Blacktron Mafia: Conclusion, Tranquility

That's what we were trying to see on the last night. We were not aware that a test would end the game for all. But thanks for pointing out that 3 equals 3.- 155 replies

Blacktron Mafia: Conclusion, Tranquility

We never said it didn't make sense. We said it was odd that you hypothesized a Scum watcher which we hadn't seen on EB before and Dave was clearly the Scum Watcher. And then you kept defending the Scum Watcher. That's why you were a lynch candidate. In retrospect, this PM was a big clue to lots of things:- 155 replies

That's because nobody needed the damn code to figure it out. Trust me, I'm kicking myself now for switching my target from Dave to Tariq. I really did think Dave would be an easy Day Three lynch... I can't roll my eyes enough.- 155 replies

*doesn't hold breath* This is why I didn't pursue Stig for the HTML markup in his posts. Not really. I changed it to that after she got lynched in Unrest in the Forest.- 155 replies

\5:1:18, just sayin'. Maybe I will kill you instead. So tomorrow. No. Absolutely megablocking not. Towards the end of Day Three I barely read any of your posts. I couldn't handle it.- 155 replies

Not embarrassing at all. I agreed with you. Bob's PMs seemed really Scummy. I analyzed them! Dragonfire, sometimes your tl;drs are longer than what you said in the first place.- 155 replies

People can play however they want but I have no respect for hiding. That being said, I tried hiding in Bloodbrick II. The strongest example I can think of, of a Scum being pissed for being caught for the wrong reasons, was def in Ragnarok II and we were both on his team. That's who I would've thought you had me confused with. And there have been worse Towns. Check Bloodbrick I and Infection.- 155 replies

Blacktron Mafia: Conclusion, Tranquility

Actually, you echoed mostlytechnic's points. Dragonfire believed Dave on and off. Every other post in the Town block PM was leaning back the other way on him...even after he watched himself to find a blocker. But I guess the newer generation tries things that are impossible and futile so I'm just too old to understand how much of a Townie move that was. Honestly, had I simply not killed Bob and the Scum had killed Dragonfire (which is what it looked like) Dave would've been toast on Day Five. I've discovered I don't like being led. I'm sure that's a huge surprise to everyone.- 155 replies

It really made no sense at all that he said you were the only other person he was in contact with. Especially since he said he had "pressing matters" that needed to be dealt with in private. The Scummiest! I can't believe I'm the only one who posted eight paragraphs about every sentence he spoke! :blush" Thanks. I liked your response too and it felt good to have someone else call Dave Scum. However, it made Dragonfire think Dave was Town. As far as Dave acting too outlandish to be Scum, what would "outlandish behavior" accomplish otherwise? :wall: Can we use Dave's behavior in this game as a checklist for Scum in the future? Or maybe the vets can. Apparently the newer class of Mafia players like to ignore Scummy behavior and liars. :(i need to make a minifig middle finder emoticon):- 155 replies

Don't be so hard on yourself. It's easy to make little mistakes like that and you'll figure it out next time. The game could've been won by the Town, so it wasn't terribly out of balance. If I could rid the world of acronyms...- 155 replies

Totally not your fault. Like TPRU said, if we had one more day we'd start mowing them down as they were all lined up and you were a big part in gathering all of that info. Let us never speak of that again. You weren't the only one. Ahem... Here's my responses to the posting of your PMs in the Town block PM: I'm going to deride metagaming...and then metagame you. Since it's only your second game, I would never lie to you. ??????? Ooops, yes. The idea to abuse the host's kindness of letting us pull pranks was my idea. Sorry. And then I concluded: Why would CMP answer his claim to be the Serial Killer with "Ranger is the investigator."? Somebody? It's CMP. He just said that. "The Scum know you are the investigator because a leak told somebody but I don't know that because I'm an innocent Townie but trust me until we kill you, OK?" Hindsight is 20/20. We should've had you pretend to buy this and then post at the end of the day "A friend has convinced me that I've trusted the wrong people. I'm the investigator but the Town block is full of liars! Someone help me! " And back to knowing that you're the investigator and on to trying to get Dragonfire lynched. Yes, this is Scummy. I'm trying to imagine it as a Town gambit. What I would do. I would go and pretend to be the Serial Killer and then just go undermine the Town block. No, I'd pretend to be the Serial Killer to learn more. If he told me he knew who the investigator was, I'd ask how he knew or he'd tell me there's a leak in the Town block??? Wait, no. None of that would happen because everyone would be too cautious. The very last thing CMP would do as Scum to a Serial Killer claim would be to say "We know who the investigator is!!!! Can you win with us?" He'd play framed Town for a while until he was sure he could believe the SK claim. So, it all sounds like megablocks right there. But even Bob's point of view. If...if... I was running a fake SK gambit and the Scum instantly believed me and told me he knew who the investigator was (which, by the way, is what Dave was trying to prove to me earlier...same argument, Dragonfire is sloppy Town and devious Scum all at the same time. They're not even saying either or, but I digress...for now) I would contact the investigator to let them know, but I'd probably mention all the fishing for the investigator identity Dave has already been doing and then I'd move on from the subject of trusting the Town block and find out how to further manipulate the Scum into revealing information. His gambit had no end game except for scaring Ranger into believing Dragonfire was Scum. Little did I know CallMePie actually did just PM Bob out of the blue and say "Ranger is the investigator". Bulletproof. I'd still like to know who the real vig was. See, the Town hated the Town so we were kind of at a disadvantage there too. And I forgot about this one: That’s because he was too busy sending me gems like this: Dave, you weren't even trying to be Town anymore at that point. And I wasn't Scum-vising you in PM, I was trying to get you to give more away. Little did I know the megablocking game was over. Regarding you:- 155 replies

Nope. Scum. I understand completely. I have an unhealthy dislike for you as a person right now. Sorry... It will pass... Although if you die Night One in the next game, I have a killing role, period. And you can thank Dragonfire and his stupid clothes–switching role for me not killing you. I thought it was an indication of a redirector and thought I'd end up killing myself if I killed you since I broadcasted that scenario in–thread on Day Two. When's the next game. Let's go. I want to kill Dave.- 155 replies

Protector. Him? And I did it without a rolecop. You could have role–copped somebody else. Had you guys contacted me instead of Bob, would you have let me achieve my win condition of getting it down to four players?- 155 replies

I do believe you've mistaken me for another player. I have no further comment about that for now... And the conclusion title is Serenity, though I have none right now. OK, now I'm actually going to bed. Night. Great game, everyone. Oh, I really wanted to. But, it was not my turn to lead the Town block... I confessed to being the Serial Killer on Night Three to Dragonfire and Lind. They accepted me immediately and were never paranoid about me trying to give advice. Well, Lind wasn't, mostly. I offered to stay home unless they had a solid target. Staying home was in the interest of making the game last longer. Bob was a good target but knowing what we knew, we should've been more conservative and not killed at all last night. Ah, well... One last bit of insight into the Town block. I was trying to convince Dragonfire that he had said too much and the Scum probably knew who the investigator was. CMP said a couple of times on the Scum writeboard that things would've been done differently in the Town block had I been in it. I was in it and I couldn't do too much advising because it was met with utter scrutiny and sometimes terror by Dragonfire. When I first tried to prove that it was easy to figure out who the investigator was (this was a game day before Dave checked the logins) I was accused of fishing. Lind, who seems to me to be a bit more level–headed was actually pinged a bit by it too. They accepted me as a Town–siding Serial Killer but it was a very delicate balance. But I don't give up easily. Assuming it would get me killed, I pushed further: See, I listed the investigator and three Scum as the candidates for investigator. And  to the Scum for not figuring it out for themselves. Lazy winners. Put some work into it!- 155 replies

It really really shouldn't have. Having 1/3 of the players basically anti–Town from the start isn't great balance. Especially considering I took the first two days to play a little Scummy. Well, I did think jluck was Scum but it hinged on Xen being Scum, so I was a bit flippant with that but I took out Tariq to take out the tracker and had fun doing it. But then seven Townies were down. And I would've probably kept my target on Dave had I not been afraid the Scum had a redirector. Plus, I thought it was fun to guess the tracker based on all of the stuff Sir Stig said. I honestly considered killing Sir Stig because it was just tiring trying to follow his logic. I don't do that any more. Immunity to investigation should be just that. Having a differently worded result is almost as bad as saying "Scum". Although, since Ranger is new, she didn't know to look for it.- 155 replies
