  1. I'm not sure, but I think that the connection between the docking arms and the centre portion of the engine block needs to be more fleshed out, and the one between the outer engines and the middle engine block thinned. (See here.) The outer engines could also be a tad shorter, as seen here. It's still a great creation, though - I love that you didn't make a stumpy version like most people do. The elongated look is crucial to having this MOC be recognizable as its source material, and you've achieved it well at this size. Now, as for that Falcon... try slimming down the mandibles and rebuilding the cockpit so that it's closer to the 4-wide dish. A lucky night I found this top view of the 5' model from Chronicles:
  2. I love that you recognized the ship name but not the class. Most people only know it as a ‘Rebel medical frigate’. And of course several individuals have already pointed out the resemblance.
  3. Z-85? Whatever happened to the Z-95?
  4. Come now, trolling reflects poorly upon us passionate fans(And I speak from experience, comrades!).
  5. Funny, I was just going to ask you about that... of course the head of your model is far too tall and boxy for it to be an Empire AT-ST, correct?
  6. The thing is, ‘awful' is a very subjective term...
  7. As someone who values evaluative discussion of MOCs, the ‘Like’ button strikes me as just another form of spam. With every MOC there will always be someone who hits the ‘Like’ button out of habit, and the implications are as James Poniewozik of TIME magazine made clear: The ‘Like’ button is lazy and shallow; it doesn’t belong on an AFOL board.
  8. The Kuat Drive Yards EF76 Nebulon-B escort frigate: The most famous of these, the Redemption, was modified to serve as a medical frigate and was seen at the end of Empire.
  9. I apologize for the double post, but I didn’t want a minor point about bounty hunters to derail SI-mocs’ thread. To my understanding, the ‘bounty hunter = Star Wars’ connection stems largely from Fett and the motif of organized crime that’s always been present in the Expanded Universe (the Black Sun from Shadows of the Empire being only the most prominent example), though it has much less of a presence in the films. So there is a connection, albeit a rather loose one. Personally I think it’s been overused, not unlike the ‘deviant clone’ or the ‘escaped Jedi’. Naturally the flexibility that’s allowed with the idea of a ‘bounty hunter’ would sit well with fanon MOCers, which leads to a myriad of ships that only vaguely exhibit that ‘Star Wars’ look being ascribed to that category. SI-mocs’ MOC is a good one (and I mean a really good one), but it doesn’t have much of a Star Wars feel to it.
  10. Could the LEGO Group’s decision to significantly alter the nature of the UCS line somehow be related to the (apparent) lack of success they had with 10215? I mean, play features in 10221 and power functions in the upcoming 10227...10179 and 10212 included minifigures, but they were still designed with static display in mind (hence the tedious process of moving the wings on the latter), as was 10215.
  11. I recently came across a fascinating article concerning utopian novels. Literary studies never cease to intrigue me. Hang in there!
  12. After having looked through Cuusoo, I can definitely see where you’re coming from, but most of the projects aren’t that bad... perhaps as toys offered to children many would prove lacking, but as MOCs I wouldn’t call them crap. Many of them even look like something The LEGO Group would release. As for the Delorean MOC, I personally feel that it focuses too much on studlessness and SNOT for a LEGO set, but I know there are AFOLs who prefer that look (as blocky as the results can sometimes turn out to be).
  13. I second that...
  14. Isn't this guy hilarious?

  15. Gotta give Rick credit for being able to dig up a thread nearly two years old. Eurobricks Staff are awesome that way.
  16. Not bad at all! Relocating the arms is a huge improvement.
  17. How about this, this, this, or this?
  18. Ignore him - I'm sure the Mods will take care of it.
  19. Try sandwiched plates in the fashion of lowlead's Probot. This way the stud connections double as joints. Also, lightningtiger is correct.
  20. The implication is (was) that the suggestions be plausible, but then people kept naming $40 sets with a dozen minifigures and every single episode of THE Clone Wars as a set so this thread fell apart. Considering that the interior of the Falcon is considerably larger than the exterior as it is, this would have to be a mighty big Falcon,at least over a meter wide.
  21. Exactly. But we should keep this discussion in the thread I linked to so that we won't upset any Moderators.
  22. Having watched the entire series through three times, I'm inclined to disagree with the notion that they 'suck', but much has already been said on the matter, so I won't bother...
  23. I think someone might have said something about a UCS A-wing.
