  1. Brutatka and Keetongu are my favorites in regards to appearance, but Takanuva was such a massive deal back in '03, it's hard not to say him. He was a game-changing set. He represented the height of Bionicle's popularity IMO.
  2. This may seem off-topic, but I think this is a decent place to ask this. As someone who more or less ignored Hero Factory after purchasing and being really underwhelmed by two of the 2.0 figures from... whatever year that was, has the CCBS improved since then, and are the Chima ultrabuilds decent representations of what to expect from upcoming the Bionicle figures?
  3. Is it just me, or is the Dino Hunter very reminiscent of Ripley from Alien?
  4. That is a fantastic looking polybag. The orange head and legs work magnificently. I have a rather odd question that is unrelated to the 2014 Chima, but does relate to a set released last year. In his review of 70111 Swamp Jump, JangBricks said that as an adult, he finds the Furty figure unsettling for reasons that will go over the heads of kids. Um... okay, I'm only twenty, but I do have a pretty nice amount of general cultural knowledge, and I have no idea to what he is referring. Anyone have any ideas? Is there some disturbing anthropomorphic fox movie/book that I have missed?
  5. This is a fantastic example of why I have not collected much Chima at all. Sure, there are some well designed sets, but per wave, there are a handful of sets like this that quite frankly look unfinished. This is a piece of crap. The torso is just a couple of Technic beams with almost no detail beyond that. And the trike riding on it looks stupid. Unacceptable design flaws. Still, as per the usual, the figures are fantastic.
  6. The great and powerful Jang has a review of the Icebreaker up on Youtube.
  7. I've set up all the sets on my shelf and the look fantastic together, but you are correct in that I think the base would look good free-standing as well. It's a huge black semi truck. It's got serious presence to it. Not really. It's pretty much what I expected from the pictures.
  8. I think it is good value. It is a very solid main base and it offers more playability than most bases since it is a vehicle also. I'm not really sure that you HAVE to own it, but given what little we know of the story, yes, it does tie most of the other sets together. It also does give the Agents at least a small chance to defeat the much better armed baddies whereas they are pretty much doomed without it. I'm not really sure what you mean when you ask if one needs "appreciate in full form." If you're talking about Terabyte, he's pretty superfluous to the set. His mech is tolerable yet bland, although Terabyte himself is a great figure. As far as hidden or obscure touches, not really. The microscope is nice, the white double-barrel Alien Conquest blasters are cool, and the use of Mixels ball joints is welcome, but I don't really think there is anything too unexpected. And finally, that is still a good price. You get a lot of stuff in this set, so paying extra is justified methinks. I would NOT buy this first though. Get Infearno and Psyclone first. Combined, they are the better purchase.
  9. Just finished the Mission HQ. Any questions?
  10. It is extremely effective. Incorrect. The tubes are rubbery instead of regular plastic, so they can move somewhat, thereby allowing him to turn his head pretty normally. His arms will get in the way if turned to far to the side though,
  11. After building his mech, I feel confident in saying that Psyclone could probably take out the entire Agents force by himself. The little vehicles are no match for him and he has far more firepower than Solomon Blaze's Tron car. (Which is the best set in the theme IMO) At the very least, he'd force a retreat to the HQ, which is the only thing that might be able to withstand him. Honestly, the Agents are screwed. They are outnumbered and massively outgunned by the villains, even with the HQ truck. I'd bet on the bad guys in this fight.
  12. I don't know how I missed that. It looks great.
  13. Huh? Arctic supply plane? When did this get announced?
  14. Of course. They're both great. Psyclone is probably the best figure of the theme thus far. His backpack looks a bit clunky when he is outside his vehicle, but I love the flight suit and helmet. Psyclone has some magnificently bushy eyebrows. Infearno is ridiculous and awesome. He looks like a cross between Red Skull and Satan. His head will be very useful for fantasy/sci-fi builders who want to make demon figures. His head flame should be quite useful too. Here it is on a regular minifgure. And as a bonus, here is Solomon Blaze with his younger counterpart. This will presumable cause a paradox that will shatter the space-time continuum. I guess the Time Cruisers can fix it.
  15. We all know about the disturbing yelling Win Kid at the back of most instruction booklets telling us to go give feedback on Lego.com to potentially WIN prizes and so forth. Well, I have purchased Ultra Agents and Arctic sets and instead of Win Kid, we have Lloyd from Ninjago in the Agents instructions and a firefighter in the Arctic instructions. Could it be that we have finally been delivered from the menace of Win Kid once and for all?
  16. Just picked up Riverside Raid, Infearno Interception, and Hurricane Heist. Building them now. Feel free to request pictures/info.
  17. A guy on Youtube named Bamboo Brick Blog has some quality reviews of the sets if anyone is interested.
  18. Since Solomon Blaze is an agent, we can assume that this theme takes place far into the technologically advanced future due to the presence of his younger self in Galaxy Squad. I'm not saying anything new there, but it does bring up an interesting thought. Why is Toxikita still using a helicopter centuries in the future? A bit archaic, don't you think?
  19. Her hair is Bright Green.
  20. By the way, I don't know if this is already known, but Toxikita has a double-sided head.
  21. Certainly.Inside primary base area. Inside garage. Nice TV sticker as well as a nice photo sticker. There is a small stove on the other wall of the garage. From front with snowmobile in garage. Inside of mobile HQ. First book is only for dog sled and snowmobile, both of which are in bag 1. Minifigs are orange goggles woman and a green goggles man.Second bag and book are for the helicopter. Contains second green goggles man, the pilot, and the bear. Third book is for the drill truck. The third bag contains the frame of the truck and the grinning orange goggles man. The fourth bag contains the cab of the truck and the drill arm. Fourth book builds the primary compartment with the conveyer belt. The fifth bag contains the walls, the interior, the scientist, and the dark blue skull cap man. The large dark bley plates the base is built on are loose in the box, as is the conveyer belt, which is surprisingly one large pre-built piece. The sixth bag contains the roof, door a few tools, and the rest of what is needed to build the conveyer belt assembly. Fifth book builds the garage. The seventh bag builds the walls and interior while the eighth and final bag builds the roof, doors, and communications array. There are no figures in these bags. Here are the figures. The base is great. Honestly, the official images show it off quite well. If you think it looks good from those pictures, you'll like it. Again, I must reiterate that I am about as big a fan of the original Arctic as there is, so I am heavily biased in favor of this theme, but I would highly recommend both the base and the mobile HQ. Having said that, I do think that the icebreaker will end up being the superior set though. Nothing against the base. It is just that the ship looks outstanding.
  22. [seven. And I also assume that the module from the icebreaker is meant to attach to the base. The door on the base does not have a ladder or steps leading to it, so the base is actually inaccessible except by the conveyer belt, so the module from the icebreaker is in fact necessary to provide a real entrance. Here is a general overview. Just let me know what you specifically wish to see and I'll take some more pictures.
  23. It was not in a bag.
  24. Finished both the base and mobile HQ. Holy crap, you guys. They are glorious. Granted, I was a huge fan of the original Arctic theme, so I am a bit biased, but these are just amazing. Go get them now. BTW, the mobile HQ cannot connect to the base in any way.
