Hey, if they can make a TIE Crawler...

Not sure if I'm allowed to do this, but... has anyone seen this? There are various good points and various inaccuracies. Overall, it looks pretty good. It's got some nice greebling.

I believe KielDaMan is our Neo-Clone Wars screenshot expert: he should have some pictures. -

Well, if it allows for spin-offs (read, more merchandise) I'm sure Lucas would allow it. "Merchandising! Merchandising! Where the real money from the movie is made." -

It would depend on when he's there. During the early Clone Wars (Chapters 1-21), probably a Consular. During the Neo-Clone Wars ('08 series), either the Nu, T-6, or Eta. During the Outer Rim Sieges (Chapters 22-25), the Theta. -
There were pictures of the minifigures available before the picture of the set. But:

Star Wars: The Clone Wars: season 3 discussion

Glad there are no hard feelings. Of course, it's also possible that this 'exciting climax' could be Ahsoka's fate. I wasn't kidding when I said I thought she would turn to the dark side, because that is how things seem to be going. I didn't know people still believed that. -
You'll find that ditching typical parts that LEGO uses does you a world of good. I scrapped the 8L cannon pieces on my X-wing and it looks a lot better now. The same could be said for the canopy piece of the Lambda shuttle.

It could make sense, as he's obviously not an 8-year old. (By the way, thanks for taking my idea into consideration.)

Typical Neo-Clone Wars, recycling designs. That too, but the bridge of the Imperial II-class has the large triangular windows with the crew pits (as seen on the Avenger in Empire) while the bridge of the Imperial I has a square viewport (as seen on the Devastator). If you read my review on 8099 you'll find I noted that 8099 has the bridge of an Imperial II-class but six batteries like an Imperial I (but no ion cannon, which is strange).

Nah; at least, not within the films. For an Alliance capital ship, what better than the Redemption? Dr. Evazan. Don't forget Ponda Baba (Walrus Man). Agreed. The midi-scale had so much potential. For the Alliance you could probably throw in the CR90 as well. I wish the same could be said for the Republic and the Dreadnaught (as well as any of the ships from the KOTOR games). I'd say the Hardcell is pretty recognizable, though the Diamond really isn't (I can imagine kids going, "Hey, it's a giant T-6 Jedi Shuttle!"). Wookieepedia says: So it's really both. Within the Imperator-class there are the Imperial I and Imperial II subclasses, with the primary distinguishing factor being features of their bridge towers. The EF76 was originally an Imperial ship but we know the Redemption as an Alliance ship. On the contrary, I'd say the Immobilizer is just as famous as the Victory, and the Thrawn Trilogy is better known than the Han Solo Adventures series. Do we even know what a Mandator looks like?

Star Wars Miniland to come in LEGOLand California

So much new stuff... AT-TE! Lambda shuttles! Gungas! LAAT/is! And a pretty decent-looking AT-AP! These larger models are turning out a lot nicer than the T-47 and X-wing did. Yes, one reason why most UCS sets have such great parts-to-price ratios. -

Yeah, I guess. I mean, the line 'I am your father' is the result of a retcon, and the Star Wars movies themselves are famous for having so many retcons. Eh, whatever... -
As I said, the design is essentially the same as that of 7660 so I don't think it's any less blocky. Unless you mean the original 7141, which is considered by many AFOLs to be one of the worst sets ever. I think it's really a case-by-case basis. The ones before '08 were just terrible but they seem to have improved since then. I remember that the new Falcon had at least four, and the fact that they are pretty much slapped on with no attempt to integrate them with the actual design was what bothered me. Still, the kids seem to like it; I remember when I had guests over and one of the kids were playing with my 7670, and she just kept on flicking those missiles.

Star Wars: The Clone Wars: season 3 discussion

Okay guys, I think I owe everyone here an apology for being overly anal about The Clone Wars. Artanis I is right, it really doesn't matter all that much. I personally just don't like retcons in general, consequential or otherwise, but I guess since the Republic comics (and certainly the Expanded Universe books) aren't technically part of Lucas' universe no "real" retcons have been made. Besides, when you get right down to it George's story is the Original Trilogy and the rest is for the fanboys who wanted more. (And of course they got it.) I'll just wash my hands of this now... To go off what brickartist said, I personally think that since the Neo-Clone Wars takes place within the approximated six-month montage in the '03 series it would make sense to end the series with the invasion of Bomis Koori IV as seen in the beginning of Chapter 22. This would not only allow the series to fit within the timeline of the '03 series (as was probably intended) but go out with a bang. And seeing as we saw next to nothing of the invasion in the '03 series... no retcons! -
Some pictures would help, as some of us here aren't sure what you're trying to achieve.

Really? I don't recall seeing it anywhere in the films. Well, the helmet... -

I don't think we were ever saying that it was flawless. The idea that the Alliance could have won is quite possible, even if the fine bits aren't. Besides, I don't really hold logical errors against the Prequels either. (At least, not at present.) Maybe brickartist is right; I don't know how many times the Yavin playset, midi-scale Executor, and EF76 have been mentioned. But hey, if LEGO sees it enough times maybe they'll remember to make it into a set.

LEGO Star Wars III: The Clone Wars

Mass Shadow Generator, Eye of Palpatine, Sovereign-class, Yo'Gand's Core... If you mean the HMP, I'm fairly certain it was seen on Kashyyyk in Sith. Strange that they would put the new clones in a set based on a vehicle from the movies. -
Perhaps you could do something like this, but with round bricks?

I never did understand how the upper half of the droideka from 7662 was supposed to look like the source material... It's probably done that way so they can keep the 'Artoo ramp' play feature. It doesn't look all that great, nor is it particularly accurate, but... it's a toy. The implications of your first sentence appears to clash with the message of the second one. As for the second statement... I think the area around the cockpit is too boxy, and the wings don't appear to sag the way they're supposed to. The 'chrome' portions of the engines could be a bit longer, and I think somebody said that 6x12 wings aren't very close to the correct angle. Still, I'd say it's pretty good by LEGO's standards. X-wing of the Prequels, indeed...

Agreed, though it appears that the Malevolence has gained some reputation; but I suppose you can add that to the list of forgotten superweapons along with the Orbital Nightcloak, World Devastators, the Galaxy Gun, the Sun Crusher, and Darksaber. Dathomir to Lehon to Felucia. Courtship came nearly a decade before KOTOR. The idea of Ryloth as a 'new planet' strikes me as somewhat comical. It hasn't? Then 7679 is actually an Expanded Universe set? (It came with the new clones, so I assumed the TX-130 had already made its appearance in the series.) EDIT: Hey, Ryloth rotates now! Interesting... -
Yeah, I'm expecting flick-fires on the bottom of this thing.

Here's some solid reference. Secondhand schematics are all right, but they're usually flawed. The shape of the nose is much better, but I think the ball cockpit needs some work. Here's one way to approximate a sphere in LEGO. You could probably do more in the rear if you were to scrap the printed TIE piece entirely. (It's not too accurate, anyway.)
