Landing gear? The N-1 doesn't have landing gear; it just kind of hovers. LEGO had the right idea with the stand in 7660. Threepio was the main comic relief in Empire, and several of his best scenes took place on the Falcon ("Sometimes I just don't understand human behaviour...") And putting Threepio in 8129 was just pointless in my opinion. You really need either both of the droids on the Falcon or just Threepio. So what's 'this'? Do you mean the new Scimitar? And Maul's been around since the beginning of the license. Ah. I guess I forgot about that last bit, silly me. Say, how big should the bubble canopy be on the Nantex? There appears to be some inconsistency in representation. (I'm trying to determine what mods this set could benefit from, aside from the obvious reworking of the main cannon and replacement of the large brown slopes in front with tiles.)

Hey, compared to the Yuuzhan Vong Coralskipper this thing is a beaut. In any case, legostein's model is fantastic as always! (The Courtship of Princess Leia was pretty good, too - probably one of the first Expanded Universe books I ever read along with the Jedi Academy Trilogy.)

Eh, I'm still 'fallenangel327' on brickshelf. And besides, 327 is a bigger number.

Star Wars: The Clone Wars: season 3 discussion

Whoops, my bad. I guess I really shouldn't have said "stock". In any case, it's a Delta-7 as opposed to a Delta-7B. -
I seem to remember the Venator's bridge (because that's where the command center is, right?) resembling that of an Imperial-II-class Star Destroyer... I don't know. This looks an interesting experiment in greebling and tiling more than anything else, and in that aspect I'll say it looks pretty good.

Eh, it's not a contest. It's nice to see I'm not the only one taking your MOCs seriously. Besides, with the amount of constructive criticism I've given on past models, the score is really more like this: Fallen: 327* Everyone Else: 2 *See what I did there?

Oh wow, TWO UCS builds? In any case, this is pretty slick. Expect a PM from me soon...

Delta-7, not Delta-7B. Other than the location of the astromech droid socket, you can see numerous differences between the fighter shown in Sith and the Blade of Dorin which are reminiscent of differences between all stock Delta-7s and Delta-7Bs (size of laser cannons, boxier cockpit area, top fin cuts into canopy, etc). The only thing that would lead a fan in the know to confuse the two would be the starburst blue-and-white color scheme. Oh, and the directors did goof; in-universe, Koon's fighter shown on Cato Neimoidia is a stock Delta-7 with a custom paint job. -
Just throw a droideka into the mix and you've got a pretty decent battlepack.

The Water Closet... Really? I seem to remember there being several Delta-7s with starburst patterning in background shots, and I think some of the Eta-2s had some pretty neat patterns. Anakin's green Eta-2 (around 3:45-ish) and Obi-wan's blue one were certainly more interesting than Anakin's solid yellow-and-grey one he flies for a large portion of the war, and there were even some (such as Saesee Tiin's green, yellow, and grey Eta-2 - around 1:30-ish) that were multicolored. But I suppose you're right. Putting crazy patterns on the Eta-2s would just look weird. I think it's just a matter of personal preference. Actually, if you look carefully, you can see that even though a Delta-7 is shown on-screen, Plo is sitting inside an Eta-2 cockpit. Either the producers goofed or that's some weird larger variant of the Delta-7. To the first question, no. The obvious indicator that Plo's fighter in Sith is not a Delta-7B is the fact that the astromech droid socket is to one side. To the second... is that even a question? Of course it's Anakin! -
As I've already said, Artoo's body isn't even visible from the outside, so the size shouldn't make any difference as to the direction the droid is facing. Me, I'd rather they do what they did with 7915 and give us the body with the removable head so the actual ship doesn't have a big square gap in it like the last one did. And I really hope they make the N-1 smaller, as the last one (as I now know) is ridiculously oversized and therefore more expensive than it should have been. I mean, 48 studs when it should be around 36 studs... Where are you getting this? Nah. I'd say 10179 had a pretty decent number of minifigures, and a well-designed model on top of that. I wouldn't mind if this new Falcon came with only Han and Chewie if it meant it wouldn't look so terrible.

All right, so Ahsoka will turn to the Dark Side. All the better so the Jedi can employ their unreasonably uncompromising policy on Sith and have someone kill her. NO! I can already see episodes involving Outbound Flight and the Katana fleet. Maybe this means that my Trek reference will actually come true and they'll be transported to the age of the Old Republic where Ahsoka will die. -
Star Wars: The Clone Wars: season 3 discussion

What about this? Apparently Lucas' story for Grievous was that he enhanced himself because they wouldn't let him be a Jedi. Filoni spared us a retcon by keeping the Nadar Vebb episode ambiguous because he, in fact, actually respects the Expanded Universe. As for Durge, Wookieepedia says: I'm becoming increasingly convinced that Lucas doesn't know enough about his own franchise and that Filoni should take over. This is getting ridiculous. I suppose by Season 7 Yoda will turn to the Dark Side and Threepio will drink a magic potion that makes him Force-sensitive. Then upon the detection of triolic waves around San Francisco they'll head back to Earth where Captain Data will reveal that he'll go back in time and die in the 1800s. -
Reminds me of this...
-
I guess I should have said 'compared to Hayden and Natalie's acting in Clones'. Here it is. And I suppose Grievous getting surgery because he wanted to be a Jedi and Durge being Human are good stories in their own right too. Lucas is pretty much struggling to take control of his own universe at this point. You probably want this thread. So... does anyone else think it's ridiculous that the droids are not included with the new Falcon?
-
Hey, come on. He might accidentally decapitate himself... Indeed. Okay, I may have been exaggerating a bit. I guess compared to Clones it was all right. I swear, he does it on purpose.
-
Actually, I was the first to mention it. Because the more minifigures there are in a set, the less effort put into the actual ship. And this Falcon looks like garbage. As a second language, I find that English is easier to read when it’s written with proper capitalization, spelling and punctuation, as do the moderators. In your post I saw frequent lapses in capitalization and punctuation as well as several misspelled words, not to mention excessive use of exclamation points. Now, if you weren't a native English speaker, I would be a bit more lenient, but surely anyone learning English would remember at least once to use apostrophes in their contractions. I mean, contractions are used in English all the time! They’re not “jumbled up”; the Original Trilogy is a story in itself and the Prequels were just a kind of optional backstory for the Star Wars nerds who wanted more stuff to collect. To watch the movies “correctly” would be to watch the Original Trilogy and not watch the Prequels at all. Episode I was just terrible. Nothing makes any sense in that movie and nobody explains anything. Huh?

Well, "UCS scale" is 1:28. Reto's model is just a bit bigger than 1/24... and it's much smaller than yours. But as I said, the increased size allows for more detail and creativity in build technique. Sounds good. I'm still waiting for that PM. I don't think it's so much the size of the nose as the fact that it's a bit too blocky at the moment, but I'm sure brickartist will improve on that.
-
Looking at the size of Reto's model I think brickartist may have fudged a few figures here and there... but the increased size does help.
-
Sounds good! Hey, if you're going to design it in LDD, maybe this model could be our first official remote build... where somebody else builds it in bricks so we can see what it looks like! That way you could save a lot of money and we'll get to see another of your amazing MOCs! I only wish I had the parts...
-
Yeah, what's Vader doing on the Falcon? They look like the same old trapdoors to me.
-
Hmm, interesting proposal. Once more the Star Wars geeks will rule the galaxy... Yuck! Looks like an 8-year old stepped on his toy 74-Z and then decided he'd paint it red to match his fire truck. So this is how liberty dies - with a speeder bike, an X-wing, and a guy in a tub (?). No wait, this is the thingy that Anakin rode in Clones to go find Shmi right? There should be a full-sized model of this somewhere; I think I remember seeing them build one during production for bluescreen shots. If anyone here has any production footage... Having seen Blackknight112's past MOCs I think that he mostly likes building small... Hey, that sounds familiar...
-
Wow, it's amazing what you've initiated with just thread bumping brickartist and KielDaMan! Don't get me wrong, I'm all for putting this off until you have enough time, but it's exciting that you've proposed a new project from all of this. brickartist has already kind of done my job, so I'll wait until you can build another model to critique, whether that be six hours or six months later. Oh, and these might help. Also, don't use the Essential Guide schematics. Finally, does this mean we'll see bubble turrets on a LAAT/i again?
-
Stealing my thunder, are you? What's going to happen now that there are three of us (me, brickartist, you). Anyway, regarding the model I honestly have no idea what this is supposed to look like so I can't offer anything accuracy-wise, but I will say that it looks clean and is cleverly built.
-
 Well, for starters, it appears that the wings don't quite extend far enough and that the area around the cockpit is ridged instead of being straight. And that's only two. I would hate to be hired by LEGO, and I think KielDaMan would be too. The restrictions they put into set design are just so ridiculous. That's probably because the Clone Wars multimedia project is no longer part of Lucas' universe (if it ever was in the first place). On top of that, the target audience probably hasn't even seen the Clone Wars cartoons. Eh, he's got an MOC Expert tag so I'm sure the moderators will be a bit lenient. I mean, I can forgive cavegod's terrible spelling and grammar...
