Harry Potter: Wizard's Duel - Duelling Club

It's time for an update: -
Relax guys, I'm pretty sure Vos will appear in a future set, I can't think of any logical reason why TLG wouldn't release his minifig considering they already gave us a teaser in the prelims. I just hope it will not be in that tri-winged shuttle.
-
I hope you're wrong (in a good way) that they won't even consider the possibility of doing the SW BPs in China. I, personally, am bothered by the sub-par quality of Chinese lego plastic relative to the regular pieces. Yeah, they might be improving, but there will always be that lacking "X-factor" that normal lego plastic have. I'm sorry if this is slowly becoming a bit off-topic, but if ever TLG decides to make leg/arm prints for regular minifigs, I hope they won't compromise the quality of the plastic.

Oh and how could I forget these two classic family-based cartoon series: The Simpsons and The Family Guy. These two, along with Spongebob Squarepants, are my ultimate sources of much-needed laughter. -
I think it would be unfair to compare the Death Watch Mandos to the new Boba Fett, of course the new Boba fig will stand out because it is supposed to stand out, considering Boba is a main SW character while the blue Mandos are just generic soldiers, and hence their design might not be as detailed as Boba's. Regarding the speeder bike, I think it's pretty much spot-on, so adding additional parts might make it larger and/or out-of-proporrtion. I think the little turret and mini-cannon-thingy were just add-ons since the Mando speeder bike is relatively smaller compared to other BP vehicles, so they have to make additional elements to meet the piece count.

Because those are all 'specialised' minifigs. We wouldn't expect such special treatment to generic clone minifigs would we?

A couple of small plane sets: 7643 - Air Show Plane / Theme: CITY (NEW) - LXF Modifications: 1) The 41531 cylinder piece cannot be inserted properly so I replaced the 2x8 plate with a 2x6 and completely inserted it inside the body so there won't be any protruding part (obstruction) - Bug reported here. 2) No applied stickers on designated parts 3) No torso print for the lady --- 7688 - Sports Plane / Theme: CITY (NEW) - LXF Modifications: 1) No applied stickers on designated parts 2) No torso print for the pilot

When I was doing 7643, I encountered this bug: the 41531 cylinder piece cannot be inserted in this step due to the protruding 1x2 part of a 2x8 plate. Here's the LXF. I did a minor modification just to complete the LDD of the set (replaced the 2x8 plate with a 2x6 and completely inserted inside the body so there won't be any protruding part).

I know we have our own preferences, but like what I've said before, I personally don't like leg (and arm) prints for clones, it's just too much details for a minifig IMO. I guess the Bomb Squad Trooper having those white diamond prints on their legs is more of a special case (since it won't look right if plain orange legs were just used) rather than a trend that we'll see in the future. I just don't see TLG doing those leg prints for the regular set minifigs. I believe those China machines are made specifically for the Collectible Series and magnet minifigs and not for the regular sets.

Yeah I actually read the whole manga (english version of course). And as a basketball fan, I really liked Shohoku's epic match against the highly-touted No.1 team in the nation, Sannoh. It was great seeing them beating all odds and miraculously escaping with the win in that gruelling match, culminated with the winning play of Rukawa passing the ball to his teammate mortal rival Sakuragi to set-up the game-winning shot. That was just classic basketball and story-telling for me. It's just too bad the anime and the manga was never continued due to the untimely passing of the author. -
Pretty nice MOC thomassio, I actually don't mind the skinny legs, that is a strange and weird creature afterall, so anything goes for his body parts.

Star Wars: The Clone Wars: season 3 discussion
XimenaPaulina replied to Corvus's topic in Culture & Multimedia
I just saw Hunt for Ziro, and I must say I really liked it a lot, it was an enjoyable episode. The song-and-dance number adds a nice touch to the series, we got to finally see Vos, and the fight seen between Obi/Vos and Bane is great IMO. I think the way Bane handled/fought those two jedi is quite impressive and just convinces me more that he is better than Babby Fett. Just look ate the way he downed both Vos and Obi, Bane really has darn good combination of "street-fighting" skills, clever gadgetry, and just cunning attitude. And BTW, I don't want to sound politically incorrect, but I always thought Ziro was, uhm, a gay Hutt (because of the way he speaks). Even if it was a bit unrealistic and unbelievable at first, I actually liked their superhuman jumping abilities. (It kinda reminds me of the Eric Bana-Incredible Hulk jumping around those mountains in the movie). I think this is a quite more acceptable jedi skill showmanship than Mace force pushing thousands of droids in the cartoon series. -
Thanks for sharing this Aanchir, I will try to update this when I find the time.

Pretty good version of the Tumbler you got there the bricked one. Nice reverse build technique on the front sides, and great to see those flames on the rear engine thruster. Good job!

Jedi Padawan Zerb Stratlind versus Jedi Initiate Hans Olo (pls. ignore jedi Youngling - should be Jedi Initiate, sorry, I just recycled the photo) Round 1 Zerb Stratlind | 5______________________ Hans Olo | 5 Low - 1______________________________Mid - 0 Force Push - 0_________________________Kick - 0 Sabre Throw - 0________________________Force Push - 0 Low - 0_____________________________ Parry - 0 Mid - 0______________________________ Mid - 0 Health: 5____________________________Health: 4 Yoda's padawan Zerb Stratlind once again engages newly-minted jedi initiate Hans Olo in a friendly sparring duel. The last time these two met, the then-youngling Hans surprised the more experience padawan with an impressive showing of duelling skills. Now, Zerb looks to return back the favor and promises he will not go easily with Hans this time. The padawan begins to attack with a lightning-quick low swing of his lightsaber that catches Hans off-guard and hits him on the legs. Even after being hurt, the initiate tries to kick Zerb but a strong wave of the Force pushes Hans back. Zerb then throws his lightsaber towards his opponent, only to be bounced back with a timely Force Push from Hans. Zerb immediately recovers his weapon and attempts to strike Hans on the feet once more, but the initiate successfully parries the attack. After catching their breath, both duelists surge towards each other and swings their lightsabers against each other's body, as loud saber clashes can be heard throughout the training room due to the cancelled out attacks. Zerb holds a slim lead after the culmination of the first round. Send in your Round 2 DS when ready.

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 3 poll
XimenaPaulina replied to WhiteFang's topic in Special LEGO Themes
My vote goes to the Elf, just a lovely minifig and really reminds me of those in LOTR. I also voted for All Series, since as a general Lego fan, you cannot just easily choose one specific series because most of the figs they released are quite good overall. And yes, I would still like for this Collectible Minifig Series to continue, even if I'm waaay behind collecting them. -
Regarding Vos being cut in the T-6 shuttle, at first I was a bit disappointed because of the teaser prelims, but it's quite understandable considering we'll already be getting two new jedis and another one would be too much to ask from TLG IMO. Let's not be like spoiled brats complaining about not getting him. Let's be thankful we'll be having Saesee and Shaak, and I'm pretty sure Vos will appear in a future set soon (I'm betting in the second 2011 wave).
-
The use of the robot arms in the 74-Zs is quite unique and very clever too. The BARC looks nice too, but it's a bit small IMO. Now he elements for your Saleucami scene is almost complete, you just need the custom Adi Gallia (which I'm sure you'll be able to do easily).

Great MOC darth yogi! I see you've found a way to use your newly-made 212th Airborne trooper and AT-RT drivers eh? And it's truly a great way to showcase them in this very well-done MOC. I love your AT-RT, it's always nice to see other fans' take on this build. The skeleton looks good too. Overall an impressive job!

Another good entry, very nice concept and well done on the execution. Am I correct to assume that you did some 'trick photography' to 'multiply' the size of this build? In any way, this is still a very good creation and the best of luck in the contest!

Admiral Ackbar's family restaurant and Jazz cafe
XimenaPaulina replied to sok117's topic in Watto's Junkyard
Great entry sok! I see you came very well-prepared for the competition eh. I really like the modular build of this resto, lots of scenes to enjoy looking at, overall just another busy day for Ackbar's Restaurant! I wish you in all the luck in the competition pal. -
Very professional presentation, I just love the unconventional shape and SNOT build of the base. The brickbuilt thought bubble is a very clever idea too. Best of luck in the contest!
