Wizarding World 2022 - Rumors & Discussion
Clone OPatra replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
That's standard for microfigures. Pretty sure it was the same for Ant-Man and Jack from the Ideas Pop-Up storybook. The printing on mini Mad-Eye looks quite rough though. The printing on Mad-Eye's face and both of Trelawney's looks a bit cartoonier in style than their previous ones. I get it for Trelawney because her glasses do magnify her eyes so much, but I'm happy with my CMF ones personally. -

Is the truck and raptor set the rumoured 20€ set or 30€ set? No worries. You're working over time! -

Ok thanks. That's all I wanted to know without trying to read between the lines. I have removed the image from here so that we comply. -

Maybe just me but that poacher in the new Jurassic World sets that have just leaked(?) looks perfect for a custom snatcher. And it even includes Hermione! -

You said literally that already. With the implication being what? It's fake? It's not to be shared? What? -

What do you mean? They are leaks that we need to delete, or you don't think the picture is legitimate at all? -

It looks like one of those rubber chickens, but fun. The plane looks like a copy paste of any number of LEGO planes, with colours changed. -

@Alex THELEGOFAN how did you order Nya's messy hair with headband? Calling in? I haven't seen that one available to buy online. Excellent haul and survey of all the great new minifigures! -
LEGO Star Wars 2022 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!

How do we dispel this myth!? They didn't face legal trouble. They didn't pull the set early. One advocacy group in one country raised an absurd stink and worldwide media picked it up because that's what media does for clicks. Now it's cemented in the minds even of LEGO fans that this was true trouble for LEGO when it wasn't. I noticed that, though. They probably didn't show it closed up because it's ugly, kind of like they didn't show the Polyjuice Potion Bathroom exterior in any official material because it's ugly. -

I'll admit I'm trying to keep up with the information and add it to the first posts regularly this year, but I'm a bit lost. If anyone who has a better grasp of it (and DC if there's any DC info) has capacity to shoot me a PM with whatever the first post is missing or getting wrong, please do! -
LEGO Videogame Tie-Ins - Rumors & Discussion
Clone OPatra replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
At one point this thread was speculating about more Overwatch sets without knowing if any were going to eventuate. Then it became about the one new Overwatch set we did know about, but as that's been delayed, how much is there to discuss. It doesn't seem like Overwatch will continue as its own theme anyway. Then people started discussing the rumours of the Tallneck set in here along with the rumours about a LEGO Games theme with one-off videogame sets. For the sake of a whole page of the Licensed forum not being taken up with discussion topics for themes with one or zero sets, I thought it was a pretty natural fit to rebrand this topic as the Videogame Tie-In topic. Discussion of these sets naturally falls under one umbrella, similar to disparate Disney property sets and lines that also fall under one umbrella without the need to clutter the forum with a topic for Mickey and a topic for Lightyear and a topic for Disney Princesses. Just an example. -

It's only ironic if you consider LEGO to have one overarching standard that applies to all themes in the same way, which I think is clearly not the case. Different themes have different teams and different target audiences. The Harry Potter team seems most interested at this stage in capturing the magic and iconography of the earlier Harry Potter films and stories. Those films do objectively have more moments focused on the awe of magic and perhaps more iconic images like seeing Diagon Alley and hero moments with Fawkes and Hedwig that have been turned into their own display models. They didn't say Deathly Hallows is too dark and mature by the standards of company policy, but rather for what the team looks at to make for this particular theme. Star Wars is quite different and skews a little older overall right now, and that team also clearly wants to produce relevant sets for the new Star Wars media, with whatever Lucasfilm will give them. Hasbro is coming out with a model of the exact same Bib's Palace scene, making it pretty obvious to me that that scene was something Lucasfilm would share enough of with the toy companies for them to be able to produce a toy out of. I think you are misinterpreting the comment too far in the opposite direction. Marcus said never say never, but at the same time they find more to make in the earlier movies. It was clear cut and it was about Deathly Hallows being darker and less magical. Short of a press release on the subject, his comment was a good and clear indication of the team's thought process and direction. Marcus isn't the team lead any more though, but I don't know how much that will change things. -

But the N1 is from a live action show, which lights the Twittersphere on fire every week, while the Mandalorian Fighter is from an animated show, which is popular but not to the same degree. So basically LEGO can get the money and therefore went for it. -

I have no idea what it is, but I know a cool hair piece when I see one! -
Yep. They do look pretty bad but I stand by thinking there are some good aspects: https://www.bricklink.com/catalogList.asp?catType=S&catString=516.61

Personally I saw no redeeming qualities of the Jack Stone sets (which is a normal, popular opinion), but I did like aspects of the 4+ Pirates sets. Fantastic accessories in cool colours, for instance. Obviously they were a let down for fans waiting for the resurgence of a true pirates line, but they had cool stuff going for them.

You can make this argument about anything and it holds no water. Nothing HAS to be told the way it is told if that way is illogical and detracts from the narrative, because it could've been written much better instead. If your story is so shoddy that you have to take a complete break from your main characters and story for two out of seven episodes, maybe write your story a different way. You could say the same thing about Rise of Skywalker: "well it had to be told like that because of course Rey, Poe and Finn had to go to the place to get the thing that tells them to go to the other place to get the next thing which sends them to the next place to learn about the next thing". OR spend a bit longer on the script and don't do that. Book of Boba Fett makes Solo look like a Criterion Classic. Solo had great propulsive action and set pieces, real stakes at times, characters and motivations that made good clear sense, and fantastic Star Wars world building. And besides Solo himself, it didn't feel the need to connect into everything else or bring in Jedi for corporate synergy. Plus Solo got a whole raft of excellent LEGO sets. Haven't seen anyone else mention, but is JB Spielwaren teasing a Rancor set? They have a countdown on their story to New Star Wars sets, with a quote about a Rancor. I guess we'll find out in 18 hours. -

It's not a minifigure of Buzz. It's one of the sentry robot things that form part of Zurg's army. It's blurry but it looks nicely detailed all around. -

Welp. Of course the only other currently known Book of Boba Fett is from the non Boba Fett episodes. I'm surprised last year's ships were, for the most part, so reasonably priced. -
I literally just posted telling you to not continue that discussion. Stop now or private chats it is.

LEGO Star Wars 2022 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!

I think the figure and hair are totally fine, but it's still a somewhat jerk move of LEGO that I thought they were moving past. I have no issue with exclusive figures that make sense (like of course there has been no other set for Moff Gideon thus far, for example), but doing kind of a full version of a figure in one set and a "less than" version in another is annoying. Especially annoying too since LEGO has been including both helmets and hairpieces in a bunch of sets recently. Anyway, I'll shut up about it now. Personally since I have no affinity for the show nor the Jabba's Palace holdover characters, I might not buy this anyway, but at the same time it's something we're pretty much guaranteed never to get again in this form and I do like what's included. If it had included Fennec's very cool helmet as well, that would've been another notch in the pros category for me. -
Let's stick to the somewhat LEGO-related discussion and move away from / leave out the strictly world-politics part. Thanks!

It might also become available in the new Pick A Brick combined with Brick&Pieces, if that hasn't rolled out yet in your region, but no guarantees either.

It is looking good in the full product images. I'm still bummed that it doesn't include Fennec's helmet (which is shown right there in the box art!), but what the set does include is quite nice. -

Not quite. I have a third order In Warehouse placed on Feb 9, and I didn't get an email about that one. @BrickMatit I had the exact same thoughts. "We're trying to send them in 5-6 weeks"... which is exactly what the website says when you order, and it hasn't even been 5-6 weeks. Good intention with the emails I guess, but bad execution.
