  1. With their business completed, the party bid farewell to Gurnam, who only gnashed his teeth in reply, and headed for the Eubric Apothecary. 2. The Fenarian's song bringing him out of deep thought, Skrall accordingly divided the goal equally, giving 20 Gold to each party member. "Nicely done chaps, whoever these trespassers are, they weren't expectin' to become the hunted. Now let's see what's on this slip of parchment, Althior you're a mage, you can read this, right?" Skrall handed the paper over to Althior.
  3. I was curious about that, technically all players start with 1 potion so you should have 0 Gold and 2 potions. I will adjust it, thanks.
  4. "Aye that would be 19 Gold in interest, but ya never know when some extra change may come in handy and I can wait to collect till after yer paid by yer employer."
  5. It's nothing against you personally volcanicpanik, every city has its more seedy individuals, Gurnam just happens to be one of them. Besides you'd be cranky and doing deals in the Eurbric blackmarket too, if you were stuck selling second-hand sushi and seafood all day
  6. "I'd best hold yer tongue ranger, or you may wake up one mornin' without it," Gurnam gnashes his teeth hungrily while running his fingers down his filleting knife. "If it weren't fer me, yer precious employer wouldn't have any of my products to begin with." The sharkling turns to the rogue Atramor, "Now that ya mention the description, I do remember the lad, 'bout a week back, it was early in the mornin' when my catch had just been brought in. He was hoppin' from one foot to the other, all anxious like. I gave him his 3 bottles of Hippocamp tears, the last of my stock, and he took off headin' north. Now is there anythin' else I can get ya gentlemen, poisoned blade or a short loan perhaps?"
  7. "Julian...hmmm, not ringin' any bells. What's he look like? The alchemists are always sendin' lads down here to pick up somethin' or another. As to my other wares, a sharklin's got to make a decent livin'. Ya think I'd spend my time down here sellin' second-rate sushi if it were goin' to make me rich. No, I've got connections, ya need somethin' brought into Eubric, ya come to me. Ya need somethin' shipped off of Eubric, ya come to me. Ya need a chap taken care of, ya come to me. These Hippocamp tears yer after, ya know those are pretty strong stuff, strongest hallucinogen on the sea they say. The port authorities banned the import of 'em 8 months ago, those things will knock ya out for a week, trust me I've sampled the trial size. Now let me see, where was it... Ah here it is." The sharkling produces a piece of parchment smudged with whale oil and grease:
  8. "Would you all shut yer traps!" The sharkling points his knife menacingly at the group. "Do you know you could get me keel-hauled if word got round to the port authorities that I was sellin' Hippocamp Tears!" Gurnam looks around nervously to ensure nobody wis watching their interaction too closely. "Now who sent ya? What's this about a missin' alchemist?"
  9. So do I, I couldn't believe it when Prison Riot Mafia started up with another shark headed figure being played by none other than Sandy. Totally a coincidence, really
  10. The party makes their way southward toward the coast, as they walk down the cobbled streets, the odor of fish and the briny deep filters northward and the shouts of merchants and screeches of gulls fill the air with a cacophony of noises. Making their way through the crowd, the party comes upon the small shack marked with a golden trident above it. Lounging within the shadows of his stand, the second hand seafood monger, Gurnam, plays with a filleting knife. "Yeh, what can I do fer ya?"
  11. Sorry about that my phone was stuck, so multiple clicks on submit post yielded multiple repeats of my original statement. Compass problem solved for the moment, don't worry Pie you'll get to use it.
  12. Atramor checks his compass, but due to the party's proximety to the hall which is packed full of scientific equipment, the compass encounters interference with the signal, though the needle does briefly hover between the northwest and south cardinal points. "You'll find Gurnam in ze Fish Market, he deals in second hand seafood and other...cough... items of interest. He's a bit brutish, but his services are top notch. Oh and if you do deliver all ze items I'll see to it zat you each receive a bonus of 15 Gold, but please find Julian, he ees like flesh and blood to me." What will the party do next?
  13. I'll let you use the compass, the party may not be prepared for what they find however and do you really want to miss out on all the fun of solving the puzzle, it's pretty much straight forward. Trust me, you'll get a chance when your compass is useful later. 14. "Alright, let us finish this. Take him down however you all please." Skrall loaded another quarrel hoping that it would be his last and proceeded to target the bandit (axe) from the back row. Battle Order: Skrall Althior Namyrra Dyric Arasmyth Bob
  15. I've got a good collection of castle pieces and minifigs with me at college so it wasn't that hard to make yours, photo it, and edit. The only part I was unsure of was the face, since it was obsured in the original photo, so I just used a generic fantasy castle knight. If you quote the first post of the quest, you can grab the image link off of there for your signature.
  16. "Unfortunately the last time I saw Julian, was ze morning he ran out to do ze errands. I would check at Gurnam's firat since he opens ze earliest, you can't miss his stand in the fish market, it's marked by a golden trident. As to Julian's appearance, he's rather short for his age, wears a slate blue tunic and he has a brown mop of hair on his head. He probably took his satchel wiz him to carry ze items. You should have no trouble picking up ze extra items, just let the shopkeeper know to put it on ze Guild's tab. Zat is about all I can tell you, is there anyzing else?."
  17. "Ah yes, how could I be so forgetful..." The formulist reaches into his vest pocket and pulls out a list and a small map of Eubric and starts to mark it with a piece of charcoal. After scribbling for a minute or two he hands the list and the map to the party. "Zat should be everyzing, I made a copy of ze list, because Julian has a habit of purchasing extra zings on ze Guild's tab. If you should discover Julian has yet to have picked up ze items, pick zem up for me hwile you are zere. Is zere anyzing else?"
  18. I agree, I like it, it's definitely a shift away from the standard BURP or even the brick built variations of the BURP. I imagine though, you give up in stability what you gain in aesthetics?
  19. Five heroes made their way to the Guildhouse of Invision, as they walked down the streets of Eubric, the travelers and merchants of the port took note of the swarthy party which included: Atramor Gibbin *Party Leader* (Played by CallMePieORDie) Level 7 Rogue Power: 13 Health: 13/13 Gold: 24 Inventory: Whip Chain of Pickpocketing (WP:6), Bone x2, Potion, Magic Compass, Pickaxe, Magnifying Glass, Shovel Elgar Gligin (Played by Jedi master Brick) Level 1 Ranger Power: 4 Health: 6/6 Gold: 5 Inventory: Bow and Arrow (WP:3), Smoke Bomb, Bedroll, Venom, Potion Sir Glorfindel (Played by soccerkid6) Level 1 Knight Power: 4 Health: 10/10 Gold: 5 Inventory: Broadsword (WP:3), Lion Shield (SP:2), Potion, Bedroll Tarn Valco (Played by Rumble Strike) Level 6 Barbarian Power: 15 Health: 13/13 Gold: 52 Inventory: Kyrferath, a Battle Ax (WP:9, water elemental), Pole-axe (WP:3), Bottle of Mead, Lightning Bomb, Potion x2, Tonic, Venom William Harkenshire (Played by volcanicpanik) Level 1 Ranger Power: 4 Health: 6/6 Gold: 5 Inventory: Bow (WP:3), Potion, Smoke Bomb, Bedroll As they approached the western side entrance to the guildhall, the barbarian, Tarn Valco, bent to relace his boot and discovered 2 Gold that had fallen into a crack in the cobblestones. As the party reached their destination, they were greeted by the guild formulist, Dr. Guillaume Mynatt. “Good day gentlemen, my name is Dr. Guillaume Mynatt. I am ze formulist here at ze guild specializing in ze synzesis of modern compounds and soluzions for our organization. I unfortunately posted my original advertisement in ze fish market zinking I may get some responze, but zankfully one of your fellow heroes happened upon eet and placed eet in your hall. Consequently my assistant Julian has been missing for almost a week now. Ze lad is only 15 years of age, but he has had a tendency to linger in ze shops and take time off without notice, but never for zis long. Last I saw him, he was going to pick up some supplies for research that I am conducting for a patron. Now is zere any other information I can provide you hwiz, for your investigation?” OOC: First off as an order of preference, if there are any mistakes or out of character questions during the quest, please post them in the discussion section, I keep up to date on that topic as much as I do this one, so hopefully it will keep the quest flowing. Feel free to edit any of your posts if needed, except for battle actions; if you need to change those just add another post, thanks. Soccerkid6, I made up a clearer avatar for your character, let me know if you want me to change it back. Rumble Strike, as stated earlier you already anticipated one of my pet peeves in the discussion section, so you may add the 2 Gold to your signature. Other than all that, have fun!
  20. "Well, well, well. What have we got here? Why don't you chaps, just lower yer weapons and surrender peaceably and I won't have this Fenarian turn you into popsicles... No?... Alright then," Skrall aimed his crossbow at the Bandit (Axe) from the back row, "perhaps a little persuasion is in order. Namyrra, I'd rather have you target the chap with the staff along with Althior, if all goes well we won't have to deal with him or his creatures next round. He's less likely to summon something if we keep attacks against him at a minimum. Everyone else, feel free to start flingin' some of yer spells from the back row at this other thug, except Dyric. I think that axeman has an appointment up close and personal with yer longsword!" Battle Order: Althior Namyrra Skrall Dyric Bob Arasmyth
  21. "I'd rather not be hampered by a trunk that could just be full of dirty dishes. Let's head back to the last intersection and head down the right path and keep our eyes peeled for any keys."
  22. "Arasmyth, I thank you fer yer effort, but I think we're just goin' to have to take a chance." With that, Skrall stepped ahead of the mage and atempted to open the chest.
  23. "Well sticks are wood, and I think I saw ya usin' a bit of plant magic before, so if you can remove those sticks via magic, go for it, otherwise, I'll go and physically investigate those things myself. I can take the hit if it's a trap, but I expect someone to get me out "
  24. No, my pet peeve is Out of Character Comments, I know I use them too but wait for the quest topic and then you'll see. As to weapons and gems, I don't mind them, I just think they should be rarer, but you'll get to keep your axe so don't worry. It's my job to think up a counter balance to keep the quest challenging not simply take things away from you, heck if I wanted to make it easy on myself I could just have you and Pie get bonked on the head so that you would have to play with level 1 stats for the entirety of the quest, so that I can calculate enemy stats more easily. Hmmm...
  25. Issue fixed, thanks Rumble Strike. Yes your original assumption was correct. You've also anticipated one of my pet peeves for the upcoming quest which you'll see tomorrow, so stay tuned for a small bonus. On another note: I've heard some strange tales in the hall, but forced heroism is a first, I can't wait to see where this goes
