  1. Hmm... the posts are dated 5/10/2007... but surely these images haven't been online that long. Buh? Anyway, calling these the Nuva is just icky. Another case of a pre-existing franchise having it's main character's names tossed around onto any old body. Funny that the best Lewa mask ever was his first one in 2001. Meh... I'll be passin' on these 2008 guys. The new shooters are lightyears ahead of the lame-o Zamor launcher design... I'll grab a few of those off Brickshelf. ::goes to sleep until 2009::
  2. Yeah, they were so much better than the Nuva masks were... and most of these newer ones have been nothing but organicy dog-faces. As for "PM lists" for pics... lol. You're thinking of some different site with strict rules. Here? Post away!
  3. I THINK I still have this one: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=91862 I've had others, as well as gravity-feed dispensers... but this is the only one still intact after moving 5 or so times.
  4. X D Or, as Brothers Brick puts it: http://www.brothers-brick.com/2007/09/26/n...s-set-pictures/ "Well, it
  5. These orcs and dragons in these newer sets... the parts are SYMMETRICAL. Meaning, they can also be moced with! LEGO, you're LEARNING! I can buy more of your sets now!
  6. Heh. watch us find out that this isa Lego "disinformation" strategy to retard inevitable leaks they have every damn year lol. Anyway, best to continue discussion of any future developements on this in the other 2008 pics topic.
  7. Sounds cool, and most welcome if it means one less AWFUL System set with characters that don't even look like the Bionicle characters they're supposed to. Anyway, might as well discuss any future developements on this in the 2008 topic. Closing.
  8. Wow. These don't look very good lol. Still, I wouldn't mind getting a few of that blaster Lewa's holding. Looks like good mecha thrusters. I'd get these guys as parts. But for the most part... bleh. BoooOOOoooring!
  9. Oh, and if you think Chyna's singing is bad there, you should have heard on Sirius Satellite's Howard Stern Show singing "Holiday". It was actually WORSE. <O><O>
  10. Well with Jedi, it wasn't like Empire ended and a week later they went to go get Han... it's just assumed that a good deal of time has passed. I doubt the Death Star's destruction would impact Endor all that greatly. But yeah, one of my biggest problems, right on par with the Ewoks... is how all the main characters had changed. Their acting BLEW. It felt like they were tourists allowed on the movie set, or handed their scripts to read just 5 minutes before arrival. They'd made it big, and now they didn't give a rat's megablocks about putting in a good performance lol. With Sith... bah. C-3PO spitting out cute (annoying) catch phrases... he was like one of those electronic cursing keychains, except he was just saying mentally handicapped stuff. It was just a CGI programmer's hard-on, the whole movie. Sad that Clone Wars the cartoon was so entertaining (where Grievous got his cough, at the end) and yet the movie taking place immediately after was embarrassing. And why was Anakin turning bad? He did what to Padme? MAN was it executed poorly. Most undramatic. It's like, "Woah, wait, what? She's... DYING... from something?!?" Back to that Grievous thing... in the cartoon, he was one cool bastard. Then, as the Jedi chase him straight over into the movie, his voice now sounds like, well, stupid. Come on. A franchise as large as Star Wars? They can't handle SIMPLE continuity control? Preposterously lazy.
  11. Yeah. I was looking at your pics and was like, "What a BAD design for the trailer!" ...but then realized it was a play feature. :-P The green car is a bit out of place, looking kinda' lame next to the rest of the set. All in all though, I'm likin' the parts variety in this. Everyone who builds with Technic should snag this as accent pieces to their mocs. (You can NEVER have too many 1x1 slopes). Question: On the box, it looks like the smokestacks are made with super-polished chrome pieces. But your own pics look like they cheaped out with the flat silver... am I right, or is it just how the pics turned out?
  12. "Visitor Q" It's a japanese movie with English subtitles. You'll probably never see it (download it?) unless I spill the beans on the movie, so be warned, I'm doing so. In short, A dysfunctional family meets up with a strange man who makes them "normal" by making them first even MORE messed up. The kid gets picked on at school, so he beats his mother...violently. The father is too busy trying to make ends meet, while fighting his own homosexual desires. Both parents just let themselves be hurt, for they are miserable. Strange man appears, clocks father in head with a large rock. On way home, he sneaks up on him and smashes his skull AGAIN. But instead of getting help, he (APPARENTLY?) takes him home to dinner! LOL He seduces / rapes the boy. Teaches the mom how to squirt milk. And aids the husband by videotaping (validating) him murdering a whore he's been sleeping with. Mom and Dad have a nervous breakdown of sorts, getting close to each other as they DISSECT the dead body. The boy crashes as well, but then realizes that the stranger came to FIX their family by "normalizing" their dysfunctional family attributes TOO much until it was ridiculous for even them. The son's attackers return in broad daylight at the house to start a fire / beat him up, but mom and dad go ninja and kill them too, gaining the respect of the son. Soon after leaving, the stranger recognizes their runaway daughter (from pictures in her old room) who's now whoring herself out... and he clocks HER in the head with a rock too lol. She saunters home, bloody, and sees her younger brother regressed into a baby, suckling mom out in the garden... and then she smiles, followed by joining him on her mother's other side. In short, the stranger reset the family back to the point that the children were first born, as if their 10+ years of insanity had never happened. Lotsa' sex, a bit of violence here and there... but there's also comedy goin' on too... however abstract. It should be more disturbing than it is, but the nonchalant attitudes tossed around the dinner table as mom goes crashing through rice paper walls screaming somehow buffered it. It's a good watch, if at least once.
  13. <O><O> ::spits out soda::
  14. I like the new skellies. I hated how the original ones had floppyassed arms. And the dragon... a bit made for children, but MAN OH MAN does it beat crap like this, hands-down! http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=210512 http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=210513 I guess they learned that: A. The viking dragons didn't look ALL that great, despite dumbing-down some parts. B. The old dinosaur as well as Dino Attack lines had USELESS replay value for mocs. Sure, it's a bit kiddy, but there's buttloads of mocing potential in this new dragon. As for the new cones... I'm not totally against them, as they have uses elsewhere, but here... attached to the white barbs? No. Ain't workin'. Those should be attached to the smooth type cones.
  15. Violet. Chome. X-D Yeah, Lego wouldn't just call it "GREEK!!!" and leave it at that. Maybe like, Olympus Adventure or something, but they'd probably keep a country's name out of it.
  16. There were but 2 Transformers I wanted currently... Meantime and the MP3 Soundwave from Japan. Well, my list got shorter (lol). Turns out Meantime's not even a real watch! Hell with that! http://flickr.com/photos/king_emmanuel/1286324799/
  17. Yeah, his evil wife sure seemed like a good candidate for the Rani, especially after (I think?) that was her picking up the ring left inside his funeral ashes. Memory restoration FTW.
  18. Ew, wait... didn't they ever get around to making Taun Tauns in Lego yet? Anyway, fun bootleg stuff of Bionicle... and worse yet, they made a much-needed female chestplate that Lego STILL hasn't done! http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=154688
  19. Regardless of the masks they wear... I want about 8 billion of those blue trans pieces underneath. SO much potential for those. As for the cases... they are better for mocing than canisters have been for a loooong time. So, yay if you moc. Meh if you don't. *sweet* EDIT:Hey,wait... are you able to put two canister fronts back to back with pegs to make a single containment unit? I'd usually say, "SWWET JESUS NO! No part modifying!!!" ... but in this case, even if you ordered replacements from Lego, chances are they're still from the same run, still with the same problem. I wonder how Lego plastic takes to a heating gun used for arts and crafts? I used to modify bent limbs on action figures this way. Unfortunately, sometimes you'd be waiting for the plastic to turn malleable, and instead it'd spontaneously combust in most disfiguring ways...
  20. And now begins another 1000 years of peace that the bible spoke of.
  21. No, they're totally meant for mocing. There's joints I've been using since 2001 that are still A-Ok. But ever since those long socket pieces from the Visorak era... breakiness. And I'm not talking from mocing, I mean from me: A. Removing said socket from box. B. Placing it on a ball. C. It splitting. A few times now. Same sets even. Unacceptable. thumbup.gif Excellent. If enough people don't buy them then they'll stop next year and spend more time on the sets (I refuse to call the playsets sets). What they NEED to do is not kill System hybrid Bionicle sets, but kill them as PLAYsets. Instead of sparse playsets, merge those system bricks onto a new titan or something. Which would sell better, some playset with cost-cutting decisions all over the place (like making everyone just repaints of 1 body type)... or a Titan covered in System to the point he looks more Gundam in nature? Think about it... which one's going to SELL? Yeah, it ain't those rat bastard playsets. Of course that would take the skill of a mocer... I don't have a reason to believe Lego's design crew even has that kind of skill to do it "right".
  22. I think he was. But to clarify, joints start out excessively tight, which after adding a ball, of course means they are then excessively loose... for they are now broken. lol
  23. Lesovikk's problems are widespread: http://www.bzpower.com/forum/index.php?sho...ic=260306&st=40 Also, I hate to say,it's not JUST lime green. The solid orange beams (Visorak were they?) also cracked... I have no idea why. Never used them, then first time I snap a ball onto it, it splits in the center! And yeah, a lime green one of mine did it too. Hmm...I really need to get on the boat with seeing about replacements... though... I thought their Connecticut office was closing? I guess someone's still there, since others are reporting still getting parts sent to them. Sad stuff... but hopefully it'll end when they exhaust their stock of these. Oh, as the link above suggests, Lesovikk's other problem is missing parts. >__<
  24. I always love it when mocers get ahold of Bellville figures. Hilarity ensues. Though truthfully... it makes me wish Lego would design us some large figures similar to Technic guys, but as useful / customizable / take-apartable as minifigs. Darn it. I love this ship. It's not perfect, but it serves it's purpose well. :D
