  1. Exactly this! Either there must be exceptional build (the 3 you mentioned) or they must give great army build figures (uruk-hai army) I have a feeling LEGO missplaced LOTR audience.... Black Gate is a prime example of its failure.... you want us to buy 2x Black Gate (or more) and you give us Aragorn, Gandalf and Mouth in it.... totally contradictory move...
  2. Well it would certainly be a shame if LOTR ends before 3rd wave..... I am really expecting third wave and hoping that both 2nd waves (hobbit + LOTR) were so poor (number of sets) because these were made quickly to fill the gap when Jackson revealed there are 3 movies instead of 2..... thats my hope atleast.... I would hope and expect for last wave next year to hit 6 sets each for a wave... with 1 exclusive among those 6.
  3. Updated
  4. Good looking Minas Tirith for 120-200$ ??? Are you high? A GOOD looking Minas Tirith would cost 500$+ and would come with 40 minifigs....
  5. You are right that notm any buy 170 pounds set multiple times BUT many might want to get rid of the Ent just like I did..... and 1 Ent is alot cheaper separately :)
  6. I feel the named Ent just Ent so you could amass them easier you know playing with your brains.... if it was called treebeared people would want 1 only... :D
  7. Bandit hideout in Gold Mine was my favorite set of all... I had all sets except Fort which was too expensive....
  8. I dont even care for any figure except the statue + Radagast ... so ye Ill defo bricklink these 2 lol
  9. Really that looks like what we would've gotten anyway? There are like 3 Zombie type figures (lame) 2 types of construction workers ANOTHER Cat-lady .... ANOTHER (OMG) Cop and Mermaid (already seen!) The only thing I want from the whole series is the Mermaid (For hair) and the only cure figure overall is the lady left from the MAIN MOVIE HERO.... (forgot her name) everything else is boring.... no medieval army builders = a bad wave for me.
  10. You can always sell extra soldiers.... Problem to me is IF they make Gondor army builder type (like uruk hai) I absolutely hate those orcs... (especially bald ones) they are so lame and uninspiring to me..... Atleast uruk-hai were done great! 4 Orcs a catapult(same as from the Ship!) a section of White wall + 1 Gondor Soldier (spear shield) + 1 Gondor Archer would be amazing.... I just hope we get a proper Gondor Shield and a proper helmet mold atleast for regular soldier of Gondor if not also for the Tower Guard.... These 2 molds/printings are my number 1 wish list from LEGO LOTR for now... the third would be Easterling :P
  11. Well to be honest its pointless to say what is in the film.... We never really see the ''army'' of Gondor in Minas Tirith massed up ..... but its a joke if film really wants us to believe that such a mighty Citadel was defended by 2300 soldiers.... Thats barely enough for the first lvl + a little reserve judging on the size of the city in the film (and books) Also I can hardly believe that by book there was only 80.000 Orcs..... thats so little..... and so little men of the East aswell.... never seen those numbers mentioned in the books.... it only says that the field was crawling black from them.... and The field was supposed to be pretty big since it gave us info how big it is (reaching the banks of Anduin).... Anyway It might be true but I am wondering where does it write in the book how many Orcs were in the battle of Pelennor or Minas Tirith?
  12. Not sure if someone copied already but I found this: The Mirror of Galadriel – Includes Frodo in a plain shirt and Galadriel. There is a small mirror and a statue. – $12.99 Amon Hen Ambush – Includes 2 Uruk Hai, Boromir, and what he believes is Merry. Small set of steps and the palantir tower. – $25.99 The Defence of Osgiliath – Includes 2 Orcs, a Gondor Knight, and maybe a Ranger. Small orc boat and ruins. – $40.00 Witch King Showdown – Includes the Witch King, Theoden, a Rider of Rohan (Eowyn), a white horse, and a Nazgul. Also includes a Fellbeast and small grassy area. – $60.00 The Battle of Minas Tirith – Includes Gandalf, 2 Gondor Knights, maybe 4 Orcs, a troll, and possibly Pippen. Set has 1 large gate at ground level, 2 smaller levels with a small house and the citadel. Also includes an orc catapult outside the city. – $120.00 - See more at: http://www.thebrickfan.com/lego-lord-rings-2014-preliminary-set-names-details/#sthash.95s4Nqh5.dpuf I hope that (atleast) last set is not true or the price range is double lol
  13. where have you read there were ONLY 2300 Gondor soldiers in a battle? thats how many came to aid.... the garisson of such bigcity/citadel alone would take a permanent presence of atleast 1.5-2000 troops just to keep the public order and food reservations under control.... Each level had its own ''batallion'' of troops stationed there before the reinforcements arrived.... so its safe to assume there were atleast 4-5.000 troops in there at the start of attack... Aragorn even says before marching to Black Gate that city (once the reinforcement arrive from South) will be better guarded than before the attack started and they were sitting on 7.000 troops roughly if i recall correctly.
  14. LOLOL Lets go step by step: No plate ofcourse only leather... and hood ... Yep Elves came to helm's Deep in leather (ok we can exclude it since its not part in the book but an example) Yep you are right... all in leather... no armor no platemail or anything... only LONGBOWs and leather... you are so right And now the exact Elves (or atleast 1 we wanted) again in leather right? Bottom line is Elves wear platemail and MEA was the best reason to put them there to mass buy it.... But its true they would've needed a new helmet mold and new shield mold to actually look like the picture above...
  15. Beorns hair is ridiculous to say the least.... Its the biggest disappointment!
  16. Not just that... its safe to assume that LOTR/Hobbit will last for as long as we get MOVIES released from Hobbit... and this concludes we can safely assume 3rd wave is on its way next December (and june for LOTR) but after that ye... there is loads of myst lol
  17. I think I will buy 2x MEA (mirkwood elf army) and sell Orcs (keep shoulderpads) and Thraunduil and most of the bricks (keep brown stuff I use for more trees to decorate my display of LEGO) They'll retail at 39.99€ in European Union and if our local shops will have those in December for same discount as Uruk-hai Army (25%) so for 30€ I'll instantly buy 2 .... otherwise I'll wait for 25%+ discount!
  18. Dol Guldur Ambush: Ok set... biggest highlight for me is the shoulders for the Orcs.... positive parts: Dark Red leaf and Orc hairpieces... Mirkwood Elf army: Pretty good set, but I envisioned better figures.... biggest highlight is hard to point out... ... positive parts: 3 Generic Elf figures, new colored Warg... Dol Guldur Battle: Good set, biggest highlight obviously Radagast himself... positive parts: Necromancer (looks okish) Azog and STATUE :P ( I like it) Overall thought and rating compared to what I would've liked and expected 6/10... Biggest let-downs: To me obviously the biggest let-down is the elven generic soldiers... I expected atleast 2 of them coming with helmets and armors if not also new molded shields! The next biggest let-down is Necromancer (Not sure how i envisioned him in LEGO form but it looked white for sure lol.... and the third biggest let-down would be the fact that none of the structures/buildings look material to put on the shelf!
  19. Sell the elves :P Well that would've been much EASIER IF LEGO would've given them hairpieces instead of annoying hoods (imo) I really hoped for 2 armored Elf soldiers with helmets and shields and 1 archer scout type of thing with hairpiece... instead I got kinda the exact opposite lol
  20. The Dol Guldur battle is DEFINETLY showing connection to some set to make a bigger structure like HD
  21. Thing is there was PLENTY of sets with Orcs and not so many elves (especially generic ones) around.... so its logical decision.... I loved the Uruk-hai Army... it had perfect ratio fo good vs bad the only thing I did not like is the fact 1 uruk-hai had no helmet (or/and 2 without armor as you prefer :P) So far after blurry ones I would say 1x Mirkwood Elf army and possible Dol Guldur huge battle ... both must be atleast 25% off!
  22. To be honest I never liked those mixed figures... Either maxifigures (as troll, rancor etc) or normal figures... those middle sizes look LAME to me..... It seems Mirkwood elf army has loads of pieces (looks like huge stuff to build allthough it might be due to being smaller boxes! )
  23. Actually to be honest I would've bought Unexpected Gathering but I did not really like the figs so I skipped it... and only got the structure for cheap lol So technically I bought 0 sets from Hobbit wave 1 and ALL (except Shelob) from LOTR wave 1.... Now from wave 2 LOTR I bought 0 so far (Bricklinked Orthanc Saruman for relatively good cash)
  24. To be honest I think saying a wave is better depends on how many sets you are willing to buy (or wanting to) From first wave I only ever wanted to buy Unexpected Gathering.... but from this wave I want to buy 2/4 sets... so overall this wave makes it better
  25. Its not a problem to cost the same problem is when in EURO it costs 65%-125% more on average! just look at Lone ranger Stagecoach... in US 30$ here 50€ (65$) Uruk-hai Army in US 30$ here 40€ (which is like 52$) I dont mind if its more but atleast put it 30€ :)thats already 39$! on topic... still no picture so sad!
