this issue. EDIT: I just now realized, CITY policemen don't have guns, I wonder how they catch the 'bad' guys (which appear in CITY police sets). With their magic handcuffs?!?

Good for you. I would like to have one soon, just waiting for the prices to drop before purchasing. Based on the pics, TLG's details do look amazing, and much better than the Arealight's version.

Super-white-clean! Another uniquely-designed ship Leo-J, I love the 'ribbed' details in front, quite clever use of the white modified 2x1 plates with handles.

Great find Madam, and thanks for sharing with us. Very nice software indeed. Welcome to EB.

What is the most fav set that everyone like
XimenaPaulina replied to Alan Chua's topic in General LEGO Discussion
The topic maybe a bit confusing, but still quite interesting. My personal 'fav' set is the 7676 Republic Attack Gunship. Being a LSW fan from the very start, that was an easy choice for me. But other people liking my chosen fav set? I'm not so sure. -
Custom The Last Airbender Minifigs
XimenaPaulina replied to tin7_creations's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
Wow, amazing customs as usual tin7! I love the high accuracy of your figs with the real characters. I think you pretty much nailed the overall design (face details, torso/leg prints, hairpieces, accessories) of each MF perfectly. Even some of the sculpeys doesn't look like sculpey as they blend seamlessly with lego. And the presentation is very professional-looking as always. Job well-done Sir! -
That's a great start for your zoo Prof! The viewing glass cages are pretty good. I understand the small amount of details due to the limitations of LDD. Maybe your could add a water pool (trans-blue plate/tile) inside the crocodile cage?

MOC: Bulgarian Mausoleum of Georgi Dimitrov v.2
XimenaPaulina replied to vladoniki's topic in LEGO Town
Nicely done vladoniki, I like the smooth finish of the exterior, and it really is accurate with the real museum. The interiors are pretty good too, I love the build of the glass-walled urn. Good job! -
I think it's because if ever there'll be a lego supertank, there would be less playability compared to other sets, since it just looks like one massive block of plates with a couple of blasters on the side and the ever-so-popular flick-fire missiles on the top.

Nice intro, welcome to EB BrickTango. Glad to hear you've come out of your Dark Ages. Hope you enjoy the site. And MOC? I think it's pronounced 'mok'. What's the use of abbreviating it as MOC if it's just going to be pronounced as M-O-C right?.
-
Hi Cecillie, welcome to Eurobricks. Like what they said, it's never too late to make an introduction (I'm even worse, it took more than 1.5 year to make my intro). Anyway, it was nice hearing your story, and I liked your wedding lego MOC. It gave me an idea to incorporate lego on my upcoming wedding like what you did. Well, enjoy your stay here.

Welcome to Eurobricks kohhu. Enjoy the site.

Welcome to Eurobricks Andreas! It's nice to hear a member from the military. How we just wish there was a military theme for lego, but they are pretty strict in their non-violence cause. Good thing there are a lot of military customizers here. Well, continue enjoying the forums.

Nice design, although the wheels look kinda small for the body. A bigger set of wheels would have made it perfect.

Another nice-looking mini-scaled ship, Leo-J. This looks like the villain counterpart of your Argent Phantom (much like the TIE to the X-Wing). Like your first one, a pretty good build for such a small ship with a good amount of details and clever building techniques. And great imagination too on the back story and specs of the ship.
-
Nice, really nice. I love the sleek design, smooth finish, the front archs/slopes and the overall details. Great work Leo-J!
-
My vote goes to the ARC-170 Starfighter, for the simple reason that I love the ship when I first saw it in ROTS. It was also the perfect time for me to finally have one since I missed out on the first version. Great design, relatively acceptable price, plus it has my fave jedi of all, Kit Fisto. What more can I ask for? (Come to think of it, a third ARC pilot would have made the set perfect)
-
Pretty good custom jedi, nice combination of different parts. Well done.

Mandalorian BP = Sweet. Instant hit for sure. Clone Trooper BP = Again? If ever TLG releases this one, I hope it'll be new versions of the clones (like the ones we saw in Landing at Point Rain) with new helmets and not just the regular clones from the Clone Walker BP. Mixed CW & OT BPs = possible but a bit improbable (based on the 'coupled' BPs of the recent years) TFU2 BP = highly unlikely since it's not as popular as mainstream CW and the SW movies (though it would be nice to have one).
