  1. Actually, a couple of their combiners were very good builds. The colors, though, sucked. ^^ I had Ski, Torch, Turbo, Scuba, Amazon, and Millenia. Good times. Blaster was probably the biggest and only Bionicle-sized Throwbot there was, and man... did I want him. *Checks E Bay for Throwbots*
  2. Flesh tones was an unexpected turn on Lego's part, but I don't see why everyone is so unhappy. With the original smile(which also holds a warm place in my heart), you can only customize a minifigure so much, but with newer faces, we can bring more characters into our ow nstories, characters that aren't so damn happy all the time.
  3. Jinzo, that would be a little ridiculous, though... just because the Croc Hunter bit the dust because of a stingray, they won't produce any stingray sets? Sure, it was a tragedy, but he died doing what he wanted to do. I really don't think that Lego would do it, and I pray to god that I'm right.
  4. ghoulrealm: Nice connnections, but the names for Bionicle characters haven't always been true to their meanings... ^^ Well, excluding the entire 2001 naming... Man, all the SW fans have gotten their pics, all the Exo-Force guys got theirs, the Town got theirs... sorta.. and so did Aquaraider waiters... when are we going to get leaked pics of 2007 sets?
  5. Jinzo... those are Lego Piraka spines, the ones from the minifigures.
  6. Everybody(well, not everybody) knows that they're coming out with a Live-Action Transformers Movie next year... Would that not be an awesome idea for a Lego Theme? Just for the movie, I mean. Higher quality than those BTR crap block-rip-off things that Hasbro made... Man, I could see it now, A set with Optimus against Megatron, maybe some city scenes with battling robots. What do you think?
  7. Man... I guess the Red Eye isn't doing too hot... ^^ Good luck to all!
  8. Whoa! I made it to the Eurobricks Superteam? SWEET!
  9. Iron Condor better have some babies. That thing is awesome. That's all I got.
  10. And... I've lost. Great job, Yoda! A great story and Minifig! Beats the hell out of mine! ^^
  11. ROFL, good job, Jinzo. Seriously, I just don't like Megabloks. The Brick quality is just worse than Lego. Plus, I grew up with Lego, and despite some of the really interesting sets Megabloks has had, I can't say that it would stay together as well as a Lego set. Plus... the Lego Minifig is just so much more customizable. Have you seen my entry in the Superhero contest? Could you do that with a MB set?
  12. HA! I'd rather die than register there. Well, if someone is registered there, could you kindly direct this post to their attention? MegaBloks has, in all ways, jumped on the bandwagon. The thing Lego lovers don't like about them is they have taken the Lego idea, gotten a bunch of titles, sculpted some crap minifigs, and then sculpted some big-megablocks dragons and ogres in a attempt to get the popularity of Lego. As you can see by the size of their forum, Megabloks does not have the popularity of Lego. And have you seen one of their topics? It's called: "LEGO and other clone brands." Because, obviously, Megabloks was created BEFORE Lego. I'm a moron, Megabloks forum members, ESS TEE EFF YOU.
  13. I suppose... Man, I saw a picture of Venom... I'd love to have him as a Minifig.
  14. Yeah... the EB Superteam. That would rock. I'd hope to make it in. Perhaps each member of the team would guard a certain forum, right?
  15. I've heard many rumors, such as Mysterio being the villain... but I think you might be right, UltraPrime... it might just be the true identity of a villain before they went bad. But yeah, I'd buy a Lego Venom or Sandman in a second. Plus... Megabloks crap wouldn't look good next to my Lego Spidey...!
  16. You must also realize that the Humans are the good guys, so they let the good guys win. Kids don't like it when they don't, right? Still, the Humans are outmatched and outgunned... I'd like to see the robots break through their defenses and kick some damned megablocks for once... probably what'll happen with the Sentai Fortress Comic... hopefully.
  17. Well, considering Lego took Spider-Man on late after the Movie came out, and since they also did Spider-Man 2 sets, (Which, in my opinion, where some of the best damn buildings we've had in a long time... I mean, that Dock kicked megablocks!) do you think Lego will take on Spider-Man 3? They've got dozen of choices to choose from because of the number of villains, and if they can put the quality of the SM2 sets inot them, it would kick megablocks. Of course, would that conflict with the already-existing DC title, Batman? Besides, I didn't see any 2007 SM3 titles coming out, but nor did I see Harry Potter, but they're not making those, right? Info we know about the movie(SPOILERS): Three Villains: Sandman, Harry Osborn(They haven't called him Hobgoblin or the Green Goblin) and Venom Possible Fourth Villain that has short screen time. Belltower scene(Good Lego Set, eh?) Four-way Battle Scene(Good Lego Set) Subway Scene
  18. Well, I know you didn't bash the sets, I should've made that clearer. Displayability? Oh, Displaying them? Well, i think you could make some intimidating poses with this guy... and the MoCing pieces on him seem great... As for the Inika, they were, in a sense. They took away all functionality and gear movement for simply playability... and they were the first to have weapons with light up functions... new rubber masks, new head pieces... I'd say they changed the way new fans will look at Toa. Overall, 2006 is different from any other year... Lego is just trying new things. Now... back to this set... How the hell are you going to fit that in a canister? *Prays for no Inika-sized canisters*
  19. First off, why doesn't everyone stop bashing the set until they have it in their hands? There coud be a few good explanations for a couple of things we "don't like..." Toa Tilius, its been stated by Greg that, "The other sets look very(or much) different from this one. So if you don't like this one, check out the others before making a statement about them being bad, or calling them clone sets. To Lego, not being a clone set means a different spine and mask and perhaps different pieces for the lower legs and such, but GregF has heard our lamentations about Clone sets, so I doubt he would mislead us when he said that. Second, I don't see anything that connects the "Spine" to the waist or lower section of this mysterious creature... and eveyone knows that, without being connected to the bottom of the Piraka, those rubber spines pop right up. Perhaps, like the Rahkshi, these sets have a shell made of plastic that doesn't move, giving the appearence of a hunched creature. It also looks like it connects by peg... Rubber can't connect by peg! Besides, if SO many of you don't like Rubber spines, you should've worded it out on BZP, which Lego listens to most of the time... remember Toa Lihkan? Those Red Eyes could be Red Ball joints... to me, that's hella tight. Notice how the top part of his body can'[t be seen? Maybe a giant rod doesn't exist there, but some kind of torso piece. Besides, Lego has had some bad designs(*CoughVAHKI!OH, MAN, THE VAHKI!Cough*), but they've always had some kind of chest and shoulders. That huge claw would beat the hell out of Naparu's, so I'm getting it for that... GREAT MoCing ability. Anyways, let's see how things play out, eh? Don't want to sound pissed... but... I AM. Playability is a big thing, so hold it in your hand and then we'll see what's so bad. Besides, Lego's not going to follow up a Revolutionary Set(The Inika... INIKA) with something extremely bland. They'll try to outdo themselves, because that's what kids want... something that looks, plays, builds, and tastes better then the last.
  20. Very nice stuff. I agree, though... many MoCists are good at one thing, so they stick with it. I've had a few MoCs shine through, but most are bad... we need to keep experimenting with different ideas. Funny thing is, I've been trying to please Systemhead's for a long time. I want to make a MoC that will make them take it back. ^^ EDIT: Though, Jinzo... I've found that, in most of his MoCs, he uses triple jointed legs.
  21. Nice job, man. Some good modifications there. I like Iron Man, and I agree... the face is definately Tony. Hulk is actually one of my favorites. I like the simplicity. Now, let's see a big battle scene!
  22. Very good, even if he used round bricks for people, it was funny. He didn't have a lot of coverage on the black team, though... the white team seemed to be the main focus. The soundtrack was good, as were many of the effects. I liked the Matrix part. ^^
  23. This topic is for the discussion of the entries too, right? If so... I think every entry so far has brought something new to the table. The first... Blue Samurai... I forget the name...^^ NUCLEO! Right... Nucleo. Nucleo has the custom decals, making him a worthy opponent... while my entry... well... I can't say much about it. Looking back, now, I see I could've done more with it. I suppose its the only entry so far that's been altered from Minifig form greatly. The Void, though... very nice work. I like the custom arm! I don't see having much of a chance in this contest. Still, good luck to all!
  24. Well, I posted mine! Good luck to all.
  25. Okay, here's my entry. Judge only Red Eye, not Kip Harris. Well, Kip is essentail, since they are both sentinent: Red Eye Alternate Picture Hero Name: Red Eye Secret Identity: Kip Harris Powers/Weapons/Abilities: Wears the Red Eye Helmet to control the Red Eye, a shell of armor with its own subconsciousness. The Red Eye has increased strength, agility, and a pike called the Shadoe which holds alien powers. Other Details: When wearing the Red Eye Helmet, Kip leaves his body, making it vulnerable to attack. He needs to keep his body in a sheltered area, or else he could be a victim to physical attacks. If his body were destroyed, he would be kept in the Red Eye forever, unable to return. He must wear a protective suit to shield the powers of Shadoe, and wears a glove on the hand he carries it in, for its powers are so mighty it can mutate his human body, though it is miles away from the battle. If he does not leave the Red Eye far away from humans, they can discover it and take it someplace else. This often results in comical situations, such as gaining control of Red Eye only to find himself in the middle of an auction, where the suit of armor is being sold off. Origin Story: The Red Eye and its helmet have traveled across the galaxy for many years, used as a weapon for evil and good. Its creator, a scientist alien, intended its purpose to be used for armies: thousands of Red Eye soldiers marching into battle, their opponents realizing that the could not be killed, for their controllers were miles away. The alien built four models, but his base was attacked, and the suits and their helmets were stolen. Through a series of events, all four were spread across the galaxy. At one point, the Red Eye suit landed on an unjust planet, where the one who found it used it to combat evil. Unfortunately, while fighting, his body was destroyed, and his mind was trapped in the shell of armor forever. In his last moments of power, he took the helmet and blasted off into space, where he then landed on earth. Kip Harris was a normal person was lived a normal life. One day, though, he was strolling through the park, when a comet hit the area. He ran over to see what it was, and he found a metal body holding a helmet. Picking the headgear up, he ran off with it as more people gathered. Life then returned to regularity, and Kip placed the helmet on his dresser and forgot about the entire experience. Then one day, chaos ensured. One of the other Suits of armor landed in the same area, demanding to know where the first was, for it had tracked it there. When it got no answer, it began to destroy the city nearby, where Kip was living. He narrowly escaped the destruction, and, thinking quickly, placed the helmet one his head. So he awakened in a governmental bunker, now encased inside the Red Eye. One look at himself in a mirror made him decide upon his name: the first thing he noticed was the glowing red eye that faced him. He then looked for as weapon which he could use against the creature destroying his home, and he found Shadoe next to him in the bunker. Wielding it, he escaped the facility and raced back to the city with amazing speed. He then combated his foe and overpowered it with Shadoe. When his foe was defeated, it activated a homing beacon that rippled throughout the universe and blasted off, telling Kip in Red Eye's body that the beacon would draw thousands of different aliens to the planet, ones that wanted the suits of armor for themselves. Kip swore that it was up to him to stop these creatures with Red Eye, and he made a vow to protect the earth with the powers he had. He now combats any foe who comes to earth.
