In the name of the Benefactor, all Numbers of OneState are hereby informed of the following: Everyone who feels himself capable of doing so is required to compose treatises, epic poems, manifestos, odes, or other compositions dealing with the beauty and grandeur of OneState. This will be the first cargo transported by the INTEGRAL. Long live OneState! Long live the Numbers! Long live the Benefactor!

It was brought to my attention on FBTB that 21010 Robie House is now being sold on Amazon for $135.99, which is a huge drop from the original price of $199.99. Large price drops are usually associated with poor sales (8087 TIE Defender, anyone?) so I'm wondering what implications this has for the Architecture line as a whole. Though I haven't bought any of the Architecture sets, I rather like some of them, such as Fallingwater which had interesting techniques squeezed into a relatively small build. Others, like the Empire State Building or the Space Needle, I found less appealing. I remember Macoco bringing up the apparent failure of the Star Wars MIDI-scale sets in another thread recently, and I'm wondering whether anyone else sees a parallel here.

The pod is only five studs wide, so 3x3 corner plates wouldn't work.

I'm sure it happens to the best of us...

Star Wars: The Clone Wars - Season 4 Discussion
Fallenangel replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in Culture & Multimedia
As much as I think Krell's attitude toward the clones (and his generally annoyed demeanor) was appropriate, I felt the presentation could have been better. Anakin orders his troops succinctly and under the assumption that they will comply; Krell, on the other hand, comes across as kind of a bully. In my opinion, he would have been more convincing of a character if he spent less time verbally establishing his superiority over "see-see seventy-five sixty-seven". Rex and Fives were great in this episode, though. -
Are those the panels from your x1 with a thicker grey border? Fantastic attention to studio model construction! The portside pod is also lovely - shaping is excellent, much better than anything I would have come up with at this scale. The use of the landing skids as greebling is quite clever. My only criticism is that as a whole, the model seems to lack bulk. It's evident from this picture that the pylons and the bit between the cockpits need a bit beefing up.

Megabloks can cut up your hands pretty badly. I'm guessing those fine folks didn't know that.

I believe it had something to do with animation issues. The turrets wouldn't move correctly, or something. -
I was only joking...

I agree, the general look of the LAAT/i with those floodlights was quite silly. And gunships *should* be equipped with sensors... EDIT: Those LAAT/is in the beginning didn't fire a single shot. D: -
Quite fitting for Sunday morning:

Welcome to Eurobricks, Minimalist... I’m guessing you must enjoy Philip Glass. I rather like his music myself. Interesting that you’ve been MOCing using only the pieces from one set; I look forward to seeing some of your creations.

Star Wars: The Clone Wars - Season 4 Discussion

Agreed. And as I've mentioned before, in-universe, no one really has a reason to care about the clones. They don't have families or homes, and being grown in tanks and raised in anonymous communities they aren't characters one could easily empathize with. -
That's right! Whether it resembles anything from the films has absolutely nothing to do with it!

I was reading up on this the other day since The Legonater asked me about Hoth AT-STs: Agreed. Take a look at some pages from the old FBTB forums. Here are two decent examples: Dibal’s T-47 (still one of the best around, if you ask me) and RenegadeClone's reproduction of his A-wing. Aside from the usual ‘great work’-type comments, which are inevitable, notice how several comments take care to at least mention what they liked about the creation and occasionally what they didn’t like (Brian Tobin mentions here the discrepancy between the canon length of the A-wing and the official length – how very like him ). There’s also this. Being able to read about the MOCer’s decisions in making his MOC makes me remember and appreciate that MOC on a much deeper level than if I were to see it for five seconds, think ‘cool’, and click a button. And you can certainly see how even mentioning all of these MOCs brings them to the attention of the community, which, as I mentioned, is another way to show that you “like” them. Being able to discuss MOCs was really what got me engrossed in the AFOL community, and I would very much like for future AFOLs to be able to have that same experience rather than become accustomed to clicking a button and forgetting about an awesome MOC. -
I'm not sure how Clone O'Patra came across this, but I noticed that the Mcquarrie concept X-wing was incorporated into it, which I thought was pretty neat.

Star Wars: The Clone Wars - Season 4 Discussion

These are disposable clones we're talking about - there simply is no need to economize with them. The indifference of the galaxy toward the war effort and the irrelevance of the war to the prosperity of the Republic is evident in Coruscant's pristine appearance in Sith, especially considering the fact that a major battle had taken place there. As Brickdoctor said, the AT-RT is for recon duty... recall that they were deployed on Kashyyyk in Sith to look for survivors rather than as front-line vehicles. And even when they are on front-line duty, they're usually running at full speed and well covered (as shown in Clone Wars Chapter 22) . -

In some cases where I simply do "like" an MOC in spite of not being able to say anything about it, I try to bring it up in discussions to give it the recognition I feel it deserves. Like this. (Or this, or this...). Sure, it takes a few more seconds than hitting a button, but for all the work that was put into the creation, the MOCer deserves at least that much. But you didn't reply to my earlier post about your AT-ST... -
Well, we've already got Patrick piloting a Jedi starfighter...

If fanon becomes canon, it will surely be repudiated from many fans' 'personal' canons.

Because a UCS-esque set at $40 was unheard of? The midi-scale sets weren't terrible; they were solid, well-designed, and great for parts. It's just that they didn't make good toys... there were no play features, bright colors, or minifigures. -
Welcome to Eurobricks, Shoryuken! I think I'll call you '龍'... The thread you are looking for is here.
