*Awkward silence* ...Anyone still care about the '07 storyline? Sets? *echo*
-
I HEARD that it was going to be one of the summer sets. Since I don't think they'll make a canister set of jailers, I thought it would be a Titan.
-
I must admit, the leg design is pretty shnazzy. In reference to the sword, though... It is LONG, I agree... but the blade looks very thin. I don't know, it doesn't look right to me... I did not mean "small" in that sense, I suppose I should have specified. However, I did NOT notice the lower torso design. It is complex, but very plain from the front. Still, placing a dark red flat 2x2 plate on there would have caused a similar look to the upper torso, so I can see why you didn't add one. The lower torso looked very familiar, though, which is why I didn't comment on it before. Terribly sorry! And yes, I WILL go up to that Musketeer!

I'd guess so. So... a Jailer will be one of the 2007 Titans, eh? And he's dead, too...
-
Hey, another humanoid. Another humanoid. The sword, though very nice, is a little... LITTLE... overused as a concept. A little small, too. Actually, there's not much new here, except more system than usual. Very nice job. The red works excellently with the white, a huge contrast. So... good job?

Tis' the Blood, eh?

You have to realize, Bionicle has always been about using the same pieces for different purposes. But lately... Well, I saw this and I was blown away. True, the Moc in its whole isn't the best, but that face... THAT is Innovative Building. http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/butanox/OKINA/p5221115.jpg ...I'll post some more pics for Innovative Building later...

Care to metaphorically crap on Greg some more? Okay, go right ahead. Personally, I've given up on the Bionicle Storyline. You can make a storyline that suits you perfectly if you never read a bit of info on the story. It's not that I HATE Greg because of what he's doing, I just don't like what he's doing. It seems he has this lovely BACK story for the universe, but every year he has to create something new. A guy runs out sooner or later. Basically, 2006, to me, seemed like a rehash of the Mask of Life storyline. I know it sounds stupid, but come on: Six pure evil creatures trying to get a Mask of extreme power? Seventh Figure has the mask? Underground lair? And the Mask of Life pretty much owns the Mask of Light, power-wise. I think Greg was trying to outdo the story before... But enough of that, seriously... let's get back on topic, please?

That's basically what Bionicle has become: Power Rangers. Every year, there's another group of six different-colored heroes that take on some baddies... Personally, I'm quite done with the storyline. When I first heard about the Piraka and saw the pics, I was like, "Aw, sweet! These corrupted heroes are actually trying to steal a all-powerful mask... AWESOME!" And since Greg had stated this storyline arc would be more like the '01-'03, I geared up for some Toa-esque creatures with slightly Makuta-like morals. That's not what I got. BAM! Toa Nuva: OWNED. Piraka: Crazy, power-mad killing machines driven to cruelty for what they need. Karzahni: CRAZY, because Greg wanted him to be. SEVENTH PIRAKA: Why not? It seems Takanuva. Toa Inika: REHASH! I wasn't too pleased, as you can see. You see, Greg invents these wonderful villains and neutral charcters, but he gives us these stereotypical heroes. NOT FUN! But when I heard 2007 was going to have the origin of the Krana... wait, does this sound like deja vu? So, long story short... Greg makes this world lousy. Happy? Good. You've gotten it off your chests, so that's it. See, I remember back in the day when you popped in that little minidisk, and the shadowy bionicle theme would play... you'd type in the mask code, and then... CGI video rocked your world for thirty seconds. Whatever happened to them...? That was what made me love Bionicle. That guy's words still echo in my head... "For together... they are strong." *sigh* BACK TO THE SETS!

REJOICE, friends! For Pridak's weapons are...! Silver with Red tips... wait, what?
-
Well... what I meant was that his prime color isn't Metru Green. New rule: All villains need to be hunched. That pic of Ehlek (though very nice) doesn't strike me as frightening as the set picture. Hang him low, Lego... hang him low. Damn, they weren't kidding when they said Takadox is "larger and more horrific than the other Barraki". Creepy. I'll puy it, though.

Hey Ikki, that last comment remids me of the one you put on BZPower... you know, the whole "wooden stick" thing gets kind of old. ^^ Seriously... I'm only buying a few of these. At first glance, they looked awesome, and I was excited about all of them... But some (Carapar, for instance) just look strange (What's with the wide crotch? Looks like he got off of riding a horse 5,000 miles.). However, a few shine greatly, such as Ehlek (Finally, Metru Green plagues me no more!), Mantax (with those fantastic Manta shoulders and tail, although his weapon lacks), and Takadox (Don't as me why... that whole "long, limber, and creepy-as-hell look really does it for me.) These look like great play value sents, and something that can beat the crap out of my worthless Jaller Inika. Somehow, I see him failing to win, and my Toa Olda sets combining forces to kci megablocks instead...

You can probably snatch one of the Barraki on eBay in Late November/Early December... that's when I got my first Piraka. What's with the constant Bohrok Limb hating? I think that they're great for Hunched torsos (Using both ball joints as shoulders), and they're great multiple parts if you want to make a serpent. Anyways, speaking of sets, I bought my first playset yesterday... waste of money, except for the minifigs.
-
I agree. It could have been better. What's with the random colors? The Squid Launcher looks horribly out of place, even more than a Zamor Launcher on a Piraka. While you did well on the head, the MoC lacks in other places, especailly the calves... not even the right piece, man! Just change a couple colors here and there and some pieces and it'll be fine. I seem a little harsh, but I get kinda weird when it comes to MoCing sets... ^^

I had one set from this line, and I gotta say: WHAT THE HELL. The line wasn't bad... it had great pieces, accessories, and Minifigures(But why the hell was that witch always in the sets?), but it was executed horribly. I had set 6037. Though I loved the axe, Dragon, and the Witch(And her sexy crystal ball.) I wondered, "What the hell is this supposed to be?" So yeah. If you don't build the sets, just take out the pieces, and the line is GREAT!

Whoa. Red highlights on Pridak? Talk about weird. Still loving that red Barraki... I want to duel him with Kopaka. "There can only be one three-eyed creature in this universe..." Or, in Kopaka's case... four-eyed. Let's just say MULTI-EYED, okay? Hey, the thing I'm excited for is the Left-handed villains. The whole "Six Heroes, One weapon hand" has always bugged me.
-
Actually, in the new series, there is a Karate Island. A horrible episode, as well. I hope it's not a set.
-
Enough BZP talk. From what I can see of Takadox, he's HUGE! Very impressive, but skinny. I suppose he's the opposite to Ehlek... Still loving those bulky ones...
-
Exactly. Amen. Whatever you call it. Once, I asked Bionicle Rex in a PM why he had a sig that had George Bush on it and why I couldn't state my political opinion, and he merely stated, "Because I'm an admin and you're not." Entire reply. No joke. Seriously, I'm just fed up with the members there being popular because they do good things and grow up to be good children. Some deserve their popularity, mind you, but most don't. ANGER. Now, back to the sets... Yes, ToM Dracone, I stated the body styles varying earlier... one looks small and runty, two are large and bulky, and the three others look... spindly and thin. Though I'd like to see a better Takadox picture before making my final opinion of the LOOK, not the playability, that what it looks like.
-
BZP is a site for children and adults, therefore, nice language must be used. I still love saying "damn" on this forum, though. I feel LIBERATED! To tell you the truth, I've been hanging out on BZP less and less lately, just because EB has more fun people. And that's saying something, considering BZP has, what, 200,000 members?
-
It's very funny, actually... GregF seemed to be the best thing that happened to BZP, considering he dropped hints on the storyline and made more complicated, unique plots to every year. But I kinda liked the original storyline better. Anyways... sperm throwers. Why does that sound so wrong to me? Back to the sets: It's good to see we finally have a successful three-eyed set. Reidak failed miserably. Takadox seems the least visible. I can't make heads or tails of his face... looks like... I don't even know.
-
On the Barakki display, it states "Escape from the Deep". Foreshadowing...
-
ToM's logic owns all. Yes, he was always on the storyline team, but he wasn't the storywriter until 2004. Ergo... eh, forget it. Your post pretty much takes care of it. I don't know how to change my name on here either, ToM.
-
Whole "Tahu's mask" thing was sarcasm. "Hydruka". For some reason, I totally like that name more than... Barakki? Barraki? Barakii? Damn you, lego.
