So apparently, this guys gets all the Anime-related, kickass mechs this year, eh? Fag.
-
Not to worry, I got your back on BZP. They're just so ignorant to the truth that, until they see a picture, they won't believe crap. Man, we always get the low res pictures first. I want to see this guy!
-
So if this is Toa Maxilos, and we've seen the Titan Maxilos... what happened there, huh? He can't have been transformed, unless it was by the Organic Mutagen in the waters of the Pit. Makes less sense than two monkeys duc-taped together.

BIONICLE: Rewritten
Darkness Falls replied to Lord Admiral Helden Ravensdorn's topic in LEGO Action Figures
No offense, but I'd reveal information slowly about the storyline, or at least in some kind of timeline form. Organize it with some kind of text-colored form, maybe? You've got a lot of info here, but perhaps dedicate one post to characters only, because the info all together seems overwhelming. You've got an interesting story here, and you haven't conformed to any of the original storyline, which is good, but it also alienates the readers from the characters. If you came in here expecting Bionicle, you're getting a whole new take upon the world. "Rewritten" is a good choice of words. -
I got that, the 01-03 storyline was the only one I paid attention to. But what's with the new appearance of the Bahrag?

Summer 2007 Bionicle set names!
Darkness Falls replied to Zaktan of the Shadows's topic in LEGO Action Figures
Actually, have you seen the recent two-set-combiner? (Pit War Turtle or something) It's actually very impressive. I agree, The 2006 sets were clrealy action figures, right down to the light-up swords. This year at least we have SOME MORE UNIQUE building ideas. -
Wait, why? And why do something that stupid just to get a couple masks back? (considering that's their purpose) Man, the storyline just gets weirder and weirder. How do they expect to get through the gate to Karzahni's realm, too?

Summer 2007 Bionicle set names!
Darkness Falls replied to Zaktan of the Shadows's topic in LEGO Action Figures
Wait, is it my fault you don't come on here? SORRY! I'm pretty sure it isn't, but just in case. However, I believe he means "anything" as in Greg's storylines, or the Piraka's grinning faces, or the non-violence policy being thrown out the window. Bones doesn't seem to argue against those points. -
Summer 2007 Bionicle set names!
Darkness Falls replied to Zaktan of the Shadows's topic in LEGO Action Figures
Yes. Apparently, they've never heard of some of those techniques. The point of canister sets is to provide pieces for kids and to make it look good in the process. They use a minimum amount of pieces to portray a powerful being. The Titans are specifically made to look hella awesome. With Titans, you have the ability to make a being that is bigger and unique, while the Canisters will usually bring one new body build to the table and that's it. See, when someone says, "man, the Piraka calves are cool. I wish I could have them in red, though..." They can buy Hakann. They're really a part source more than anything. Now, with the Barraki, they had to switch things around. They made six different sets, and yet each of them possessed a past element of some sort. Behold the power of getting new sets with new parts, but also obtaining old designs and pieces. The Barraki are jems for part hounds, but in structure, some of them lack and/or use repetitice themes. Too true... too true. Bones takes it upon himself to smash the competition, so not a lot of people are keen to debate. -
8921 Pic Review: "Pridak", 8916 Takadox 8920 Ehlek
Darkness Falls replied to JINZONINGEN73's topic in LEGO Action Figures
Are you kidding? I got an extra spine with my Ehlek. Hey, now all my other Bionicle stuff can pretend they're Zaktan. Takadox. Yummy. -
Also because Bionicle had to whip out their gayest promotion yet: Save the Band. I thought the music was good. At least they played up the mysterious sounds, dreamy atmosphere, etc. like in 2001. Very good. If they make more in this style, then I'm set for the year. Screw the books.

Summer 2007 Bionicle set names!
Darkness Falls replied to Zaktan of the Shadows's topic in LEGO Action Figures
Trust me, I totally feel where you're coming from. I was amazed at Bionicle when I first laid eyes on Tahu and Onua, and in the discount bin, no less. I thought Throwbots had gone freaky. Then I popped in that little disk and the Legend began. But if you want that feeling, you shouldn't get your hopes up. Every time something begins, it will be a let down henceforth. Transformers: people don't feel the toys are modern vehicles anymore. Avatar: Many say that the first season set up the basis of a great story, but now it's flat. Bionicle is no different. However, all sets from the Mata-nui saga were great, and no matter how clone-esque, they expressed important storyline significance. If we didn't have half the storyline ruined for us in the first five weeks of the year, perhaps these years would be better. Still, if you want a storyline you like, make one up. They are role-play sets, after all. Another thing I'm displeased with is the setting change. On the commercials, they're not even fighting in a good environment anymore. Ooooo, a giant black room with mechanics in it. A chain-link fence? What were they thinking? That's what I like about the new Barraki trailer. Underwater, and a great shrine made of stone? I got an '01 feeling from that. I enjoyed 2001 because of the huge statues of Toa heads, the mysterious landscapes, caves... that whole shadow in the background. The BionicleStory video was impressive, mysterious. It reminds me of the old days. I'll wait and see. -

I agree with everything Jinzo said. But seriously, I can't wait to get my hands on those Gatling Guns. The Zamor Launchers never really impressed me, so I made a Zamor Bazooka (which actually fires!) instead. While these are cool, I can't wait to make ridiculous weapons out of them as well. -
Quoted for absolute stupidity. I thought most of the SM2 Sets were good.

Ah, then I'm a LOSER UNTRUE FAN, with a hint of TRUE UBER LOYAL FAN... just in the sense that I'm ready to give the sets a try. -
Summer 2007 Bionicle set names!
Darkness Falls replied to Zaktan of the Shadows's topic in LEGO Action Figures
I don't think the Mahri are bad, and we've seen this technique before. Toa Olda-Toa Nuva? I remember peeing my pants when I saw the Nuva, and I scooped up all six. It's partly the look that makes a Set good as well. You might say "The Mahri are weak because they're the same sets as the Inika" but, whether you like it or not, they aren't. I think, by look, the Mahri are far different than the Inika, and they also have different pieces. So Jaller Mahri has some of the same pieces as Jaller Inika, but he doesn't remind me of Jaller Inika in any way. Plus, Hewkii looks like a whole different character! How can you say that's a rehash? Wait, what's the point you're trying to make? That, upon picture release, there is a small amount of "UBER TRUE LOYAL FANS," but on release, they swell to a hundred times their size? I know that you think the Inika sucked. I also guess I could be labelled as a "UBER TRUE LOYAL FAN," but the question I want to know is: What do you think of the Mahri? -
Summer 2007 Bionicle set names!
Darkness Falls replied to Zaktan of the Shadows's topic in LEGO Action Figures
You said that. They were much better received by the... oh, 200,000 members of BZPower, plus those who bought them. TLC is going the wrong way with some of these sets, but others are brilliant. These Titans are fantastic, but the rehash of the Inika is weak. Some, however, look completely different. Why is Hewkii black and yellow? Unless that black changes to gunmetal gray, eff that. -

Summer 2007 Bionicle set names!

That's because Zamor suck. This baby's pistol whip could rip a guy's head off. Then their strategy is working. These guys are supposed to look aquatic. They appear pretty spiffy to me. Many people would have to argue that the Ice sets look brilliant. The Toa-olda foot as a torso actuall looks very nice, in my opinion. Hey, at least it isn't another Piraka torso. Like Zane said, the pic is blurry, so wait for a cleaner one to make the judgment. This, I have to agree with. While I believe the canister sets are always different and unique, the Titans are always what I look forward to. I got that exact vibe, too. But the set does look fantastic! I like that Ehlek spine technique. I might get that guy. He'd better tear apart some matoran. Or GregF. Actually, compare Dume's mask side-by-side with Hydraxon's and you'll find quite a lot of differences. They don't look very much alike. Maxilos and Spinax are definitely a shock to me. The colors remind me of 2003 Makuta! The Ignika used as a shoulder pad! Spinax looks like he could crush Ehlek! Maxilos is my new Makuta. I was brave last year and bought myself a playset, and I thought is was a complete waste. This year, while everything looks impressive, I'll be passing. While submarines are possible in the Bionicle universe, (considering there were Vahki transports on Metru-nui, which also functioned in water) these don't seem very Bionicle in spirit. Anyway, I'll definitely get Jaller Mahri, just because he looks like he could kick the crap out of Jaller Inika. All the Mahri look interesting in their own way, so I'll probably get another. They seem to possess their original colors, too... Matoro has a blue mask, Jaller: yellow, Kongu: Teal, and Hahli: Blue. The same cannot be said about Naparu and Hewkii, though. I also want to purchase my first thirty-dollar Titan this year, too... Maxilos and Spinax. They blew me away. Gadunka, perhaps, as well. If you don't like the "collectibles," take them off. Seriously, that's what I do with my Piraka, who are going to have a hard time dealing with these Mahri, BTW. Continue, 2007. -

Yeah, that does look like a Zamor clip... sure that's even a Mahri? Man, I want pics of these guys badly. -
Wow. Actually, a pretty cool picture. I like it.

Or perhaps, a form that isn't hollow and doesn't have a brick-made Robot head on the front? Sentai tower comes to mind.

Gadunka, while sounding cool, still sounds like a cartoon effect. I want pictures. BZP is so ghey with their secrecy, though... "You can't post pics on Brickshelf", "You can't PM pics to other members!" Bleh. -

Greg has confirmed that fact that Maxilos and Spinax are not a Rider and Steed set.
