  1. And on overall discussion while I would sign those sets NOW i just dont see them happening (all) why you might ask... well mainly because all those would have to be 60$+ set to look as they come from the movie.... otherwise id be severely disappointed...
  2. And Sauron is action playing with? Those rocks? You cant have 1 figure from 1 timeframe and 3 from the other.... better making osgilliath then!
  3. So you are risking your enthusiasm for the whole line diminished and yet you cannot justify paying premium? So when do you JUSTIFY paying PREMIUM if I may ask? I guess when you sell and others buy huh :P
  4. Why do we need Bilbo? You get plenty of Bilbo in Hobbit... old bilbo? I dont care for him... he is just a statue in LOTR anyway... now Faramir... he is important :D
  5. nothing irrelevant... Helm's Deep is a big fortress/keep regardless of how easy it is to recreate it....
  6. Helm's Deep is also HUUUUGEEEE :) just for information :)
  7. The warg (brown) does not come with 1x2 plate and brick (brown) for where saddle goes right? Also whats shipping for warg + 1-3 figs to Europe?
  8. Dol Guldur battle has pretty much 0 recognizability compared to what we seen in the trailer and how the fortress actually looks.... its a big grey wall with a skelly cage and a statue...... To me its highly likely that only statue will be recognizable .. Half a set where you need x2 for it to be remotely complete (far from amazing looking if we just think how amazing they looked on screen!) and to get 2x same named heroes in it.... far from putting much thought in it huh TLG? :D Mines of Moria is totally different... it was a room inside a Cave.... Dol Guldur is a FORTRESS.... big important difference.
  9. Thats my hope, that they pushed more than 2 sets back to 2013 and quickly made 1-2 sets, which is also why they feel so half-finished... MEA, Dol Guldur, Black Gate, etc....
  10. Yeh but I bet with 1 armored Elf many more would buy the set... how much more I do not know... I know I would now, I have no big reason to buy the set apart from the cool brown warg.... would be enough to justify a new mould... I cannot say.
  11. Minas Tirith can get loads of figures even ceremonial part from the ''end'' of the 3rd movie (including Galadriel!) not to mention Denethor, Boromir (captain uniform) Faramir, Pipping (gondor uniform) and ofcourse beloved Tower Guards!
  12. I dont understand though why is the Witch king so important... I mean i read books and all history of Nazgul etc, but essentially Witch king is still just a regular Nazgul... without any special extra powers it seems.... Sure to book readers the ''no man can ever kill him or ever will'' stuff is important but if we look it purely from movie perspective he does what every Nazgul could've done, maybe excluding breaking Gandalfs staff, but that was added to the movie and is not in the book anyway
  13. if we go must haves entirely from my own wish list and ignore the chances they are made then those i bolded in your quote But if we go in realism mode, I would be happy with Gondor Soldier (armor, helmet shield + weapon) Faramir (Ranger outfit) and Denethor.... Anything more than these 3 figures would be a huge bonus :D
  14. is it just me or does the Taskmaster (I think) has Boromirs Shield... BASTARD sneaking around Boromir to steal his shield!
  15. Exactly! If i would have to make a combined list of top sellers it would go like that: 1. Unexpected Gathering (by far!) 2. Uruk-hai army 3. Helm's Deep 4. Weathertop/Barrel Escape 5. Mirkwood Spiders/ Orc Forge/Shelob 6. Gandalf Arrives/Mines of Moria/ Warg Attacks 7. Goblin King Battle 8. Riddles I think unexpected Gathering sold as good as Uruk-hai army and Helm's Deep combined.... I would probably drop 90% in LEGO spending.... Apart from LOTR/Hobbit I only bought MMV and MVR which were 2 amazing sets.... and then I bought like 50 random figures I really wanted like Satele Shan, Darth Malgus etc..... and about 50 CMF.... of the sets I only bought LOTR/Hobbit stuff.
  16. So you think if jackson adding a crazy kilometer falling and surviving thing he will think 1 arrow killing Smaug is out of proportion? :P Kinda contradicts himself then LOL
  17. Oh so dwarfs falling half a kilometer down the cave in Goblin King caves is fully believable but an Arrow killing a DRAGON is not.... I think some people need a reality check .... ITS ALL FICTION lol
  18. Exactly this.... Ok I went and grabbed Medieval Market Village and that Farm from kingdoms (because those are just pure awesome) but apart from that I mainly bought only LOTR.... ok maybe 10% Hobbit.... If LOTR ends I will spend ALOT less (not like thats a bad thing though) on LEGO.... Atleast my wallet and bank account will be happier :D
  19. Thing is, we were doing a research, even if you do calculate sales per set of a theme it is completely skewed in favor of more sets per theme thing.... More options = higher chance of buying something.... I can 100% assure you that the worst SW sets are far below ANY LOTR/Hobbit set sales overall, but because they have sooooo many it is bound there will be some hits (even excluding UCS line) Basic line is If you have 20 X sets on a shelf and 5 Y sets, customer is more likely to purchase something from X sets because chances are they will ''easier'' find something they like between those 20 X sets.... The 2nd reason is, there is NO WAY LOTR could've done better, and LEGO has only themselves to thank about that, because who will buy 50 Black Gates to get 50 Gandalfs and 50 Mouths and 50 Aragorns??? I would've bought countless of sets myself as a true LOTR fan but I dont need that many named figs... I need soldiers! Those 2 reasons are 1. and 2. reasons why LOTR/Hobbit sales are worse than they could've been.... and I doubt LR edged them out really....... I think LR had less production than LOTR in my opinion...
  20. You are absolutely correct.... but the statistics is kinda ''screwed''.... now you may ask why and let me tell you.... this statistics is based on the number of sales (TOTAL) not based by set..... It is easy for City/SW/even Friends to be so high.... just look at the number of sets out there that are available for all those lines.... LOTR/Hobbit had like 5 sets released...... how do you hope to achieve and surpass SW sales with 5 sets vs 20...... not to even compare to City lol.... I would be a huge disappointment if LOTR ends with wave 2.... LOTR was the line that brought me back from Dark ages.... in the end it will not even matter so much as what sets we get but which figures we did NOT get.... and LOTR line without Gondor troops, Faramir, Denethor, and possibly Haradrim/Easterlings and Galadriel (granted she is not in Hobbit) just feels incomplete.... Especially Faramir/Gondor soldiers/rangers/guards will be sorely missed....
  21. Can it get worse :D
  22. Its quite unsettling that there are NO teasers for LOTR 2014.... Makes me conclude they might shockingly cut LOTR O_O That would be an amazing shame .... Guess I will go out and buy Pirate Ship Ambush afterall if thats the case lol....
  23. Its just so sad (for me) that the coolest box designed set (Lake Town) has the worst figures for me... the blue on the box makes it so beautiful! Have to say... Radagast is by far the best figure in this wave..... then long long nothing and then maybe Orcs.... Thraundil has nice torso/legs but I do not like his hair somehow looks weird to me... Radagast is a pure 10 though.... ok maybe his head could use some printing (or legs) but i can live without that.
  24. Thats a very BAD reason to include it.... Faramir, with some rangers/gondor troops and Gothmog/orcs with Witch king now thats a good reason to include ..... Star Wars is something else but LOTR with like maybe 3 waves (or 4) is totally unfitting to put heroes just randomly.... best to put Boromir in Unexpected Gathering, Frodo in helm's Deep and so on and on .... You can always add brick built DEAD olifont instead of Osgilliath which supplies the bricks and adds way more logical inclusion in the sat than any ruins......
  25. When did Theoden Merry and Eownyn fight at Osgilliath ruins? wtf totally not fitting together !!!
