Very cool brick built base. It seems very promising. Can't wait to see your progress.

Community Build: Soldiers Barrack's
Commodore Hornbricker replied to Alex the Great's topic in Pirate MOCs
Nice. I like the color scheme of the building. I think you could probably put a little more detail into the interior of the barracks. -
There is so much going on it's like a medieval invasion party cruise ship from 1066 AD. Great job.

Maybe we could get Big Cam on that Intervention show (I think all top ten daily post counts belong to Big Cam). That would be pretty funny! I don't have an EB problem you're the one with the problem. I am in complete control. I usually have it open on my computer most of the day and update the site when I can (some days loads and others not at all). I don't usually visit the site on the weekends. I try to post frequently as I think it sucks when someone spends weeks on a MOC and they get 10 responses and then someone posts a topic like this and it gets a million. I also don't really get the memebers who post all the time but as far as I can recall have never posted anything they have ever created with Lego...That's weird to me but to each their own.

My simple MOC/mainly a short story
Commodore Hornbricker replied to Aquila D'oro's topic in Pirate MOCs
I enjoyed that. Thanks. I like how you flipped things sideways to simulate the underwater looking up shot. Nice photography trickery! -
Let me know how it goes. I haven't built my copy yet either. Have fun!

Congrats to Captain Zuloo and Captain Blackmoor!
Commodore Hornbricker replied to Big Cam's topic in LEGO Pirates
Wonderful new tags. Does Zorro still make you pin them to your actual flesh? -
Build a frigate with Captain Green Hair
Commodore Hornbricker replied to Captain Green Hair's topic in Pirate MOCs
I have started one on small hulls with three mid sections. I haven't gotten very far yet but the hull build up looks really nice. You can see pictures here. The Making of a Fleet -
WIP The Making of a Fleet
Commodore Hornbricker replied to Commodore Hornbricker's topic in Pirate MOCs
Alright you scallywags. I have a few more pictures of my First Rate Ship of the Line the HMS Foudroyant. She looks like she will end up with between 110 and 120 guns. Next up will be tackling the bow and the stern. -

Absolutely fantastic. This is very good stuff. The layout and all the detail is perfect. I can't actually believe it is the right size. -
Will there be anymore re-issued sets?
Commodore Hornbricker replied to Jack Bricker's topic in LEGO Pirates
I'd rather see a ship like 6271 come back. I'd like more small hulled ships with one or two mid sections. They only made a few of these and the parts are harder to come by. You can find the parts for the larger ships pretty easily. I would rather see more ships like the new Imperial Flagship in the future than re-releases or updates of the SES (as awesome as that ship is!) or others. -
Bricklink is mostley used Lego and by far the easiest place to go to buy specific peieces in specific quantities. For new Lego you either have to purchase a new Lego set or you can visit their website and go to the pick a brick catalog and select new parts. The parts they offer are limited so you are not going to find everything you may want their. I think before you start purchasing parts for your ship(s) you should probablly figure out what type of ship you want to build and what style building method you want to use...i.e. will you use the prefabricated hulls or would you rather have a brick built hull. Do you want a brig, junk, sloop, frigate ship of the line. Is it a soldiers ship or a pirate ship. What era of tall ships do you prefere. The ship index has lots of great examples. Best of luck

Build a frigate with Captain Green Hair

I am also using his fantastic technique to grow tomatoes in my garden. Oh and it also gets out any type of stain. Is there nothing this fantastic technique can not do....? -
What do prefer: sets or MOCs?
Commodore Hornbricker replied to Ralph_S's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I love to buy sets. For a long time I kept the parts for a lot of my favorite sets together in bags and segregated from the rest of my collection but then as I began to MOC more and more I have gone away from that. I have a block of CC set buildings assembled because they are so fantastic and one of my Eldorado Fortress sets is also assembled because I love that set. Other than that I love to buy new sets because sets = parts and parts + imagination/reserach + effort = MOC's. I do like knowing I have this very heavy container full of instruction books though.... -
I like the little ships but the problem with them is that they didn't come with a single mid section. I would have loved them a whole lot more if they had as you could have bought multiples and lengthened the ship.

Community Build: Government House
Commodore Hornbricker replied to Captain Zuloo's topic in Pirate MOCs
WOW you really did a lot with that little space! I love the interior. Excellent job. -
Absolutely! GREEN DOORS...good!

I agree. It was the last ship I added to complete my collection. It was some really great parts in cool colors but it just doesn't look at all right together. I am a big fan of the small hulls. I wish they weren't so darn hard and expensive to come by! Great review.

Build a frigate with Captain Green Hair
Commodore Hornbricker replied to Captain Green Hair's topic in Pirate MOCs
I am building a large ship of the line named HMS Foudroyant Foudroyant MOC Page using the new hull sections. While I haven't started on the bow and stern, I don't anticipate any significant problems. -
I don't get it and that guys mustache was crazy.

Looks pretty neat but isn't it supposed to be 16 x 16?
