Hi Ingmar, The links don't work, but I've found your trailer at Rebrickable. Just to say: Great work, the design of the trailer looks very well. Especially the mix blue/grey/red makes it different from other common technic sets. It goes perfect with your Truck T2 MKII. If I would build it, first I've to buy 50% of the necessary parts, I'm very poor on blue parts. But my lego collection always grows.... Greetings Alex

What the hell....? That will be a giant model! I'm looking forward to your finished project, and thanks to make instructions! Happy building Alex -
I understand Juhlengos' intention; There are many people who has motorized the 8043 in different ways, and with Jurgens' Ultimate 8043 wher you have instructions with, everybody can motorize it. The 42006 is smaller, so it's a challenge to find a way not to change the design too much. There's no place for 6 motors, so how to modify to get all 6 functions motorized? The solution is shown in the video with a shifter and a complex gear drive - that's why it would be interesting to have instructions. Ok, you find other videos from motorized 42006, but this is something special :) Greetings Alex

As it is an interesting mod, I think that's not only me who ist interested in instructions. But I know that making them need lot of time, and most people don't have this time. I have a family too and not always time, but I've a lot of fun in creating instructions, so even if you have a quick rudimentary lfx file, and if I can build up the mod successfully, I can made instructions in MLCAD and publish a PDF file. After some big projects, I'm experienced enough to make Instructions in rather short time. Greetings Alex

Hi all, As I already announced, I've finally finished to transfer Jurgens' instructions in an MLCAD Version. It was a hard and complex work, but I'm happy with the results. Maybe the instructions are not so perfect than other Technic freaks with more experiences, (I'm not common with LSynth), I've used my own way to create the PDF files. First I exported all pictures to see what to change, for text notes and arrows etc. I use ACDSee 6, wich can create easily PDF files. As so far the first version: https://www.dropbox....timate 8043.mpd https://www.dropbox.... 8043_Ver.2.pdf A second and final Version will follow if I've found errors or other changes to do, Suggestions and hints are welcome :) Best Greetings Alex

Hi Matrosov, Same problem here, the front outtriggers do not float by the motor, I must extend them by hand. Maybe I've simply forgotten one gear. If I've time, I'll dimantle the 42009 too to find what's wrong. Or Jurgen had made an instruction error, but I don't think that. Greetings Alex -
I think, bricklinking the set would be more expensive. I've got the 8275 for 150€, used, but in perfect condition. And I'm happy with the deal so far. Gretings Alex

[MOD] 8285 with trailer
afol1969 replied to ed-orange's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Wow! That's amazing! Very beautiful work, you have my respect. Greetings Alex -
There are no differences (only the tiles and some more pins), it's a copy from Jurgens' photo instructions. As I would build his version, I'd made some errors, so I partially had to dismantle it before I finally finished it. Some steps were not very clear to follow - for me. And as I found the original 8043 MLCAD file from Strikeman, I decided to modify it to Jurgens' Ultimate Version. It was a good exercise for me to get common with MLCAD. And yes, I've the flex hoses too in the instructions, but this file was made on an other Computer where LSynth isn't installed. Greetings Alex

Just for note: During next week I'll publish an MLCAD Version of Jurgens' Ultimate Excavator. There will be a full part list included. Jurgen gave me some tips to make some corrections an notes to do, then I'll make the first version (PDF file) online. As I don't have the time to dismantle an rebuild the excavator, so I need information if there are some errors or something unclear in the instructions, that I can publish a second and final version. Here a first impression: Best greetings Alex

afol1969 replied to afol1969's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Hi matrosov, No, I haven't planned to build the motorized B-Model. I just finished the instructions for an extended 42009 crane boom, and in further time I'll publish the Ldraw version of Jurgen's Ultimate 8043 Excavator Instructions. So I've a lot of work, and in two weeks I have an exposition of the 12V blue era Lego trains, and I'm a full-time job to prepare all. But later I'll have more time again, my next plannings for future projects are a rotating grapple for the 9397 (with autovalve), a trailer for the Unimog and a motorized spider. All this with instructions. Best Greetings Alex -
42009 Extended Boom
afol1969 replied to afol1969's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Exactly. But thanks for your information, that gives me information to find a solution. Maybe the problem could be solved by a second gear, but that will give some more friction. I have to test it. Greetings Alex -

42009 Extended Boom
afol1969 replied to afol1969's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Hi Balrog, The full lenght of the extended boom is 105cm. But it's rather stable, more than the boom in Han's 8421xl. It's just the 2nd segment wich bends a little from the first segment, if fully extended. But in general panels give more stiffness than beams/technic bricks, and there is no bending. I haven't tried it, but maybe you can get more stiffness if you use the older black long pins with friction. But you need more counterweight, that's why I connected a second BB, and used some more beams to stabilize the slew construction. For the cable inside the boom I used the original hook cable, for the hook drive I used a more fine cable for easier driving. How to attach the cable, is shown in the instructions. And it's not necessary to use the 10 hole panels, the 4 hole panels can be used as well. This note you'll find in the instructions too. Greetings Alex (sorry for my bad english) -
42009 Extended Boom
afol1969 replied to afol1969's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
The boom doesn't depend on the construction of the crane base, so it can be built in the Ultimate 42009: Greetings Alex -
Hi all, I've got the LFX file from a member of the french Technic Forum (www.techlug.fr) for an extended 42009 boom. But as the step order isn't very clear (I had to dismantle the boom two times to place the right parts), I've recreated the instructions with MLCAD, and here are the results: https://www.dropbox..../Boom 42009.mpd https://www.dropbox..../Boom 42009.pdf Feel free to build and give me information if the instructions contain any errors. Best Greetings Alex

@markus53: Thank you very much for the ldraw file. I really appreciate if technic freaks sharee their instructions, I myself know that it needs lot of time and patience to create instructions. Best greetings Alex

Full RC Logging Truck 9397
afol1969 replied to afol1969's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Edit: I've checked the mpd file. It's correct, there are 10 wheels, because of the double wheel rear.Generally most parts are from the original truck itself, you just must compare wich parts are extra parts. But the most expensive parts are the motors, of course. But it's not nessessary to make double wheels, I've made it because of the better design. Greetings Alex PS: It's not really needed to take parts in exact colours shown in the instructions, for example, if you don't have the parts in light or dark grey, you can take them in black or so.. I use too my maximum of possibility to avoid buying parts. -
Full RC Logging Truck 9397
afol1969 replied to afol1969's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Hi matrosov, Thank you for your feedback. For the parts, they belong to the motors/receivers and cable extensions. So two parts in light and dark grey belong to the PF extension wire 8886, and 9 parts belong to the motors and receivers. Here the link for the wire: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=60656 Hope this helps you. As I still don't know all MLCAD functions, I'm not able to create the PF parts with cable ends, for that you must use LSynth. And I have not really idea to work with ist, because it takes too much time for presentable results. I'm happy with my instruction results, and I think, most technic freaks don't have difficulties to understand my instructions. Surely I can do it better, but for that I must have more time to get deeper knowings. Greetings Alex -
A good idea to publish intructions for the chassis only. The instructions have nearly the same design I do it too, I make lots of callouts and much parts each step, as I recently have done it with the motorized Logging Truck. With the chassis everybody can make his own individual car body design :) Greetings Alex

That's I say too, absolutely fantastic! @D3K: Do you plan to make instructions in further time? Greetings Alex

It's done! I've finally the instructions. After eliminated last errors, I've uploaded them to my dropbox: https://www.dropbox.com/s/ytmt4nhffb5b1np/9397.mpd https://www.dropbox....1yyifx/9397.pdf Feel free to build and modify. If you still find errors or something what can be done better, please let me know. Same for the real names from Han and Sunnykoomos, that I can change it on the cover page. Best greetings Alex
