Toyfair 2007 Bionicle Set Images
Darkness Falls replied to JINZONINGEN73's topic in LEGO Action Figures
WHATEVEH! I knew another one looked familiar. See another thing you need to understand is (and this is my last argument) that DV has the skill to replicate those types of MoCs because of ingenuity. Sure, he may not be able to tell you exactly how it's done, but he can probably recreate the effect using different, unique methods. -

I think he can, considering he built one of them. -

Its because they use pieces in an even MORE unorthodox way, that sometimes comes off looking a bit strange. -

Yeah, but Bionicle sets aren't as complex as MoCs. A MoC is more original in design. Now, if you're talking Titans and Boxed Sets... then yes, you do know a bit of complexity. Those pieces by the way, are catches that stop him from falling over. ** So guys... now you see that people like xbloodyfangs are the reason they made the Mahri. -

Man, DV, right now you are in possession of the high ground. All of your arguments are logical... unlike... Actually... knowledge of design structure, fusion, and firsthand experience definitely change your opinion on a MoC. I know they did for me. You start looking at MoCs like this and judging it by how you used a horrible color scheme, and how some parts are structurally unstable and others are solid. All of the MoCs that were shown seemed unique in design, and I studied them carefully... That's how you improve as well, realizing that some pieces cause more stable torsos, etc. and you begin to build stuff like this. By the way, do you know that the torso of that MoC contains 24 pieces, all not intended for a torso? Whereas the new torso pieces are intended to make... a torso. I guess that was all pretty pointless. What I'm trying to say is that yes, buidling a MoC will change your view on things. -

Agreed. A combination of the two is the right way to create something awesome. Alone, they are either too lanky, or too blocky. -
Yeah, all I'm going to say is that I won't argue with anyone, no matter how pointless their argument seems to be. I like the set... and you don't have to.

Wha-huh? I tried to explain... I guess nobody saw that post. -
Well, I apologize too all those who have been personally wounded by my insults. Once again, this forum seems to have a lack of understanding.
-
I'd laugh. It's a hollow insult. The legs' STRUCTURE is completely solid, therefore I see no reason why they should be flimsy.

Because new parts nowadays are intended for one reason only! Notice how, in Titan sets, you have an extremely similar structured body. Gadunka uses two Piraka torsos for arms and legs... let's see you use a Piraka torso for, let's say, a forearm. A foot? Parts back in '01-'04 had such imagination to them. Now, the possibilities for a part are slimmed down so much. -
Flimsy legs? I think you've caught a case of the stupid. Both mechs use the same exact joints as other EF mechs... the larger vehicle uses the Mobile Devastator joints! Personally, it looks fine to me. I'll pick it up.

Having a built, V-shaped torso and thin arms isn't scrawny? '01 Toa bodies are awesome MoCing pieces. -
Impressive. The structure itself is a nice piece of work, and I'm just iffy on who is holding those flame swords. Orcs, dammit... ORCS. But, it's a pretty well-built structure, and a fair amount of minifigs. I'll snag one.

Brickshelf FIND: Really Impressive Dragon

I've spent hours trying to replicate what Cajun can do with bricks and pieces... he's simply a great sculptor. Whether it's his famous Weaving technique or with bricks alone, he never ceases to impress me. Well, maybe a couple of times. -

...The Mahri? They look WAY better than the Hordika, though that isn't saying much. They bring more variety than the Inika. I think they look fine. -

He said resemble. VERY similar masks on a more articulated body, which still possesses the same colors and Nuva-esque armor. -

...Wow. I watched that... and now I realize why I've lost interest in Bionicle. Those animations had such visual beauty... and that's one of the reasons I loved it so much. -

I believe that the Piraka were played off more as heroes in 2006 than the Inika. They were unique characters with uncharismatic ideals... and they seemed to be focused upon much more than the Inika. The Barraki, however, have a sense of mystery to them... like what they've been doing since the Great Cataclysm, and why they just so happen to always be around, ready to pull a Matoran into the depths. Good stuff. -
Can I get a good picture of this? I can't see the pic on page one...

Let's NEVER and say we did. Or better yet, say we didn't.
