  1. Which makes me curious how the hell in this goddamn desert did Papa Smurf trust Shiela in the first place to: a) tell her about his protective role and b) believe that Tomato-Face is more worthy to be protected than Patrick? See what I mean for trusting too early in the game, especially with the wrong people? And for heaven's sake, please request order/instruct Papa Smurf (or any other protector out there) to give you protection tonight and for the coming nights. We've already lost one of the two "Pillars of the Camp", we certainly don't want to lose the other half in you Mehmet. But if Shiela is indeed a Cultist, then I have a bad feeling the Cultists would take out Papa Smurf next (his/her identity known by virtue of communicating with Shiela), and the logically you Mehmet.
  2. If Papa Smurf is indeed telling the truth about Sheila "asking him to protect her instead of Mr. Fitzdef", what Ms. Tomato-face has done is very selfish and un-Innocent-like/anti-Town! Who in their right minds would even think of that in the first place?!? I can't see any logical move in that, putting "the Towniest of Townies" at high risk (and him eventually getting killed) is a a dumb move for an Innocent, especially if she's much much much less useful than the departed ever-so-hardworking Fitz. Obviously this isn't an Innocent townie move, it's a calculated scummy megablock Cultist move. It certainly is no coincidence that the night that Shiela allegedly influentially removed Patrick's protection, Mr. Fitzdef got killed!
  3. Says the guy who's quite active himself. Quiet? Perhaps. Offering small insights? Please read back again and tell me if I've not made myself heard, and you'll even find that I might have given far more "contributions" than you silly Professor. Making 'quietness' as the basis of suspicion? I guess that's what years of years of attaining your doctorate degree will give you. But don't worry, I won't suspect you the same way that you suspected me. I know better not to suspect someone without anything to back it up. Like what I did yesterday, I will try to look once again on the previous day happenings and actually offer my own suggestion publicly, independent of Mehmet's "Nocturnal Actions Central Command Centre".
  4. It might just be because of too much 'lighting effects' on the boxart. While I personally don't find it 'unflattering to the character' I agree that the Andrea figure looks much better IRL than her depiction in the boxart (the same can be said for other minifigures - seeing is believing).
  5. At the very first post of this topic.
  6. Thanks for pointing that out, I never thought about Sarah. After a quick look in BL, Andrea and Sarah do indeed have the same skin color tone - Medium Dark Flesh: Good call, that's very observant of you! So this somehow increases the mix-and-match possibilities for Andrea, but still less than what can be achieved using flesh-colored doll figure parts of the other Friends characters. Ha, I knew the "singer rating system" will get some complaints eventually. It was just a matter of personal preference by the reviewer, and not meant to be taken as a fact. @Banjo, really? Britney the freakin' lip-syncer better than Grammy-award winning musical artist/composer/singer Taylor Swift? Here's a song for you:
  7. Cool find Fangy! Simple but effective use of the minifig to convey the message! Coincidentally, I'm currently involved with the BizSafe (Worker's Safety Regulation of MoM) Program of our company, and I could very well relate with this one! "SAFETY FIRST" as they say in the workplace.
  8. LEGOLAND Star Wars™ Miniland Experience at LEGOLAND® Windsor Resort In the tradition of Star Wars-themed areas in mainland European or US LEGOLAND parks, LEGOLAND Star Wars™ Miniland Experience will officially open at LEGOLAND® Windsor Resort on March 2012. You can read more info and see more teaser images in this topic and comment if you’re excited about this news!
  9. UPDATE: More info on the zones within the attraction and teaser pics added to the first post!
  10. You're not the only ones - that dang bear-lookin' clone helmet has fooled the best of us. Stay tuned! Here's the general interview process: - We contact the person if he's interested doing the interview with us. - Once we get confirmation, all of us bloggers adjust our schedules accordingly to accommodate the interview. - We book a flight to the country of destination (in this case Denmark). - We go to the interviewee's house, set-up the interview room with all our hi-tech cameras and other equipment (and don't forget those Death Star throne chairs!) - We do the actual interview... - After the interview, the interviewee, out of hospitality, serves us lunch/dinner, and if we're lucky we could get a couple of LEGOs here and there from his collection. - We leave, say our thanks to the interviewee, and catch our flight back to our Rebel Base. - We post-edit the "footages", run through a final screening, before publishing/publicizing the interview. Quite a complicated and tedious work isn't it?
  11. Oh you're right, that is the Singapore Dollar price, I forgot to convert, my mistake! This set is US$10 (I bought it at SG$20). These two.
  12. And who would've thought that the Second Day will even be longer (and better) which is currently 24 pages and counting... Truly a testament of how exciting and "hyper"-active this game is! Kudos to all players involved and to our hosts for a great job so far!
  13. Surprisingly it is. Not until the LOTR wave comes... Interesting, but judging from the lukewarm attention it has been getting in terms of lack of reviews (it is only now that SilentMode and I made reviews) I was beginning to think that nobody loves poor Andrea.
  14. ME! I thought the same thing as I've said in my review. I think it was just an excuse to increase the parts count and justify an additional "mini-build" to add another part in the somewhat limited elements of this set. If I would've done it, I'll definitely go with this better-lookin' CMS boom box. Anyway, great review SilentMode, it looks like we made the review on the same day and you were just a couple of hours ahead of me, hehe. Still, it's good to see various takes on this set, as I've been relatively more "welcoming" to this Friends theme as a SW fan and I could certainly understand where you're coming from on your views on this set. And I love those various hairpieces on Andrea!
  15. (Damn Andrea keepin' me occupied once again in my day-dreams... ) While I am still highly suspicious of Ms. Balls, a "voice of reason" and a "good counsel" advised me privately that Ms. Balls' scummy voting behavior yesterday might just be due to her inexperience in life. And with another blockbuster revelation by our ever-so-hardworking Mehmet the Slut, I am inclined to believe her findings on Melaena. Between Ms. Taylor and Ms. Boots, I'm more willing to give a chance to another desperado claiming as a Virgin (but seriously this is the last time I'll believe such a claim!) than someone who hasn't been much helpful to us (except for giving me one oily and greasy good time yesterday ) and was caught in a LIE! I'm sorry Ms. Boots, I cherish the short time we've spent together, but I will have to: Unvote: Ophellia Balls (fhomess) and Vote: Melaena Tools (CallMePie)
  16. Name: Andrea's Stage Number: 3932 Theme: Friends Year: 2012 Pieces: 87 Figures: 1 Price: $9.99 | £9.99 Links: Brickset | Bricklink | Peeron The Box Front As the musically-talented one among the Friends characters, Andrea is prominently featured in front of the box displaying all the components of the set - the stage, platform with mic, grand piano, and a radio. The box has the standard Friends artwork, but one thing that is different from the smaller impulse sets is the Andrea figure shown at the lower right corner. A bit "redundant" if you ask me seeing two Andrea figures beside each other, though I guess the inset Andrea with her name below is meant to "introduce her" to potential girl kid buyers who don't know anything about LEGO Friends. Instant connection to the kids perhaps? "Oh mommy, I wanna buy Andrea, pwease?" Back As with the other small Friends sets, the back shows the close-up shot of our dear Friend Andrea, along with three panels depicting the playability features offered by the set - taking centerstage, singing in the platform, and playing the piano. The other Friends characters together with the similarly-sized sets they appear in are also lined-up below, just a simple reminder that "you could collect Andrea's Friends" if you'd like for her to have company. Like most sets, the lone figure of the set is shown in the 1:1 section at the top of the box (as opposed to the "representative builds" in the impulse sets) The Contents This is what will greet you once you unload the contents of the box - two bags of our precious LEGO, a folded instruction booklet, and a loose black 4x12 plate (which always makes me wonder: Is there any particular reason why such plate pieces are loose, not only in this set but for others as well, considering they could easily fit in either bag? ) The Instruction Booklet The instruction booklet features the same outwork as the box, minus the age range and the inset Andrea figure. Like what I've pointed out in my previous review, the instructions are very much readable and easy to understand with a light purple backdrop accentuated by those cute and subtle curvish-butterflyish-and other girly prints in the corners. The Bagged Contents The are two unnumbered bags of LEGO pieces in this set, here's the first one: ...which gives us these parts: These comprise the large pieces of the sets. Seeing a nice assortment magenta, medium lavender, and dark purple accompanied by the usual black, white, and red is very soothing to my eyes. Though I don't understand why Andrea's legs and hair are included here instead of being packed together with the head and torso in the other bag. Here's the second bag: ...which contains the smaller pieces of the set: As most of you by now know that the torso and legs of the Friends doll-figures are separately packed, but interestingly it seems they always come in different types of packing. Both of Andrea's legs and torso is packed in a mini plastic bag different to the candy wrapper-like packaging of Stephanie and Emma in their respective impulse sets (as I've highlighted in my previous review) Pieces of Interest Even if this is just a small set, I'm delighted to see two printed parts: the 2x4 tile with Andrea's name and the 1x4 tile for the radio. Now if TLG can do this for Friends, why not for similarly-sized Star Wars sets (and for other themes as well) right? I also very much welcome these new (at least for me) colors in my parts collection: medium lavender, dark purple, magenta, bright pink, and bright light yellow. The Figure Ladies and gentlemen, meet our talented young teen diva - Andrea! Obviously, the first thing that you'd notice about her doll figure is the darker-colored skin compared to the other Friends characters. This is probably meant to reach to wider market of kid girl customers. I think it's a good idea with noble intentions to represent as much "racial lineage" as possible, but it does present some limitations in the playability, which I'll highlight later. Back to the figure, Andrea's hair is curly and very textured and like all of the Friends characters is also made up of a slightly soft "plastic rubber" material. Andrea has green eyes, pink lips, and wears a lime green top with some musical notes prints to match her musical personality. She has a pair of white "3/4 pants" and pink slip-ons to complete her get-up, whose overall look really complements her "sun-tanned" skin very well. Ok you could cover your eyes now, as KDM once again lends her grossly outdated haircut, this time to Andrea. Just showing the compatibility of Friends and standard minifig hairpieces... Speaking of hairpieces, one could switch hairpieces with the other Friends characters to give Andrea different looks: However, as I mentioned earlier, her dark-colored skin somehow presents a limitation in mix-and-matching possibilities with other Friends figure parts, as shown by these examples: So as it is now, the only ways to give Andrea a new look is by giving her a) a different hairpiece, b) putting some accessories on her or c) getting the "other/standard Andrea outfit". The Build As a relatively small set, the build is expectedly fast and eaay-to-do. There are only four "mini-builds" in this set, these are: Radio/Music Player Where will Andrea play her favorite CDs without her music player right? A simple 4-piece red gadget accentuated by the use of that nicely printed 1x4 tile. But honestly they couldn't they just have put the radio boom box from the CMS figs right? Mini-Platform with Microphone Stand Yep, at least that's best description I could give it. The dark purple-white combo and the use of the quarter circle plates really works for me, on top of the three bottom spotlights which I find as quite clever details. The Stage Simple yet effective. The colors used combine very well with each other, not over-the-top and just about the right combination to give the stage a distinct "look and personality". The curtains, side light dishes, and Andrea's name give the stage a proper amount of detailing. Grand Piano Admittedly, I've seen better brick-built grand pianos before, but they usually employ illegal building techniques and/or comprise of too many pieces and as such, are not suitable for normal sets. This set's grand piano, for its intended purpose, is quite decent IMO. The overall shape, color, and detailing is there, and it even has glass/goblet (with no water!) reserved for the pianist and a mic holder at the side. The Completed Build Here's the complete set-up, and I really think the individual elements fully represent Andrea's musical personality and provides good "role-playing" playability for the kids. Leftover Parts Extra mic! The Set at Play Introducing Heartlake's newest singing sensation... Andrea! Andrea with extra-long music player and singing to her heart's content... Andrea channeling her "Inner " behind the piano keyboard... _______________________ Conclusion Design: 9/10 - Like I previously stated, the whole set-up effectively brings out the musical personality of Andrea, with each individual mini-build designed with a specific purpose to highlight Andrea's musical talents. Parts: 10/10 - With the last three Friends sets that I've brought, I've come to love all the bright candy colors of this theme. This set is no exception, it has six "rare" colors that I previously didn't have and the printed pieces get a star on my book. Figures: 9/10: I love the unique look of Andrea, I think her having a different colored skin compared to her other "Friends" gives her an outstanding personality figure-wise. However, this "difference" also limits the mix-&-matching possibilities with other doll figure parts, so I can't give the figure a perfect score. Build 8/10: Not challenging at all, but the set is meant for FUN right? Playability 9/10: Four playable scenarios (listen to music player, take center-stage, sing on the mini platform, play the piano) for an 80-piece set? Not bad IMO. Price 9/10: $10 ain't much, but I didn't give the full rating since it only has one figure. Getting the two impulse sets for $5 will give you two figures plus the same number of parts. If only there was an Andrea impulse set. Overall: 94% Final Thoughts: Seeing as this is the smallest set to get the Andrea figure, I gave it a shot, and the other parts and elements are simply added bonus. So if you are simply looking to get the Andrea to complete your Friends characters, this is the perfect way to get her figure inexpensively. Once again, thanks for taking the time to read this review! If you haven't checked it out yet, you could see my Double Review on 3930 - Stephanie's Outdoor Bakery and 3931 - Emma's Splash Pool HERE. 17. 1. You even cleared him early today didn't you? and 2. By virtue of the hosts' revelation of the true nature of the Cultists' win condition. Ms. Betty Swallocks summarized it best: That's the beauty of this "public plan", the persons involved could either follow it or have an alternative plan behind the scenes. This is something to keep these muthafuckin' chicken Cultists guessing. Put them at the edge of their seats, play mind games with them.
  18. Still the easiest and quickest way if you ask me. Will save us a lot of time and Nocturnal Actions.
  19. My simplistic humble suggestions: 1. You should be investigated again tonight by both: a) Mr. Fitz's investigator and b) Mr. Goodenarde 2. The results of the investigation should NOT be reported to you, but to Mr. Fitz, the only confirmed Innocent so far 3. You should NOT have the "mirror cloak whatever nonsense that is" on you tonight as that would just mess up with the investigations. Instead, get another form of protection from the other protector. The results will hopefully shed some light into this mess. And since you're claiming to have contacts with these Nocturnally Active people, you could track if they will be cooperating or not. For example, if you still receive that stupid cloak even if there was a specific instruction not to, then that person should be suspected. So on and so forth. Again, these are just my humble suggestions and should be NOT read as if I'm influencing the Night Actions. You have the contacts Mehmet, so you control/suggest them. If anyone finds these suggestions flawed, feel free to voice your opinions.
  20. Harriet the Slut = Heng Lewly = Gawd, I hate that character, so evil and oinky I despise him. And Rick Poor Percy getting slaughtered early? I've said it before and I'll say it again: The Cultists are COWARDS with NO BALLS! (Or Ms. Balls is their only "Balls? ) But still, I HOPE that we'll find a way to verify the investigator's and Mehmet's claims... Those should NOT be simply ignored...
  21. Those two were my top two suspects until the investigation result on you, as reported by Mr. Fitz, complicated things up. I know you've been busting your behind ever since the start, but I'm still finding it hard to believe that so many people would trust you in the first day. Especially since YOU remind me of a character on one of the book's I've read (Yeah, the Gods apparently allow me now to reference my favorite books! ) named Heng Lewly accusing a newbie "K-Girl" Manns of easily trusting him in a similar situation and blurting out a phrase along the lines of: "Who in their right minds would reveal important/vital info on the first day?" Another staged act to look innocent perhaps? I've read this before in a book called Gotham City Mafia where a character named Deadshot also played the same "I'm a newbie" PM card, and he turned out to be scum. My point is, we were all selected in this expedition not because we're young or old/experienced or inexperienced, but because we have the ability to carry out our functions. So I don't buy that private conversation. Coupled with his voting-unvoting-revoting of Mr. Leplot and her half-assed/half-hearted unvoting of Mr. Ftiz yesterday, Ms. Balls certainly looks scummy to me and is my top suspect from the very start of the day. Should I vote for Ms. Balls and ignore the majority who's voting for Ms. Taylor? Should I also just dismiss the fact that there was a Cultist investigation result on Mehmet? I'm in a tight spot right here... I will go with my initial suspicion and Vote: Ophellia Balls (fhomess) And since it seems the way the votes are going that Ms. Taylor is on her way to Rock-God's mouth, how will we deal with the Cultist investigation result on Mehmet? Will there be any other ways to verify the veracity of the investigator's and Mehmet's claims if we would be deciding to save Mehmet?
  22. Not if "the list" is a but a figment of Mehmet's creative imagination. Judging by his ability to come up with convincing impromptu plays in a jiffy without breakin' a sweat, I'd say there's a good chance he could have very well just made up said list to gain our trust and for us to believe him. Even if he happens to be a cultist, there is still that chance that that many people were not dumb enough to trust an unconfirmed innocent, and all those superhero-coded role-claims could've been just purely fictional. The way I see it (from the outside looking in) is that the more realistic and more logical role-claim is the "supposed" investigator approaching Mr. Fitzzzzz after he was cleared, ironically, by Mehmet early today (and by virtue of our hosts' revelation of the true nature of the Cultists win condition), compared to the dumbfounding 11 Significant Info gained by Mehmet on Day One! Count guys Count! 11! 3 Virgins and 8 Nocturnal Skill Wielders? 1-2 dumbos blindly trusting Mehmet perhaps I'll believe, but 11 dumbos?? Hell is about to break loose when Mehmet wakes up! This is gonna be mighty interesting...
