Congratulations! So that gives me motivation for future instruction projects. And there were no errors? And you're right, arrows are a big help in complex technic creations. My intention is to make instructions as clear as possible for everybody, often I'd make mistakes in some other's MOC's because of missing arrows. The final instruction version I'll publish soon, I've made separate electric and mechanical schemes to document which motor belongs to which function. And for the wire cabling I've made photos while disassembling the model. I hope it will be also a help. Just to note: disassembling you have to do the steps backwards. But even following this some parts are very difficult to remove. I had to sacrifice to pins and one axle. But anyway: It's a very impressive MOC, IMHO the best excavator model. But it was too my biggest challenge, not only for the instructions, also in building! You have to be very careful to place the parts correctly, otherwise you risk to disassemble a big part to remove the part from the wrong place. Myself I'd placed a thin lift arm with the wrong hole on the pins, and I'd to disassemble half of the superstructure! Now to the problem with the ladder motor: The connection was correct. But it does not work with RC. But connected directly to the battery, it works! So I don't know whats with the motor.... Greetings Alex

Outstanding construction The best braiding machine I've ever seen. Does there exist any LDD/LDRAW file Greetings Alex- 37 replies

Thanks I know that the electrical wiring placement is very to document, I don't know how to implant it in the instructions that everybody can follow it . I think about following possibilities: - taking Sheo's LDD pictures with the wire tracings (difficult to follow) - taking the photos from Therion (maybe uncomplete?) Whatever, I maybe had made an connection error with the m-motor for the ladder, it doesn't work. I've made now separate electrical/mechanical schemes for the Subtractor (drive/steering), boom, engines/lights, slew/ladder, and a electrical parts scheme in separate colors. I'll add them in the next instruction update, it's a lot easier to follow and you know which motor is for which function. In the instructions the ladder motor seems to be correct. Whatever, I've to dismantle the superstructure partially to know what's the motor problem. Or I dismantle it complete to make photos from the electrical wiring. But before doing this, I've to take some more photos. Please see regular in this topic, I'll make updates whenever I add new information in the instructions. Greetings Alex

Tools you use
afol1969 replied to nerdsforprez's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
For pushing 1/2 pins and axle pins out, I use a cross axle. To place electrical wires in small place, sometimes I use a paper knife or a match. For plates a brick separator. I never use sharp metal tools or my teeth. The old black technic pins without slots you often cannot remove them without damage. I remove them with a plier and throw them away. For making tired parts shining, I get good results with alu polish from a car shop. Greetings Alex -
Hi, Hans-Peter, Thanks for the information. I'll check this. And I'll upload an update soon, when I'm finished with the arrows at each step. And I know, where I've forgotten the gears; They belong to the base when connected to the superstructure. Update 23.12.2015: Files for download see post #331 Arrows, notes and some more errors corrected. So everybody can build it now . A final version with electrical connections informations will follow within next month. Greetings Alex

Manitou Telehandler
afol1969 replied to Jurgen Krooshoop's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Hi Jurgen, Great to hear news from you - with a impressive MOC! The electrical scheme looks really complex, so a must-build for me I think I've 90% of the necessary parts. Greetings Alex -
Hi Afolegofan66, Great that you build the MOC, it would me help very much to control the instructions from errors or other problems. I regulary update the instructions if necessary. Now I've uploaded them on Bricksafe, Because of the big size I'd to split the file in 2 Zip files: http://www.bricksafe.../TerexTH400.zip http://www.bricksafe.../TerexTH400.z01 Update: 23.12.2015 Contains now arrows and notations. There are now part lists and the electrical scheme included. And here the latest LDRAW file: http://www.bricksafe.../TerexTH400.mpd And still the electrical parts to document.... Happy building Alex

Manias in building?
afol1969 replied to jorgeopesi's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Same here. At the moment I'm sorting all the grey parts by separating in DG/DBG and LG/LBG. I have some rare older sets, and want to have assembled them in original parts, I hate mixing the old/new grey colors. To see the color difference, an can do the sorting only in clear day light, from late morning to late afternoon. It's nearly impossible to see the color difference in artificial light. Greetings Alex -
Hi all, Finally I can present you a first impression of the instructions. There are more than 300 pages, an the file has >205mb, so even I compress it, I cannot upload it on Bricksafe (file too large), so I can only give the link in my dropbox: ***UPDATE*** 10.12.2015 : Now with part lists and electrical scheme PDF file: https://www.dropbox.com/s/uznj7l2jhombeph/TerexTH400.pdf?dl=0 LDRAW file here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/djg2ax66e977tch/TerexTH400.mpd?dl=0 There is still some work to do especially the tracing of the electrical wires, notes, etc. But the step/part order is accurate, and with some help of Sheo's LFX instructions, you can build it. Any suggestions which I can add to the instructions are welcome Greetings Alex

I cannot build it either, but I've made some instruction pages for testing. The stepping is well made, so if wanted, I can make the instructions at least that the steps are clear enough to build it for everybody. Especially there's a lot of rotation angles to do to see all parts where they belong. Greetings Alex

Awsome! A big project you've started, blakbird That will surely take a lot of effort and time so I very appreciate it. Even if I cannot build the modules in future because a lack of parts, if you need some support, I can do it, like converting LDD file, creating or stepping a CAD file. Greetings Alex

Absolut phantastic!!! Sheo, you have a rival! Incredible work to create a MOC like this. And many thanks to blakbird for the instructions work. Surely it will be on my build list.....but I've still lots of parts to buy, I don't have much of green ones. Or I'll build it in an alternative color.... Greetings Alex

Hi, Ingmar, Just to say: All models are excellent which combine the best of Model Team an Technic. I'd like to build all of them, but I'll never stop by bricklinking parts..... Greetings Alex
