It is not necessary to delete the complete entry. I still think it is a good one, only thing is that it cannot be entered for the contest. I would say keep on the good work
-
good creation, indeed it looks narrow, but isn't this because the height is a bit outproportioned ? The look alike is very good

TTCE : Japan Railway series E233 (underground version)
aawsum replied to PrinceWilliam's topic in LEGO Train Tech
That looks really nice. I like what you did with the colors. It looks really similar on a number of points of the original. I am wondering what you did with the doors, why are they different between the 2 wagons, it looks like a stud difference .... -
Number of Passenger cars a 9v train motor can pull?
aawsum replied to MillerTime's topic in LEGO Train Tech
I would also say it depends on how steep your track is. If you are going up hill, then 1 would definitely not be enough. I do not own 9v, but all my trains are motorised with 2 RC motors. The can carry 5 wagons and go up 1 brick per rail. But if you feel better with 2 engines, then use 2. This is definitely better for keeping your engines in better condition -
Tough choice I own the 7997, but this is not the station the way I would like it; The 4556 is not really looking like a station to me. The 4513 is also a bit strange and indeed the 4555 is a cargo station. Stations that I do like is Amsterdam Central, but also a more modern station like the Amsterdam zuidoost station. my assumption would be that I have to MOC them. I will have to decide which one I would like. Front Amsterdam central Overview Amsterdam zuidoost

Good to read, it will be a nice extension for bluebrick. I also worked on something, and probably not a lot of people will know about this set, because it has only been available in holland as a promotional set. GIF XML : 1590 ANWB promotional set The xml makes sure the roads connect to other roads automatically :)

A real nice look a like, very well built Good to see how you were able to built this one in minfig scale, and also fit those small guys in there. Excellent I my opinion this model has very limited SNOT, of am I mising something ....

Yep it is from the dutch guy legomannetje. He is the expert of year 70 lego.

Looking very good I like the used colors and how you created the doors. I must say i have some questions; - why only 4 windows where there is room for 5 - what did you do with the right train wheel couple, it looks like they are next to eahother, where the left couple has 1 wheel width between them

This evening i finished creating the XML files for the sets I already made GIFs for. The XML's were not that difficult to make. They are important btw to improve your layout quality. It makes it a lot easier to create a nice layout and align everything correctly. Hereby an update of what I did: Trains Accessories: GIF XML : 7996 Track double crossing RC GIF XML : 8867 RC Flex Track (Straight) GIF XML : 8867 RC Flex Track (Curved) Buildings: GIF XML : 7997 Train Station GIF XML : 10027 Train shed long version GIF XML : 10027 Train shed sidebyside version GIF XML : 10128 Railway crossing Town Buildings: GIF XML: 1966 Car repair Service GIF XML : 6382 Fire Station GIF XML : 6383 Snack Bar GIF XML : 6384 Police Station Baseplates GIF XML : Baseplate 8x16 GIF XML : Baseplate 8x32

Interesting that you cannot use PM, because as said in the helppage this is the way to contact the admins. You can find them here btw http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?...mp;CODE=leaders About that example for motorising the emerald with RC, I know this one on flickr http://www.flickr.com/photos/30992181@N03/3505483978/ but there are multiple options, i would say give it a go and type it into google

The XML is used for 2 purposes 1. To align the different tracks or roads to each other perfectly when creating a turn or whatever. 2. To make sure the parts and objects are properly aligned on the grid. Mot of the time sets have an overhang outside the baseplate they use. So the XML makes sure that the objects are nicely connected. I would suggest to try and make the GIF yourself and ask for help if you need it. Just send a PM to me or missouri, or even better, post your questions in this thread and we will answer it. Some basic tips on how I create gifs. a. I create the structure in a lego software program. I use MLCad, but others are fine as well. b. Make a snapshot of the top view of the structure c. Make sure you resize the gif an a way that it resembles the scale of 1stud = 8 pixels Just give it a try ans ask for help if you need it

Great station with a lot of details. Like said before, the green is a good touch and make it that little bit different. One small remark/question, do you use this moc with running trains ? Because I have the feeling the platform is a bit to close to the track, and also the 2 tracks are very close.
-
That looks very good. I do like the small details like the windscreen wipers. Nice entry
-
Maybe ask an admin ? Yes, definitely, there are some examples where this has been done

I am definitely not a fan of this new building, but seeing it in your layout makes me doubt my opinion. But maybe it is just your great looking layout, it is fabulous. I also see some track in the front, so maybe you could give us a good overview when your new table is ready :)

Ok, this was a challenge. I did create a flextrack, to make sure I could have my digital layout the way it would be in reality. I managed to make the flextrack straight, plus an xml. However, i also needed a curved part ofcourse. The xml for this one was the most difficult one so far, but I have the feeling I managed :) Both parts can be found here: GIF XML: 8867 RC Flex Track (Straight) GIF XML: 8867 RC Flex Track (Curved)

Next to create the XML for was the 10128 Railway crossing. This one was a bit more difficult to figure out. Normally, when creating an xml connection file for a track, you have to remember that a track is 17 studs wide because it has 16 studs + 2 connection points that are together 1 stud. For this railway crossing, I had ofcourse the same, but if you look at the gif to the right you will see that the track stopped 1 stud earlier then the building structure. So it costed me some time, but I guess I have fixed it. The XML is uploaded; GIF XML : 10128 Railway crossing{new XML}

There is this guy in Belgium who creates these rims http://users.telenet.be/Patricks-legotrein...reinbandjes.htm

Looking good :) I also worked on some XML (and at the same time tested the XML help file, which is actually looking very good :) ) Making the XML, and testing it with bluebrick gives me the opportunity to see if the GIF I create is also working OK. And so I found out that the Train shed side by side version GIF had a wrong format So my updates for now are GIF XML : 10027 Train shed long version {new XML} GIF XML : 10027 Train shed sidebyside version {updated GIF + new XML}

Interesting topic, I guess there will be a lot more .... that I cannot think of at the moment. However, the last one from the post office example ... there I do not see the resemblance But I guess I understand your point

Thanks for the tip So I did change the baseplate for the following GIFS 1966 Car repair Service 6382 Fire Station 6384 Police Station

my apologies I did send you that PM, so don't be scared. hereby a small update I created a curved flextrack part. I understand that the flextrack means that you can twist it in any curve that you want, but this give at least me the opportunity to put it in my layout if I need just a few studs. GIF XML: 8867 RC Flex Track (Curved)

Small update from my layout. Just to see where the main spots will be.
