  1. "Good day to ya my good sir. I don't believe we've had the pleasure yet. Sit yerself down and have a drink. [skrall orders another tankard for the stranger] Ah, it's good to be back, not that earnin' a fair amount of gold ain't agreable, but ya see our last quest led us through a terrible stretch of sewers and I could barely stand the stench myself and that's something strong even fer an ogre."
  2. I'm thinking Sham has green skin, unless you're spotting something I didn't, though I agree that the character with the scout trooper helmet does seem to stick out. On another note, if I upgrade my hunter's crossbow from WP 4 to 5 does that mean its effectiveness against beasts also upgrades from WP 8 to 9?
  3. News of Skrall's party's return had seemed to have already permeated the remaining inhabitants of the hall, so much so that people assumed he had already entered even before he had set foot across the threshold The ogre strode across the hall towards the table where En Sabeh Nur and Haldor sat, as he approached them he ordered a tankard of ale from the bar maid. Sitting himself down, Skrall removed his ram horn pipe and lit its contents taking a few contented puffs on his pipe. "Well mates, now how much do ya suppose we ought to disclose to our fellow heroes?" As he asked the question Nur slid a small pouch of gold from the sale of the chalice. The ogre nooded his thanks and received his tankard as the orc maid came round the table.
  4. Is that Sham we see with the rucksack and tan mop hair?
  5. So I'm up for suggestions from the current QM's, how do you go about figuring enemy stats, it's been pretty much standard that they are at the same level or a little below or above the level of the party, but how about health? Has anyone done the probability calculations on how much health per monster given X amount of party members versus X amount of monsters at X level? I've taken statistics, so I could probably figure out what is statistically speaking the best stats to give my enemies, but I didn't feel like doing all that work if somebody had come up with a simpler method
  6. I don't suppose one can find rare candies in this game?
  7. "Aye, and if it been any use to ya, we've disposed of at least half a dozen members of the wolfgang, which you neglected to put in the job description. Furthermore it's come to our attention, you and your men 'ave been pocketin' a little change for yerself "under the table" as it were. So if it's anyone that's to do the explainin' maybe it should be yerself captain. I'm sure if the six houses were made aware of yer dealin's you'd soon be out of a job. It's folks like us who keep the order and the peace around here. We know the real bandits in this city and they ain't the ones crawlin' around in sewers at the dead of night, they're the ones that are sittin' behind the desks and money tables fattening themselves on the misfortunes of others. Survival of the fittest right captain?"
  8. Skrall whispered to his companions, "Well boys, it's the moment of truth. I came to heroica cause I felt the time had come to make an honest livin', I'm all well and fine with sidin' with the wolfpack in manners of politics and principal, but I ain't goin' to rob the captain by pretendin' we were robbed ourselves. Tis a sticky business but we may still be able to pull it off. I'm willin' to give my share back, what ya do with yer own I leave up to you."
  9. "Aye, we need to pull the lever in the vermin infested tunnel first then pull the one here"
  10. "Poor chap, seems our friend the spider was right. Since I've already aquired this new crossbow, I'd suggest you two split the rod and die between you both. We can split the cost of the chalice when we return to the market. If we've explored the entirity of the sewers, I'm ready to get out of here before we end up like him."
  11. "Hmmm... Perhaps we should investigate the other tunnel from our most recent battle?"
  12. Huffing and puffing from his exertion, Skrall took a step back from the sluicegate, "Well, chaps it seems like that there lever and fate be our only options. I hope that pile back there ain't the remains of some poor chap that got stuck down 'ere"
  13. Skrall's claustophobia was setting in again and the dead ends were definately not helping. He tried to analyze the problem that was before the party but was definately having difficulty keeping focus while the walls seemed to be closing in. "Sod! Where's yer siblin's when ya need 'em? So two levers. I say we flip this one as the other is likely to cut off the flow of water and create a back up pressure against this gate which would flood us out if we then attempted to open it. Any other thoughts? Perhaps I could try musclin' it open." Skrall strode over to the sluicegate and attempted to physically force it open.
  14. "Thank you kindly, these could come in handy," mentioned Skrall as he stowed away the vials of venom Nur had given him. "I agree, we're best to return to the cross-tunnel and proceed forward, from my conversation with our little friend, all he could tell us, was to be wary of the levers and that there was some connection between the levers and other adventurers' dooms, I doubt if the spider will even still be there. But let's be goin' the longer I sit still the more this place starts to wear on my nerves and the thought of drownin' in a flood of sewage ain't helpin' either." "How are you holdin' up Haldor, more action than you bargined fer?"
  15. I agree, with only 3 of us, things are going pretty smoothly. Sorry if we're stretching it out longer than you expected Sandy, you probably had everything ready for a final battle with Donny before we decided to go in the complete opposite direction . What can I say, it's giving me more time to build the scenes for my own quest after this one and I just love how you illustrate the settings with your Moc's. Keep up the good work
  16. Skrall straigtened up, feeling slightly weekened by the poison that had been coursing through his veins. "I think we should be wary of that lever, our small spider friend warned us about such things and I don't see any reason for him to lie, unless he was tryin' to keep us from his secret stockpile of gold and jewels . If my memory serves me correctly from my elder sister Skraula, who's takin' civil engineerin' night classes, that may very well be a release valve that with one pull will drown us all under a flood of overflow. I would suggest we make for the other tunnel, but I'm willin' to go with what ever you decide Nur. If things take a turn for the worse, I can try wedgin' myself against the sides of the walls and you two can hold on to me should we encounter a deluge."
  17. Skrall Chuckled at his friend's skill in battle as he reloaded his crossbow before sighting in the Toxic Toad (Green) from the backrow. "Aye a good hit, now just take care you don't remove too many of the surroundin' supports with your toad smashin' antics!"
  18. "Thank you kindly, little friend," replied Skrall, bidding the spider farewell as he followed his companions down the right tunnel. Skrall spotted the beastial assailents as they approached the end of the tunnel. "Time to put this so called huntin' crossbow to good use at long last," the ogre thought to himself as he targetted the Big Rat from the back row. OOC: Yes I did use a potion right after Nur removed the cave in. Not a big deal to me, only if it causes me to die.
  19. "Sorry chaps, I've been at classes all day ponderin' the recent turn of events. Aye, I agree we should explore the rest of the sewer even though my skin crawls at the thought of it. Haldor, here is the yer 25 Gold [Skrall hands 25 Gold to Haldor]. I suggest we try going right, but first..." Skrall gazed down at the bioluminescent spider. "Hmm... never tried conversin' with an insect before." The ogre bent down and quietly whispered in an indecipherable language as to whether the spider knew of any other dangers or treasures within the bowls of Eubric.
  20. Skrall watched as the figure drew himself out of the muck of the sewer's floor and listened as the famed Donny Dozenhands delivered his expected monologue . Speaking in a whisper to his companions, "Hold yar horses Haldor, no one said any thing about bein' a crook, all we would have to do is let the fine gentleman go. Provided he has sicked his thugs on us twice, almost buried us alive, and stole from you earlier Haldor, but wouldn't you have too given his position. For all we know, the Town watch are as much criminals as he is, don't ya see we've been hired by the devil to catch the demon. Now I'm as much an ogre of my word as any respectable chap and I've seen how corruption can cause sufferin' and pain, but all I'm saying is we consider his offer carefully. Perhaps it would come in handy to have some clout with the Wolfgang, who knows we may be able to lie low enough that we could bag the whole bunch in a giant inside sting operation? Nur as party leader, I'll follow ya where ever ya lead, let's just not let 'ol noble pants here back us into a corner that's all" OOC: No offense Scorpiox, just playing in character. On a note it would be an interesting twist getting on the inside of the underdog faction, everyone knows the predictable outcome if we refuse the offer so...
  21. Skrall hefted his crossbow sighting the indiviual in the weapons aiming mechanism, he then fired off a bolt attempting to pin the distant figure's cloak to the wall.
  22. As the party scurries through the damp and dark sewers, Skrall removes one of his potions and downs it in a hasty gulp. Up ahead the group notice an ascending figure. "Shall I fire a pinning shot to that bosun's cloak or do you think some more of your earthen magic might come in handy here Nur?"
  23. Skrall approached the pipe, leveled his crossbow flush with the opening and fired off a shot, listening for a ricochet from within.
  24. Alright so I understand that if we use an item in battle, we cannot be attacked, but does this mean the "any untargetted enemy will get a free attack" rule does not apply, or just that using an item is a garunteed sucess and there is no chance of taking damage or special damage from a specific enemy. i.e. Which Scenerio is correct? Hero A vs. Enemy B: 1st round Hero A uses tonic. Hero A is sucessful and restores such and such ether to himself. 2nd round Hero A attacks Enemy B from front row. etc. etc. etc. OR Hero A vs. Enemy B: 1st round Hero A uses tonic. Hero A is sucessful and restores such and such ether to himself. Enemy B was untargetted and thus does such and such damage to Hero A. 2nd Round Hero A attacks Enemy B from the front row. etc. etc. etc.
  25. The tunnel had caved in, Skrall had taken a nasty blow to the head and was nursing his wounds, trying not to think about how the party was even more confined now than before. He noticed a small bottle on the floor, as Nur picked up the vial Skrall recognized its faint glow as belonging to a Pheonix Essence. "Aye, a nasty knock on the head is quite a price for such a fancy trinket. Nur I would suggest you give that to the cleric, since the both of us are liable to be in need of it before him. Speakin' of needin' healin' I've thought it out this way: if we were to have Haldor here, work his power on us all, we'd be back to full strength at the cost of 3 ether to him. If we all took a potion, we'd all be one potion short but Haldor would be saved 3 ether. Since in battle usin' a potion is a garunteed full recovery as compared to a cleric's miss or less heal, I'd suggest we save our potions for when we run in to more suitable foes. What do ya both think? In the meantime, Nur, do ya think ya could cast some of yer earthen magic to clear this cave in? I'd do so myself, 'xcept there's not enough room fer me to manouver in here."
