I haven't even seen that movie. But it does create quite the mental picture.

Skrall stared into empty space watching his smoke rings play among the rafters, "Satisfaction, little one, satisfaction."

"If ya know of a better way of takin' down somethin' in a hurry, then I'm all ears. No I've never been shall we say 'sensative' to the ether stuff, never really trusted those who did either. How ya supposed to trust somethin' ya can't see? None of the houses ever seemed to thrilled to take on an ogre in their services and the few other teachin' folks I've met, never stuck around long enough to train me for anything worthwhile. No, a hunter I am and a hunter I'll stay, sides wouldn't seem right to give up on the hunt before it's finished."
-
Skrall finished off his ale. "Unlike the houses here in Eubric, Strivvi is a city openly divided. Two rivaling brothers tryin' to wrest control from each other while the city is strangled by outside influences like the Wolfgang right under their noses. They don't take too kindly to outside interference either, twice we've had to make it out of there because we tried pokin' our noses too deep. Tis an aggrivatin' place, we weren't even tryin' to get caught up in all the politics, simple mission, get in get out, but wouldn't ya know it ya can't set a foot in the place without pickin' a side. Mayhaps one of these days we'll actually make it back there and finish up the business for good." Skrall pulled out his pipe and lit a pinchful of pipeweed, "So tell me Hybros, seems to me ya were always carryin' around one of those big scythes. Ya don't seem to be carryin' any weapons with ya at all anymore. Taken up the way of a healer have ya?"
-
True.
-
"Sounds like quite a bit of nasty business. Then again the world seems full of such nastiness these days. As for controlling Eubric, who ain't tryin' too? And no, not everyone can win, one of these days things are really gonna come to head and then we'll really folks true colors and how much they're willin' to bend what they think is "right" for the "good" of everyone."

"Well that was a close one." "Serves... Filthy... Cleric... Right..." Round 1 of Corpse Confrontation: >Atramor vs. Dwarf - Damage (30/2=15 Damage, No deflection, Aura activates) >Pretzel - Hands Thalion Dual Staff >Thalion - Hands Pretzel Alpha and Omega >Ratabor vs. Human - Damage (15/2=7-26=0 Damage, 10 Bleeding) Heckz vs. Mopagian - Hit (31 Damage) Atramor- Free Hits (Troll & Elf)(40+15/2=27-26=1 Damage) Atramor - Bleeding (10 Damage) Atramor tries to skewer the dwarf, but the ex-miner is too quick for him and dodges aside swiping at the Regulator finding a weakspot in his armor. Atramor does find a moment to setup an Aura and prepares to take on any incoming damage. Pretzel and Thalion swap weapons as Ratabor is savaged by the hooked human, but Atramor's Aura keeps the cleric safe. Heckz manages to deal some hefty damage on the Mopagian, but the stiff seems to shrug off the pain and wails back harder than ever. The Battle Continues! I was referring to Alpha and Omega in the hands of Pretzel. Being able to deal out duel healing without any risk of damage would only make things more challenging.
-
Sorry Pala, but for a quest that's centered around the undead, having a duel healing Paladin and cleric, makes things a little too easy. I'll run the round soon and continue as the rules-as-written are now, but I'm hoping we can get a change worked out.
-
So even when healing an ally, heroes would be susceptible to Damage and Special Damage?
-
I'd agree with that, I only bring it up as I just realize that battles with nothing but undead can simply be auto-rolled once all the free-hits can be tanked and the clerics can sweep everything else up.
-
In case I forget, was there any rule about heroes that heal undead to do damage getting DAMAGE or SPECIAL DAMAGE rolls? Or does Healing count as targetting an enemy?
-
Thalion manages to strike a spark and the torch illuminates the room. The light washes over Atramor's corpse that he had found, as well as five rather corpsified figures staggering in the party's direction. "Kill... living... enslave..." "I say we go back now!" "Eh, yer right and a good number of those folks already shipped out on other quests. Not a big fan of small spaces mind you, but anything beats sittin' round here wallowin' in the free booze and watchin' villains trampsing in and out unhindered all the time. Who knows we might actually do somethin' useful. Be right back." Skrall walked down the stairs and signed up for Quest 107, noting the small reward but shrugged his shoulders none the less. Hopefully this job would at least pay. The ogre returned back upstairs to his drink "Now what's all this about shades and corpses?"
-
"Can't say I understand, most of the time I'm aimin' to avoid my own kind. Simpler that way, ya go buildin' yer hopes up as to what the "perfect" kinda folks somebody'll be and yer hopes are never fulfilled. 'tain't worth frettin' yer head over." Skrall mulled over his last statement, but deciding he couldn't take it back, tried to change subjects. "The quest payin' any good?"
-
Thanks all, it's kind of why I'm aiming for a 3 week quest. Being on a quest and QMing one doesn't leave a whole lot of free time on my hands. Edit: Also next update is a large one, so it won't be up till tonight 108'ers.
-
Atramor searches the body and notes the symbol of the Paladin order on the cloak. The regulator finds a usable spear and on further searching a set of flint and steel. Anointed Spear: WP 5, damages Undead. Flint and Steel: Useful for lighting fires.
-
"So yer goin' back under there. Any idea what yer expectin?"
-
Thalion walks a little before finding a wall, he continues forward and finds a torch set into a pylon. Pheles Kris gives off a slight glow and Atramor notice an armored body laying in a pool of blood in front of him.
-
Atramor walks a few feet before stumbling over something laying on the ground. The Regulator picks himself up and notes something sticky and metallic smelling on his hands.
-
Thalian, also notes that his bag is empty! The party does note that they are still holding their weapons and their equipped artifacts. "One of you mages want to make us some light?"
-
"Yes I'm coming, sorry Master Alchemist, but I don't think you'll be getting paid this week." With that both Ratabor and Atramor step onto the portal and vanish, landing with the rest of the party in utter darkness . Heckz looks in his bag for his Diamond he had just received from Thalion, but finds his bag empty!

Give Skrall a little time to care about going on Hybros's quest. Granted I'd be very low involvement the 2nd to last week in August due to being on a honeymoon.
