  1. "Her name is Mogwin, apprentice necromancer, and I am Aroosie, librarian. As for the swords, perhaps Mogwin would like to explain." "Explaining won't change a thing and you know it Cherubian, doesn't matter how these idiots got in here, they're only going to die too. So tell me what door has it?" "Just because you keep the company of U'reeves hardly proves that you are trustworthy, friend. Just as Mogwin here is now in U'reeve's company and I can easily inform you that she is anything but trustworthy."
  2. QM Note: It wasn't. Atramor arranges the pieces in a half-hazard manner and actually gets the mechanism to start turning albeit with a rather loud and rasping grinding. The noise alerts the crowd of undead, but not before the party can slip inside the library and close the door behind them. The party finds themselves in a small room, right in the middle of a heated conversation. "Sod it Aroosie, we're going to die in here anyways, now tell me what door it's in!"
  3. "I'm looking for an ogre, Skrull of Heroica Hall, or something like that. Why do you know him?"
  4. QM Note: Technically this is a valid solution, but I should have made it clearer earlier and I really should have built this to scale to make it easier on you guys, but you need to use all the pieces. You're close though. The mechanism does not budge. Atramor discovers he has an extra axle and extra 16 teeth gear left over that still should fit somewhere.
  5. QM Note: Don't worry, they aren't. "Perhaps if we stuck more than one gear on each axle? Any ideas gentlemen?"
  6. QM Note: It is solvable with just math, but a model definitely might be helpful.
  7. Both CMP and I are already on other quests, but it wouldn't be too much issue to post the picture. I generally try to include the character whose voice I'm speaking in, but I could see it being confusing for a casual reader.
  8. "I'll have the same as the lady." Skrall hung back, obviously out of the group he was the most unfamiliar with their surroundings apart from perhaps the warden.
  9. Not the reference I was going for, but the shoe fits.
  10. So is there any real story in LoL or is it mainly a brawler, I.e. do the characters get developed?
  11. Yep, first half of my inspiration, you'll have to watch her to get the second. Isn't Annie some sort of fire witch? I've never played the game so not too clear on it, but yes Evoker is in Polly's future.
  12. I had a few NPC's that I considered playing as, but since they've already got lives of their own that can and have been built upon by other QM's already, I'd rather start with someone new and keep my NPC's open for public use.
  13. "Valhrasl?" Polly looked confusedly at her stuffed bear, before answering matter-of-factly "I saw a sign posted with a bounty for some Ogre of Heroica Hall, failure to pay child-support and debts or something like that, so here I am. Like I said, if he isn't a magic user, all I have to do is avoid direct combat with him, and he's good for the taking." So saying Polly pulled out an Amethyst and polished the gem with the hem of her cloak. Polly glanced upwards at the tall man, he was tough looking and menacing but she stood her ground, "I just told her, I'm looking for an Ogre and no, this isn't the wrong address. Besides me and... and...." She looks at Midrune for a name, "her were talking and it's not nice to interrupt people." Polly whispers to her bear, "Especially if you smell like a trash lizard."
  14. Ah, you found the first half of my inspiration. I've never played LoL, but some of the hero art does wonders for the imagination.
  15. "Oh, well as long as this Ogre doesn't use magic, I'll be ready for him." Polly grinned and thought for a moment, "Say, you seem to know plenty about Ogres, perhaps you could help me out. I'd give you thir... no twen..." The little girl starts to count on her fingers. "Ten percent of the bounty!"
  16. QM Note: Yep, 1 rotation equals 20 rotations.
  17. Just a girl and her teddy

  18. "Well not in person, but I've seen a picture." Polly paused for a moment before her eyes narrowed. "Hey, if you think you can take my bounty..."
  19. True, but I was more concerned with the type of puzzle (i.e. a math one) rather than the plausibility. Good point though.
  20. The thing is whether or not you give experience to the person who solves it (which is generally time-zone dependent) or do you give it to the whole party? I'd love to give experience for puzzles and have in the past, the issue is with making things balanced. Battles at least grant everybody the opportunity for experience.
  21. "Well. Well. Well. I'm actually nine." Polly seemed a little agitated, axe or no axe, she wasn't going to be talked down to. "Besides, I've already made it a whole week away from home. And. And. And. I'm just here for the Ogre, once I take him in, I'll be out of this place and have plenty of gold to keep me going."
  22. I knew something didn't seem right. And yes, I'm looking forward to seeing the secondary characters and the wackiness that will ensue.
  23. Polly, for that was the little girl's name, looked up at the barbarian with the rather large axe and gave a slight shiver. She whispered to her stuffed bear, before addressing the orc. "Don't worry Mr. Sanders, I can handle this." "This is Heroica Hall isn't it? What makes you think I'm in the wrong place? Couldn't I say the same about you?"
  24. The doors to Heroica Hall opened ever so slightly as a cloaked human girl stepped into the entrance. The girl made her way up the stairs, eyes slightly wide taking in the wonder of the place. The girl wasn't much to look at, hair cut short, plenty of freckles, clothed in dark traveling clothes, and a worn ragged teddy bear in tow. If one looked closely one could have sworn that a much larger figure shimmered and appeared to follow the bear, but it could have simply been a trick of the light. The girl made her way to the bar and inquired of the barkeeper in a chipper voice. "Excuse me Mam. There wouldn't happen to be an Ogre that frequents this place, would there? I'm here to collect a bounty."
