  1. It's been FOREVER since I fired up an NES emulator, but I'm guessing there's options for what type of file you want snapshots taken as. Of course, I'm going off experience with arcade and capcom system (kawaks) emus.
  2. How'd I miss this topic? OMG! A wild XEOKYM appears! POKEBALL, GO!
  3. Best. Episode. EVER. ENGORGED WE THRUST
  4. Well, your heart's in the right place at least. I want masks in all different colors again, not just 1 or 3. How... unfun... things have been without them.
  5. That's not how it works lol. You can definitely have a product be good one time, then entirely blow in a sequel. Like... like Ghostbusters 1 versus Ghostbusters 2. :-P See, 2001 was original because it was the first. But I'm telling you, that simply because the direction and approach to the line changed greatly in some areas does NOT mean that something clever or good has taken place. In fact, that's the problem with ALOT of franchises... clueless booberheads taking over, not "getting" the source material they're supposed to be referencing, then just choosing a scorched-earth method, whizzing on all of it and going off to do something completely different. It doesn't take skill or care to do this, it takes laziness and disrespect. Anyway, Toa figures - a little rough around the edges, but full of future potential... unfortunately the Nuva updates dropped the ball on that potential (poseable waists would've been nice). All they needed to do was make the body 2 pieces, add some elbows and take weaponry more seriously than kiddy. But no, we then got legs that were a step backwards, masks that were a step backwards, etc etc... Agreed, but then there's shows that kicked butt like Beast Wars... whose entire terrain seemed to be not too much more than lots of CGI rocks and desert. Truth be told, when I speak fondly of the MataNui Online game, I'm not even talking about the GAME! See, some kid in France made a Bionicle fansite, where he ripped and then hosted ALL the animation episodes from inside the game. I'll be the first to say gameplay was a bit repetitive and boring, but the flash animations were damn entertaining. And really, none of the movies or cheeseball CGI web content since has had any positive emotions to take from them. They might as well be advertisements for any old action figure line. Of course, that's the intention, sadly proving profitable. Indeed. Aside from one asymmetrical arm and a questionably useless throwing disc, I'd take THOSE HAPPY MEAL toys over a complete Piraka any day.
  6. Hahahaha! I COULD, but every time I heard Spirit's "Taurus"... it'd all come back to me. :-P (Good thing I didn't mentioned all the OTHER stuff they stole and tried to deny!) Oh hell. Thieves. They're thieves. TALENTED thieves, but thieves.
  7. I still like Stairway to Heaven, but after hearing the song they STOLE it from on Howard Stern's Sirius Satellite radio show, I can't hear it without a certain level of disgust. Apparently, Led Zeppelin opened for some other band who had a song that was strikingly similar, and there were eye-witness reports of one of the band members taking down notes as it was being played. (It was the band "Spirit" and the song was "Taurus"). A while later, Led Zeppelin came out with Stairway... and had the balls to not even mention the original creators in the credits. THAT didn't come until a long time after, after lawsuits were filed.
  8. Hahaha, cool. I love seeing how drastically different things get changed sometimes due to the politics of "regional alterations". Yeah, Doki Doki Panic took me awhile to find too, finally being acquired through the downloading of an every NES / Famicom game ever zipfile off a torrent site. That you are 12 and interested in such stuff is pretty neat. I'm 34 and lived through the (ANNOYING) dark ages of seeing EVERY cool title from Japan either not coming out here, or being so horridly demolished from it's original product so as to make me want to tear chunks off flesh off my face. (Good case in point, Ranma 1/2 for Super Famicom... Shampoo was turned into a clown, both Ranmas were turned into "tough dudes"... you name it. I can't even remember the name it was released here under!). Even right now, this weekend I've been searching online for all the differences I can find for Castlevania : Symphony of the Night on Playstation, as well as Gameshark codes to restore some of the things original japanese things that got ripped out for the American version. I always knew Super Mario 2 came from Doki Doki Panic, but not before there were a few months of me asking, "Why does everything look so DIFFERENT from the first one?!? These can't be the same programmers!" I didn't like it at first, not looking as "arcade" as the original, but it grew on me. I like how SM2 had a nice, calm ending during the credits. Actually made playing though the whole thing feel like I actually accomplished something important. (Hey man, sleep is sacred.)
  9. Well, if there's ammo packs, that would be 16, as they'd have a set number.
  10. Aquaraiders pad... Well, small kids can bring it to school and promote the Lego brand to all their little friends without the fear of having actual bricks confiscated, Police set.. DUDE... it's got LEGO POLICE TAPE. *wub* Manga drawing tutorial... WEABOO ALERT! Goddamit, there is NOTHING worse than non-japanese fruitloops doing how-to's on anime art! Look at those bastard children of Exo-Force they call "anime". I've seen better on the notebooks of schoolgirls smitten with Ranma or Tenchi characters. LEGO kinda' pissed on anime with their dutch-japanese (lol) hybrid art... but to tell kids it is AND teach them how to draw crappy? INEXCUSABLE! Dear sweet freaking Hades... NO.
  11. I probably won't be happy with Technic until all these vehicles get drivers. And the old Technic men won't do... they need a COMPLETE overhaul, made just as customizable as minifigs are.
  12. Oh my. Seems you've been in an accident. Let me take you to the hospital.
  13. Well, screw MocPages... my placeholder page is still there, but I can't log in to it! It sends me a redo password email, I enter everything, then it still doesn't let me in! Hell with this lol. Flickr all the way.... and uploads to brickshelf as a backup. I had a feeling mocpages would suck after some time passed.
  14. So Mutley and SirNadroj are being aped on MocPages? Eesh, I started an account there, but never did anything with it. I wonder if I even remember the password. ...better go check...
  15. And, at least at my Walmart, they sit. Good parts sources at discount though... and so very not anime looking.
  16. INDEED. When I first saw Bionicle... NO! When I first saw Lewa, I said to myself, "Oh damn... Lego went and turned those ugly Throwbot things into anime mecha. Great, another thing to collect!" But then the Nuva designs came out & crapped all over a large chunk of my hopes for the line, to which it's never recovered. And really... the awfulness of Exo-Force doesn't bring Lego any closer to anime (though props to them for the Goku minifig hair). Some argue, "Bionicle in a more anime look? OMG, you want GUNDAMS!" ...no, no I don't. But I do want sets that don't look like butt. Lego really needs some japanese character designers. BADLY.
  17. Holy crap! I'm legitimately shocked to hear how violently Halloween is being executed outside the US! Parents making threats? Stopping your door from closing? Kids doing the same?!? What the hell? lol Here in the US, we have Prankster's Night. Growing up, it was either the day before or after Halloween. All that really went on was kids soaping your car windows with something rudely humorous, egging your house from afar, and running toilet paper across the street from one tree to another. To do anymore than that might result in some angry homeowner scaring them off by brandishing a firearm lol. I'm serious... I'd hate Halloween too if it were that... barbaric here. 8-
  18. Just the interesting replies I expected, as alot here aren't in the US. Here, Halloween's been kind of poopy for the last decade, participation and decorating for it dying down greatly from what I remember as a kid. It's still a commercial holiday, but MAN have the costumes gotten alot better. In the 70's and 80's, "costumes" for kids were no more than a cheesy plastic mask with a plastic garbage bag (lol) looking thing with popular characters printed on them... most ugly. Some companies still sell them, but it's nowhere near like it used to be. There's more "construction" involved these days, as kids buy them in components.
  19. Do you? Me, I carve a pumpkin into a jack-o-lantern aaaaaand... and that's pretty much it. Oh, and a purple light has to replace any outdoor lighting, too. Ah! And paper chinese lanterns with spiders and junk printed on them. : p http://flickr.com/photos/11579617@N02/1612802887/ Why yes, it is smoking a cigarette. X-D How about you guys? Any cool tradition, decoration setups, carving pics? I'm tempted to carve some radishes sometime, just to see how hard it is (that's what the Irish used to use... it wasn't until America that they used pumpkins).
  20. Honestly, I hated the Nuva. Their limbs BLEW as bad as their masks did lol. Now a throwback to the Mata (Olda?) or whatever they're called... THAT would be awesome. Honestly, I haven't liked any of the masks as much as I did Lewa's Miru from 2001.
  21. Pfft. It goes a bit beyond just those parts or colors. I noticed the turning point to break-the-first-time-you-insert-them parts came with the Visorak. Since then... well, here we are. I have so many broken parts now that I actually have a small bin for them. It's like collecting Spawn figures all over again. (Well, ok... not THAT bad lol). Hahaha... that's a sentence industry uses whenever they mess up. It's the EXACT same line Todd Mcfarlane gave me when I called him out on Howard Stern back in the 90's. "Hey Todd, what's this caller saying about your figures always breaking.. ?" "Ooooh, oh yeah, uh, SOME of our Spawn figures were having problems... it was the fault of the manufacturer in China cooling the plastic too fast... but it's fixed now! Besides, they're not really "action" figures, more like sculptures you just pose." ...Lol, lol aaand lol. :-| In reality, they went "cheap", and they got back "cheap".
  22. EXCELLENT post, Tohst. Exactly my point. To do a tip of the hat to the originals is NOT to make guys with their name. A respectful tip of the hat is to update their look, not crap them out your megablocks in every way possible (but better poseability). Some of you are making it sound like it's somehow rocket science to jazz up an older design, like it's some monumental undertaking of some sort... which is flat-out kooky, it is. GYUUUUUUH... I hate listening to him talk sometimes. So smug. So condescending. So talky-downy. "Bringing them back" (lol) is ONE part of the TWO part package. One. Bring them back. Two. Make them recognizable (not be suckass). To fall in the middle is a halfassed job and serves only to SOLIDIFY the disgruntled fans in their statement that the line's current execution blows. Aaaanyway, removing the drama of whether they even slightly resemble who they supposedly are supposed to, as figures... well, I can't get into it. I'm not mad that there was the Metru, Piraka or Inika, for those body types, while super-crap for mocs, at least added new parts to the Lego arsenal. But man they need to go away already. I'd probably like the upcoming wave if it was the first time I was seeing those same freakin' bodies. But that's far from the case, yes? And all that silver... AGAIN. I was happy when Lego got more into weaponry, but DAMN. The sets are just a pile of blades. It looks like someone just jabbed a bunch of silverware all over them... and so sloppily in their execution... no flow of "design"... hardly any unique, individual aspects to identify with any of the characters... UGH.. ...makes my head hurt... But at least my wallet is safe from them. Maybe I'll go back to sculpting my own figures out of modeling clay again.
