  1. When did Brickdoctor become so esteemed...?
  2. The fact alone that you could buy this and this but not this set really says a lot about how bad it is.
  3. Right. At least one person is listening to us. Dirty white. But as with the X-wing and the Y-wing, LEGO white is too clean, so gray fits the look better. Regarding the bit about the 33 slope bricks for the repulsor drive units, another alternative if siseon were to move the slope brick on the outside inward such that the flat area is two studs in width. Of course, this would require him to omit the braking flaps, but you can't really capture them accurately at this scale anyway... and it would certainly look better than having a large blocky area sticking out from under the wing.
  4. But that was a high-altitude battle, not a space battle... So it appears that the game spans a rather large period of time (of the aforementioned six months, that is...) multiple seasons? Or is it just the first?
  5. Darn facebook, making us waste all of our time... Just Flail it and it should be all right...
  6. Let's see, there really are too many things, but here are a few I can think of: - Anakin should be a GREAT PILOT when he meets Obi-wan. - Get rid of midi-chlorians, the Prophecy, and the Chosen One - Jedi are Jedi. - Have an enemy that the Galactic Republic would actually be afraid of rather than battle droids which are just a joke. On top of that, real soldiers (perhaps a volunteer army or something) rather than disposable clones - in other words, make the Clone Wars something ordinary people would care about - Scrap all this Trade Federation stuff that isn't even explained and just start off with the Confederacy being separate from the Republic. - Don't Americanize intergalactic space politics (two terms?) and don't say Jedi and Senators can't marry because nothing really stopped either of them. - No non-Jedi character should use a lightsaber; Force lightning works just fine for Dark Jedi. Joruus C'baoth certainly didn't need a lightsaber, nor did the Emperor. - Yoda's character should be consistent with who he was in Empire - Get rid of the Gungas - what's the point? - Get rid of Threepio and Artoo - they had nothing to do with anybody during this time period. - Obi-wan should at least act like he and Anakin are friends. - The Old Republic has stood for a thousand generations under the guidance of the Jedi Knights Yeah, yeah, yea - what? Episode I the best of the Prequels? Explain (in the other thread, that is).
  7. Mm*. *Hey Brickdoctor, brickartist, maybe this is actually pointless and nobody really cares about how that area looks except for us...
  8. Oh man... Actually, I liked this so much that I still have it. Compare: Version 1: Version 8:
  9. Yeah, that's part of what I meant by simpler gameplay. Taking out those features means you can pretty much just walk around smashing the attack button (which of course is boring). And I thought the first LEGO game was easy. If the first game was for the target audience (8-year-olds) this one must be for the ones who don't know the Prequels or even how to properly play a video game (5-year olds). But whatever - I know I played a fair share of Nintendo in my kindergarten days. Jedi Crash... was that the one with Aayla Secura?
  10. Please calm down; your post is hard to read. You can discuss Jedi in the Culture & Multimedia subforum. So how exactly does Vader "[see] the way of the Jedi"? Chucking the Emperor down a chute just confirms what he said in Empire about wanting to rule the galaxy with Luke. You watched them in the wrong order; Jedi is the third film, Sith the last. If you watch them in "chronological" order much of the magic of the Original Trilogy is lost and you're stuck with all this garbage about midi-chlorians and the Chosen One. While it's certainly not a SCREAMING issue to me, I do in fact think that the Scimitar should be a very smooth ship just like everything else in Menace. The Scimitar isn't exactly the most beat-up ship in the saga; on the contrary, it's rather clean. I suppose that the studs on the nose do detract from that, but it's LEGO so I'm not too concerned. A SNOT nose would have been quite interesting though. The N-1 is a confirmed set; it's just that for whatever reason we haven't seen pictures of the actual ship, just the minifigures.
  11. Surely you must be joking. Even without knowing what the actual thing looks like, I'll say that the gaps and all the exposed studs on the wings (which, being stacked plates, don't look so great from the bottom and seem too blocky) is really visually unappealing, as well as that huge gap around the big gear. The use of the engine piecees for the rear thrusters just looks lazy. And then, of course, there's the terrible price. For some reason, two sets with the same piece count have a huge difference in price. What?
  12. Complex? I'd say the principal issue is that it's built too simply (i. e. he's not taking full advantage of the increased size). And brickartist is right about the difference between MOCpages and Eurobricks. I'll add that on MOCpages most of the contributors are either a)kids whose MOCs look like garbage to us; b)adults whose MOCs look like garbage to us whereas on Eurobricks most of the contributors are AFOLs who are actually sort of serious about making their MOCs look good, though of course that's defined rather broadly (Brickdoctor, KielDaMan and I come to mind)...
  13. Wow, that new wing transition looks great. Regarding the repulsor drive units, you could at least replace the outer 33 slope brick with a 45 slope brick and then use Larry Lars' solution. Of course, it would look even better if there were a slope without the 1x2 area (something Brickdoctor pulled off nicely in his T-47, I might add) but I guess that would only be possible with SNOT wings. EDIT: It was rather stupid of me to say that. Sorry. That's explained in the last line of my signature. You did request, so... expect a PM from me soon. On the other hand, is that an X-wing I see in the background? Pictures, pictures...
  14. Why would they make the N-1 any "meatier" than it already is? Unless they're going to flesh out the bottom, I'd say they did a pretty good job of representing the thinness of the ship. A fat N-1 would just look goofy. The direction that the droid's body faces doesn't really matter, as the body remains hidden inside the ship with only the head sticking out (and apparently the head can "telescope upward"... ) and the LEGO astromech droid body isn't to scale with minifigures. Hopefully, a new droideka will make the set worth it... and perhaps chrome. And a vulture droid sold separately so it won't jack up the price. Do they even have customized fighters for every Jedi? I thought they all used the red ones... eh, I guess they will after a few more seasons of The Clone Wars. As long as they aren't all Delta-7Bs... So it is out of scale! And pretty badly at that. Of course, they probably won't be able to make it smaller because then the people who don't care about scale will complain that it's smaller...
  15. Wow, you really slimmed down the rear! Much better. If you're talking about the size, it is a bit too big, but not too bad. I think that the overall shape is a more important issue in that region. I would agree, and I did suggest more SNOT on the nose... By the way, it's 74-Z, not Z-74. Perhaps you were confused because the numbers usually come after the letter (T-65, BTL-4A, etc.) Yeah, at the moment you've got a lot of plates where you could have tiles and such. But again, I would worry about that after you've really nailed the details.
  16. Hey, hey, this isn't MOCpages. Regarding your BARC, sorry, but accuracy-wise I would have to say that brickartist's minifigure scale renditition has sort of superseded yours... not only is it more accurate in terms of size and color (what's with the green?) but the proportions on brickartist's model are closer to the CGI model than what I can see on yours (e. g. the rear section is HUGE on yours). In addition, brickartist's model includes such details as pedals, a second set of handlebars (accurately stemming from the portion just ahead of the seat), and the smaller bits that stick out from either side of the tip of the nose, all of which are absent from your model. It would be like Daniel From Sweden offering help to Bruce Lowell (I laugh at the thought)...
  17. What does that have to do with anything? I was referring to the fact that since he didn't include the angle I mentioned in the back the rear walls wouldn't slope inward, making that section fat. But yes, I was wrong - it would actually be a bit too thin near the center because the rear wall is at its thinnest width throughout rather than. But as marshal_banana said he's already compensated for it, so no real issues there.
  18. Yes, unfortunately...
  19. Don't forget this ugly thing: I never really liked the way this looked...
  20. Funny, I actually suggested the opposite. I take it then that you've never seen this. There's also this by Reto, and of course we can't forget Gareth. You're continuing the minifigure scale version? Interesting... does that mean some of your other projects (ISP, ARC-170, etc) are still in progress as well?
  21. Hey, if they thought they could get away with a CGI Falcon it could have been a lot worse... not to mention all that random junk they stuffed into the Mos Eisley scenes.
  22. Wow, the back is so detailed... isn't it kind of fat, though?
  23. I guess I should have added that I was talking about US prices. Both 10212 and 10195 were $250 in the US, 10188 was $400. I suppose with new minifigures and inflation another N-1 would be $40... unless it was smaller than 7660. How big was that, anyway? The N-1 is about 11m so a LEGO rendition should be around 36 studs in length...
  24. Oh, wait - are you sure that wasn't actually Agen Kolar? Because I know he was alive, and I'm always getting those two mixed up.
  25. Hey, come on - the same ship in a different scale is an entirely different MOC altogether. Would you say that 8017 and 10175 were similar in terms of build? Or 10174 and 7657? 7181 and 6206?
