  1. Sorry 132 Questers, work and other commitments have been keeping me busy, expect an update in 24 hrs.
  2. The attendant handed the duo a stack of forms. "Genealogies and such information can be located in the archives, two floors below this one."
  3. "Well truth be told, ore production has been a little low as of late, prices have tended to go up, but we're still making our fair share."
  4. Skrall fires at the Mountain Goats again from the back row with his bow.
  5. "By Orrik's bulging biceps, she's right. I thank you Miss. Since you're a stranger to Brumpknob allow me to extend a warm welcome to you, I'm the owner of the local inn, The Rusty Mine Cart, mention to the bellhop that Mr. Stoute sent you and he'll see about setting you up with a free room for the night." "If you're quite finished Mr. Stoute, I believe we have quite a line. What was your request, Miss? Oh yes, you wish to deposit some remains here, I assume you have the proper paper-work, genealogies, and such?" Dumora rolls her eyes once more. A few of the dwarves chuckle at Nur's paltry gifts, but the head Dwarf continues to smile. "Thank you my friend, they are fitting gifts and I gladly accept them. If you're looking for a smithy you've come to the best one in town, my name's Odmin Ironfoot. We all do plenty of work in mythril down here, but if you're lady is partial to fine craftsmanship, she won't find any better armor in all of the under-mountain. Like I always say, the best offense is a good defense, let your enemy wear himself out on your impenetrableness before you finish him off." Atramor steps outside the workshop, the street is lined with houses and at one end Atramor notes what must be the temple of Orirk.
  6. The group paused to look at the visitors interrupting their merriment, but the Dwarf at the groups center of attention smiles. "Ah, well better mine than my brother. Get this man a drink and his lovely lady as well. Actually another drink for all of you, it has been a wonderful year and here's to many more." The group cheers again as they welcome Nur and Tesni into their midst. "So where do you come from, my fine friends? Tis not everyday that a humble smith receives such eloquent guests to his birthday celebration." "Or good looking..." The old dwarf smiles at Tesni. Ellaria makes her way to the front of the line where a portly dwarf is arguing with the attendant. "No, I can't be placed next to her. She married a Codwell." "I'm sorry sir, but you're not giving me any options here." The portly dwarf frowns at Ellaria. "This imbecile can't seem to get it through his thick skull how simple my request actually is." "Actually it's not quite so simple, sir we have four crypts allotted to your family, lain next to each other left to right." "I know and if you'd listen to me, you'd see how you're unnecessarily complicating things, now: - I want to be laid to rest on an end of our section (either left or right) only if Aunt Agatha is next to me - Aunt Agatha doesn't want to be laid next my sister Helena nor laid on the right end of our section. - Helena doesn't want to be next to me if she's on an end of our section. - Uncle Reynold wants to be next Aunt Agatha or not next to me, and if he isn't on the left end of our section he wants to be on the right end of our section. Now isn't this clear?"
  7. Tensi heads for the nearest sounds of hammers and on her way, bumps into Nur. Nur prepares to enter Odin's Smithy when he bumps into Tesni. The pair open the door to the forge to the sound of singing and cheering from within. "...for he's a jolly good fellow and nobody can deny..."
  8. Because witches aren't supposed to be in the thick of battle.
  9. Darn it, Skrall's never going to get any reputation with the factions.
  10. OoC: Stunned specifies the target loses it's next turn not "action", so players don't get to specify anything aside from a battle order. Skrall repeats.
  11. QM Note: Smithy will be up tonight. "The Babaleth Darklands, I have a cousin whom lives down here. Apparently the Dwarf doesn't want to be placed next to certain relatives of his family, I do wish someone with some sense would step in, their bickering does take away from the atmosphere of the place."
  12. OoC: I'm assuming you rolled for Skrall's Special Guard? Skrall does nothing.
  13. I like the idea of inflicting effects on oneself to inflict them on others, however I feel the entire class could be relegated to an artifact that lets ether users inflict the negative effects they are currently affected with. i.e. Cursed Cloak of Contagions - The wearer's spells inflict the negative effects the wearer currently has. Backwear, suitable to Mages, Necromancers, Weather-mages, and Scholars. Which brings up an idea for Cleric classes. Blessed Belt of Bolstering - The wearer's healing gives the positive effects the wearer currently has. Torsowear, suitable to Clerics and Chi-monks.
  14. The Mind-flayer smiles, though the movement of his tentacles could mean any number of things as a soft voice flits through Ellaria's consciousness. "Oh I wouldn't call it a rush, that chap in front there has been here for nearly two hours arguing with the attendant over burial locations, can't seem to find one that works for him apparently, rather picky if you ask me. Couldn't tell you when would be a good time though, I'm afraid. A bit of a tourist myself. Isn't this stonework amazing, did you know this entire structure is composed of one gigantic diamond?" "Straight other side of this building is where you'll find the armory. As for my brother, Figgle, he's dark-skinned, black beard, hard to miss him. He was adopted at a young age, found by mom and dad wandering in the tunnels." Tesni finds herself alone on the outskirts of Brumpknob, her companions apparently all going their separate ways.
  15. QM Note: Fixed. Dumora rolls her eyes. "Yes and no, I'm a vindicator of Mythra which makes my standings a little below those of Orik and thus not quite as popular around here. Besides, The Glittering is for the dead and thus they see no need to hurry."
  16. "It makes plenty of sense and if you mean by way of saying you'd like a full alchemical analysis on the origination of the owner of this kidney stone, well then you should have simply said so, or at least thought so." The Mind-flayer snatches up the Kidney Stone and while swirling his potion in one hand plops the nephrological mass into a beaker of blue fluid. After a matter of minutes the alchemist removes the stone with a pair of tongs and hands it back to Atramor. "Basalt, unmistakable and quite boring. What I wouldn't have given for some Mylonite. What were you planning on doing with it?"
  17. QM Note: Sandy feel free to separate the loot from the previous battle retroactively. "You heard correctly, though that's somewhat surprising considering the current racket." The voice pauses and seeing that Atramor remains standing there the alchemist continues. "It's for the filtration of the golem's equivalent of a blood-stream of course and ergo came from a golem. Some individuals like to turn them into crass tools for sharpening things. Anything else?" The mind-flayer turns back to the concoction he was mixing.
  18. Ellaria and Dumora push past the merchant and continue on their way. As they approach The Glittering, Ellaria can see that the structure is aptly named. The gigantic polished exterior reflects nearly every light within the cavern in a dazzling display of color. Inside the duo find a long queue and after nearly an hour of waiting, the line has still yet to move. The Dwarf at the counter places Nur's purchases in a brown paper bag and hands them to the mage. "I doubt it, we don't do deliveries very far outside the city. He left this morning to drop off a cake for Odmin Grindwheel's birthday celebration, but that was nearly three hours ago and it's only a fifteen minute walk." "Ten if he had Samwerk's legs. Why Dwarfs have silly short legs?"
  19. Skrall draws another arrow back and fires again.
  20. Technically they're just alternate names for each other. Nothing stopping us from separating them into two different races, I'm more for simple subspecies though, keeps them culturally similar and the same feel of unease.
  21. "No, no, no, these are how do you say? Souvenirs. Besides I don't stock the idol ones. Here, here, take a free sample." Pristine Doll - Causes the Hexed-effect to one Light enemy, making it act against an ally instead of the heroes for one turn. Has 1/6 chance to break whenever used. "Want to buy more?" Vilad Leatherwing's Drandorian Voodoo Dolls: Singed Doll - Causes the Hexed-effect to one Fiery enemy, making it act against an ally instead of the heroes for one turn. Has 1/6 chance to break whenever used. Costs 50 gold. Soaked Doll - Causes the Hexed-effect to one Aquatic enemy, making it act against an ally instead of the heroes for one turn. Has 1/6 chance to break whenever used. Costs 50 gold.
  22. The most evil race in fantasy pop-culture history is near extinct? Sorry, I had Hava already set before 125's big reveal. From a retcon strategy, I'm thinking there can just be two subraces, the more powerful, rare, and long-lived Greater Mind-flayers (like Baba) and the more populous but less dangerous Lesser Mind-flayers. That would at least explain their difference in powers and appearances.
  23. Kog indicates a back corner of the workshop surrounded by test-tubes, vials, tomes, lab notes, and alchemical equipment. "TAKE CARE NOT TO KNOCK ANYTHING OVER, WE JUST HAD THAT FAR WALL REBUILT NOT THREE DAYS AGO." As Atramor approaches he notes the odd combination of odors filling his nose, acrid, sweet, and savory all at the same time. Shrouded in black robes the alchemist turns and the Mind-flayer's voice echos in Atramor's head once again. "How dull."
  24. Glad they're being enjoyed, this quest has been one of my favorite to build sets for. I really wanted to give the under-mountain a feeling of establishment, like these cities have been here for awhile. There's a lot of details put into the scenes for the Party to interact with if they choose.
