Apparently these will be available in Australia, which is pretty neat as usually there are no LEGO-related perks of being in Australia, only LEGO-negatives vs many other parts of the world. Still, the price tags are hefty so I'll probably choose just one, and I'm leaning towards the Dragon Dance because it looks very displayable and also has more parts in colours currently exclusive to that set. The dinner scene is tempting though, mainly for all the food prints. I feel for those who don't even have a choice since these won't be available in their markets, given that in Australia we just underwent that with the Bricktober sets which don't appear to ever be surfacing here.

Cue 25 pages of wishlists, speculation, and random conversation before some real rumours/details surface I'll take this opportunity to remind anyone looking in this topic that there are to be no spoilers for Crimes of Grindelwald until at least a few weeks after it has opened everywhere in the world. Thank you.

Fun with the Bat-cessories from 76112 App-Controlled Batmobile
Clone OPatra replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
Ah, I had completely forgotten about those, thanks! Actually I don't think I ever knew that those came as one accessory pack, since I never got any of the sets that they came in. I only ever Bricklinked some of the guns. -
Marvel Superheroes 2019 - Rumours, Speculation & Discussion
Clone OPatra replied to Anonknee Muss's topic in LEGO Licensed
OK STOP - This got heated again for no reason. Enough with the meme posting now. I'll lock this thread down for a bit if I have to, which would be a dang shame as there's more real content to discuss in the Marvel line than there is in any other Licensed line at the moment. Thank you to everyone who is having a nice, normal civil discussion. It sucks when people sometimes come in and potentially spoil that. -

Marvel Superheroes 2019 - Rumours, Speculation & Discussion
Clone OPatra replied to Anonknee Muss's topic in LEGO Licensed
What the actual heck? I'm disappointed seeing language like this from you. Let this be a public warning that we don't tolerate this sort of thing on Eurobricks from anyone, new member and established member alike. This is not a platform just for praise of LEGO sets. It's A-OK to criticise sets and designs. Sometimes perhaps what somebody doesn't like about a design is the fault of the designer, and maybe other times it's more the fault of the brief they were given. Just because the LEGO designer job is highly competitive doesn't mean that the people who get the job are beyond human and incapable of making poor design choices from time to time. Similarly the people who approve the designs also surely make poor choices sometimes. Bottom line: everyone must post respectfully, whether in their opinions about sets or their responses to other people. -
Jurassic World 2019 - Rumours, Speculation & Discussion
Clone OPatra replied to Anonknee Muss's topic in LEGO Licensed
We kind of did, across the two sets in the original JP3 line. There was a set that came with a plane, and another with raptors. So there you have it! -
Thanks for the review Fangy! It's nice to know that LEGO went the sensible route of including five full sets per box. Personally I like this series for what it is, and have never been into fully collecting anything, so it doesn't bother me that it's impossible to get the ones you want by feel. The impossibility of feeling them makes this series the "true" experience of blind bags for kids, who can get some and trade with friends. As I had no interest in getting many of these, I just felt a couple to be sure that I was going to get different ones (one with a slope and one with a tail), and was pleased with the dino suit and queasy kitties that I got. Ultimately these are super cute little mementos that make me smile when I see them, and I think I would've felt that way no matter which ones I got. I do want the camo Kitty as well, but I'm not going to try my luck and risk my money. I suppose they are a little pricey, but they have lots of exclusive prints and re-coloured parts, so they can't be compared to other LEGO items purely by how many pieces they contain. Regular CMF seem a bit pricey at this point too. Still, I do wonder if these will be a success for LEGO, and if we'll see another series like them. They came out at the same time as the Harry Potter CMF, and while the Harry Potter ones flew away like crazy (though stores here in Sydney, Aus have now got second batches in, which haven't disappeared quite as quickly), the Unikitty Series is still just largely sitting around. That's obviously just one data point, but it's quite conspicuous that they haven't been so popular around here. If they ever go on deep discount, I'd snatch up more at a dollar or two a piece.

[MOC/MOD] TLBM Joker Manor with Batcave
Clone OPatra replied to Beardybricks's topic in LEGO Licensed
Wow, that's lovely!! Just the grounds around the Manor alone really add a great effect to it, but then the whole hill puts it on a pedestal. Great work. Just a small detail I especially like is the Batman statue - great use of those grey and gunmetal parts. -
DC Superheroes 2019 - Rumours, Speculation & Discussion
Clone OPatra replied to Anonknee Muss's topic in LEGO Licensed
This discussion about a Bat Train is awfully fun, but it really has nothing to do with this topic - so let's get back to the actual topic please? And if there's nothing to discuss, we can return to this topic when there is. -
Here's our old ongoing topic: Rumour Mill. Feel free to continue in there.

I liked the old Basilisk as a LEGO creature and as a representation of a big snake, but it wasn't very effective at looking like the Basilisk depicted in the film. It had the same building style as most of the big creatures from that period like the dinos, elephants, a couple of Star Wars big animals, etc. and I liked it for that reason. Then again nothing about the Harry Potter sets from that era was very accurate to the films. Even being innaccurate, it was still worlds better than the new Basilisk in the Great Hall set.

The rat was already released in the city line, but it could've been developed for HP. Don't forget the Niffler and Thestral moulds as well!

I'm just going to say here that we do take the posting of false information as real seriously, and don't tolerate it. It's not my aim to clamp down on information altogether, and I fully understand that people can't reveal their sources. We have a bunch of members who have built up their reputations over time and are reliable. But inevitably there are others who don't actually know anything and just want a bit of the spotlight. When it becomes obvious, those people aren't around here for long. Bottom-line: if you don't ACTUALLY know anything and can't verify anything, don't post it.

I'd say that's considerably different - the accessory piece there is a collectible for use with Thanos. It would be more like if the original Sanctum Santorum set had come with Doctor Strange with the print on his torso and a 1x1 round with the Eye of Aggamoto printed on it. Could it happen? Yes. But, it sounds very fishy.

That Hagrid's Hut wishful thinking description sounds like great wishful thinking! I too would love to get all of those things! It really lost me at Hermione with a printed Time Turner on her torso and a Time Turner piece. Good stuff.

Everyone stop with the name-calling and nastiness. We're talking about some LEGO sets for crying out loud. All opinions are perfectly legitimate, and it's clear when someone is voicing an opinion. We don't need to qualify every single line with "I think, I think, I think" for others to know that it's an opinion. What's so wrong with disliking a set, that others swoop in as if they've been personally insulted? I share a lot of @LegoSims20's sentiments about the micro-scale Hogwarts set. LEGO has made a choice as to what to release as the big UCS, and it's fine to be annoyed if you don't like that choice and the outcome. On the other hand it's fine to weigh in with healthy debate too and share an opposing viewpoint - but instead of that some people seem to take one person's opinion as a personal attack and therefore spew personal attacks back. Sadly those people have ruined it for everyone and I'm going to lock this topic for a bit for everyone to go away and cool off.

While I haven't seen the set yet in the brick so I know my.opinion isn't fully informed, I share this sentiment. It doesn't look big or impressive enough to me from the photos once I take note of the cheese slopes. I find the scale and choices weird too, and I don't think the idea to make it doll-house style scaled to microfigs has been very successful. They've gone for accurate proportions on the outside, but the interior is still completely out of scale because the real castle is of course gigantic. Not only that, but as I've seen highlighted in a variety or reviews even the interior scenes don't have a consistent scale because you have these minibuilds that are preposterously huge next to the microfigs and also stickers which are technically scaled to microfigs. Of course this isn't the first time LEGO has done this mix - they hid a minifig scale scene in the Super Star Destroyer and the microfig room in the Helicarrier, but those sets still had fully formed exteriors. This one is missing huge portions of the castle and lots of parts have been diverted to the whacky out-of-scale interior. Given that the interior isn't scaled properly anyway, I think they should've either done full minifig-size little scenes, or committed to it being a totally Architecture-style set that was correct and enclosed from all angles. But anyway, I don't buy sets this large/expensive anyhow, so what am I one about? Great review Veebs!

HEY! Nemo has already politely requested that everybody chill. While I was happy for people to discuss the Diagon Alley possibility for a bit, in the absence of anything else substantive to discuss besides that fake-ish-sounding set list, if it means people are getting too heated and impolite to one another then we will shut this discussion down. So, before you jump on that keyboard, please consider what you want to write, and if somebody is bothering you then use the Report button, as many have done. Like I've said before and I'll say again: it's ok for a thread to go quiet for a while too. We don't have to keep one alive for the sake of keeping it alive. If there's nothing more to be said, say nothing.

Honestly I wouldn't be surprised if these rumours are true, and I wouldn't be surprised if they're not true. If you have me the list of sets that we have already gotten a year ago, I would've said those are too good to be true as well! Like others have noted, the absence of Lockhart and Ginny (and Lucius Malfoy for that matter) from the lineup or CMF is quite conspicuous. Lucius could fit into the rumours as one of the death eaters in Diagon Alley, and then we'd have those three covered. Then again, things don't always make sense or line up neatly when it comes to LEGO's decisions.

Thanks everyone who reported the off-topic posting in this thread There are plenty of places on EB to ask what's up with a thread being locked (Forum Information and Help, for instance) that don't involve butting into and derailing a different theme discussion thread. While there isn't much to go on with the Diagon Alley, because like I said it could just be a MOC or sketch build for a model that isn't going to happen, seeing both a Diagon Alley and Ollivander fig is conspicuously coincidental. Let the speculative discussion continue!

LEGO Star Wars 2018 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!
Clone OPatra replied to MKJoshA's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I haven't bought any new LEGO Star Wars in ages at this point (my last purchase might have been the awesome newer Tydirium once it was on a discount a couple of years after release), but I'm very intrigued to see those Juniors sets. Most vehicles in Juniors sets have been stubby messes almost like Microfighters but with less style, but it's interesting that LEGO is finally finding a way to offer the classic ships at more reasonable price points once again, now that the System-scale version have climbed so high. The only X-Wing and Tie Fighter I have are the '99 and '01 versions when the System sets were the same prices as the Juniors ones on that list are rumored to be! -
Woah, good spotting! The tradition of LEGO spoiling future releases in the D2C videos continues However I wouldn't take this as confirmation of anything just yet. The designers make sketch models all the time for sets that never see the light of day.

I remember an interview with Filoni at one stage where he says that, given that dialogue, they were careful to make sure that Anakin and Grevious never meet in the CG Clone Wars, but there's no explicit dialogue to say that Obi-Wan and Grevious have never met. I thought it was a bit of a stretch. The frequency with which Obi-Wan and Anakin meet Dooku in the show also undercuts their matchup with him at the beginning of Episode III where it really seems like they haven't met since Episode II.
-
Well the Clone Wars show was all driven by Lucas even if Filoni was technically the one overseeing it, so I wouldn't really say it was Filoni needing him. In fact Grevious' second ever appearance in TV/Film media is Episode III, where he has already become a bit of a buffooning, barely intimidating, comic relief character against what he was in the 2003 show. It's clear that's what Lucas himself decided he should be, for whatever reason. Yes they explained the reason for his cough in the series, but a Droid general with a hunchback and a cough? Come on... From first seeing the Clone Wars kickoff "movie" in theatres, I've always felt that absolutely everything in the show in regards to characterisation was based on the opening sequence of Episode III. Obi-Wan and Anakin are quippy and happy, droids are now stupid and talk a lot, etc. The Battle Droids might have already said Roger Roger in a dumb voice since Episode I, but in I and II they were still intimidating weapon machines. Even though Lucas was the brains behind Clone Wars, I felt he was missing the point because even within that opening sequence of Episode III you don't get the sense that Obi and Anakin are ALWAYS like that. People have moods, and in those moments they felt a bit confident and had good rapport, but you can tell that they're still serious people who have other emotions and don't always get on so well. Later seasons of the Clone Wars rectified the problems a bit and the show got more serious and ended up adding a lot to the characters, but it got off to a rough start for sure with only a few good episodes here and there.
