LEGO Star Wars 2012 Pictures and Rumors

I'm usually not this picky with MINI models, but since you asked, I think using 2x4 wedge plates for the wings would be closer to the right size in relation to your 13-stud-long fuselage. I see the wings assembled backwards a lot, even in pictures of official sets built by other people. Is there some kind of discrepancy in instruction manuals between regions?

Raider is an underage member with poor posting habits, so Staff should take care of him soon. Now to get back on topic... Looking at the LEGO games, most of them seem to be traveling board game-esque sets (a board game in which pieces travel to reach a certain goal). Maybe something like Han and Leia microfigures trying to beat Vader and some snowtroopers to a MINI Falcon, or MINI AT-ATs heading towards the shield generator. GR-75s evading Star Destroyers, Zev in a MINI T-47 looking for Luke... the possibilities are endless. In any case, that LEGO die should prove useful. It's like the ultimate SNOT brick. EDIT: That's interesting - the new Droid Escape and the Clone Battlepack have piece counts for the sets listed while the others do not. 98 pieces? Sounds like one tiny AV-7. Droid Escape, on the other hand, has about three times the piece count of 7106. -
So I was right... You can see the handle poking out of the side, but it looks pretty good Though flex tubing might have been a bit cleaner.

So seeing as there aren't any LEGO Games under the Star Wars theme, I had no knowledge of it. Looking at these, it appears all we can guess is that it will include a LEGO die and microfigures... -
I think it might be a fire hose handle.
-
I think it looks fine as is - adding the binocular pieces would throw off the spherical shape you've achieved with the 2x2 inverted dishes. EDIT: Though you may want to make the wings a tad bigger.

As The Legonater said, nothing besides the TIE/ln and the Queen Amidala minifigure are confirmed, but the rumored 2012 UCS sets are a B-wing and an A-wing. -

Yes. Actually, it's Republic Gunship... So about this "Battle of Hoth LEGO Game"... what should we expect? Has The LEGO Group released anything like this before? People are bringing up microfigures, so will it be like a smaller version of this? -

What's an "iconic PT set"? * I wonder why BrickSpecialist blanked out all of his posts. He seemed confident that everything he was saying was correct but didn't say anything after Brickdoctor questioned him about his sources. *Other than the Venator and the Eta-2, that is. Not sure about the LAAT/i - but then again, I haven't seen Attack of the Clones since 2008. -

We haven't had a legitimate redesign since 2004. -

Except for that one instance... Welcome to Eurobricks! -
For the most part, they lack playability and are too big. Not only that, but many of them aren't recognizable or interesting to the target audience.

Well... I agree, it does seem a bit small when you compare it to the original. But the shaping on the engines is better this way, so I would say that Anio's decision was a good one. This picture left me speechless: The complexity of the techniques and extensiveness of the detailing exhibited in this build, coupled with the eccentricity of the original concept, work together to make this one of the best UCS MOCs I've seen. You've created an outstanding representation of a vehicle that couldn't help but be underappreciated in the Prequels (because of this MOC, the Plug-F Mammoth is now my favorite concept from The Phantom Menace next to the Radiant VII). Be very proud...

I think he means the V-wing.

In order to turn my thoughts away on why in the world Brickdoctor would be online when I'm guessing it's somewhere around 4 or 5 in the morning where he lives and just how much free time he has on his hands, I'll bring back an old thread... Several AFOLs have compared the Midi-scale sets to UCS sets due to the quality in their construction and detail, and I find this comparison quite appropriate. But alas, it appears that (as several users have argued in the above thread) the diminutive size and overall lack of grandeur in this Midi-scale sets, coupled with the fact that they lack minifigures, have caused them to sell poorly. What do you all think? And to amend my comment on 10129 in the other thread... various sources state that the T-47 miniatures used in the filming of Empire were around 21" long. Being some 40-odd studs in length, 10129 is obviously smaller than 'studio scale' (as are 7191 and 7181, which are actually in 1:28 scale...) @Anio: "Kreep?"* It's only a modification, but hey! *I'm hoping that some SEGA fan out there will recognize this reference.

lightningtiger coined that phrase? Wow... 75% off! Canadian AFOLs must have been parading the streets in celebration (no offense to any Canada-situated AFOLs here).

The one time LEGO wasn't cheapest in the States. I wrote: KEEP 0N 8RiCKin' evERy0ne This business is oh so cruel to us AFOLs.

Though Rufus has already taken care of this. EDIT: Then again, Goengar's been here for a month, so perhaps there would be someone willing to take up the commission by now. Three - 7664 TIE Crawler, 7672 Rogue Shadow, and 8087 TIE Defender. 7659 Imperial Landing Craft is closer to video game renditions of the Sentinel rather than the film version, so that could be considered Expanded Universe as well. Then again, The Clone Wars is technically Expanded Universe, so any sets based exclusively on that franchise(Delta-7B, TX-130, Twilight) could also be considered Expanded Universe. I wouldn't consider Battle Packs Expanded Universe-based, though; they're not really part of the canon at all. -
80% off?! I should have waited longer. I agree with the others here, it really is a shame that this line won't be followed up in the future. They were sturdy, detailed, relatively affordable... It's a good thing that AFOLs like Chris Deck have shown us what is truly possible in the MIDI-scale. I'm a conformist!, everyone... EDIT: What's with the word censor? That was freaky!

I'm pretty sure we've had this discussion before... when we were discussing how Dak Ralter's minifigure could double as a generic Rebel pilot. What I meant was, I'm glad The LEGO Group, after giving us such obscure characters as Ten Nunb and IG-88, have decided to learn the name of a (relatively) prominent figure in the history of the Alliance. You're probably right. But if we see as drastic a change in this X-wing as we saw from 8038 (as compared to 7657) I promise that I will not be so vehement. I wonder how many action figures he sold. Though one should keep in mind that here on Eurobricks we have many underage members whose spelling and grammar are more than acceptable. You've certainly got a point there... though at this point I'm genuinely beginning to question how much people really would pay for a minifigure. And these sets will include display options, so who knows - we may get our money's worth.
