That's a technic gearbox, not a lightbrick. And I think that is to make the cannon tilt up and down by turning the front gear, as you say WK.

Unless I missed something before, this is the first time I've noticed that the Droid turret thing has one of those firing rockets in it. It's integrated very nicely though. This set seems very similar in style to the Seperatist Spider Droid in that it has an exclusive fig, a bunch of crappy Droids and a big grey walker. At least this time the walker actually looks nice, and there's a BARC as well. Overall, not a bad set, though it still might be more economical to just BL Luminara and Rex, now that his price will likely come down.

I take any opportunity to use the awful Padme fig. Really the only awful thing about it is the face, but that's still reason enough why we deserve a new one already!

There were Mickey sets in 2000, but they were arguably semi-Fabuland style. Perhaps for that reason, they didn't do so well. Maybe LEGO will someday make normal minifig-size Mickey sets, but I wouldn't count on it. Mickey doesn't rally make for such an exciting theme.

Another for the Clone Wars style fig haters.

Some great wordplay, Rufus! (And stellar pic, as always). Well, I missed a day, but what can you do?

More Clone mayhem!

I have two bootleg Pirate sets that I bought because I didn't read the finer print on Ebay (or was an idiot, however you want to see it). Anyway, the minifigures are really awful; some have heads that don't look remotely close to the thing that they are "cloning." The brick quality was pretty low as well, and I wouldn't want to mix it with real LEGO anyway. As mentioned, the best thing about them are the variant color weapons: chromed cutlasses, and brown Western-style rifles as opposed to LEGO's pirate muskets. Besides for that stuff, it would really be better to skip.

I don't think so. It looks tan to me, and also a pilot does not make sense for the large gun. Pilots are used for ships, not weaponry. By the way, KimT, in the first post you have the US price for the T6 as 79.99, but I believe it is supposed to be 59.99.

On the contrary, I neither think that his pics are too dark nor that Jones should be in focus. Solscud's pictures are not bursting with light, but they are certainly very clear and visible. Too dark to me would mean actually being unable to tell what is going on. Also, perhaps I'm just a sucker for selective focus, but Jones being out of focus adds to the picture in that it highlights the staff to a greater extent. If he was in focus as well the shot would not have the same amount of intrigue.

In February will come actual pictures of the summer sets from Toy Fair, minus a few exclusives, usually.

Star Wars: The Clone Wars: season 3 discussion
Clone OPatra replied to Corvus's topic in Culture & Multimedia
There is a deeplinked Facebook image. What is so hard about that? Right click (or control click, if on a Mac) on the image, click copy image location, and then use the normal deeplinking image button. Also, do not apologize if an image is too large. If it's too large, don't post it! Or at least resize it first, and then post it. Apologizing is not helpful to the people whose computers implode because they are trying to load large images. -
Hey, no problem Izzy! This thread isn't just about me, it's about Star Wars related humor pics! My one suggestion to you would be to choose a darker font, as that white is pretty difficult to see on the bright blue background. And here's my entry for today:

One from the OT side of things:

And it also belongs in the YouTube thread. Do not start threads for YouTube videos, that's what the single one is for.

Another day, another comic. As promised!

Please guys, don't take this discussion in the business decision direction. There have been other discussions that went this way in the past, and they never end up in a pretty place. Truly, unless anyone is themselves a LEGO employee, don't speculate on the companies business decisions. Anyhow, as to the gun styles, I welcome the variety. It really doesn't bother me in the slightest that Stormies, Seppies, Rebels, Clones and everybody else uses the same weapons; it's supposed to be a cartoony toy, not a detailed action figure. If LEGO started making detailed and specific weapons I bet a lot of people would cry 'Megabloks!' really fast, just as some did over the Clone Wars GG, and even decried the new Boba as too detailed. But I guess it's never a win-win. Myself, I like having the sniper-rifles, short blasters, Clone Commander blasters, and now these new small ones with scopes. The more sets they come means the more they are available, and I don't know about you, but I'd rather have a bunch of them than only being able to find them in one or two sets.

Then you will like some of the next ones I have in the works. Although I love the Clone Wars style figures myself, the humans especially, they are extremely easy to make fun of due to their outlandish style. Thanks everyone for your words of encouragement. I will try to post a new comic daily, but I can't make any promises after four days from now I'll try my best to keep it going, though…

"We shall double our efforts milord" - given to me by the Dark Lord of Denmark himself (KimT) due to my restarting of my more-than-year-old Star Wars funnies topic.

Yes, it's been over a year since I started this thread, but humor never dies! And I've got new content. Enjoy!

TRU Ninjago release event
Clone OPatra replied to Solscud007's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Hmm... so in that picture the sword is the octagonal-hilt style, even though on the poster in the first post it is square. Can anybody else who went to the event and got a sword holder say if they got square or octagonal hilts? -
Well, unfortunately Bricklink doesn't have any for sale. Perhaps if you check there regularly, a sticker sheet will pop up. I'm not sure how likely that is, though. Otherwise, try searching ebay, or the internet for a full size scan. One might exist somewhere.

Yes, you can. Anything that isn't the Castle is fine.

It probably just means 'Venator,' which basically is a Star Destroyer anyway, just in an earlier version. -
LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 4 discussion
Clone OPatra replied to legokuate's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Why can't you pick and choose at Borders? I could just fine at mine. Even at $4, which is a bit high for a single figure with one accessory or two, to my mind it's still alright to get those one or two figures that I especially want for whatever reason. If I wanted all 16 or more, I wouldn't be happy paying such a markup. By the way, does anyone have experience buying these at LEGO stores? Do LEGO employees usually mind if you are using a "cheat sheet" or not?
